Statue Made of Gold

Women were created by God and are deeply loved and valued by Him.
God, help us men to see and treat women as your treat them, as you instructed us in the Scriptures.
Help us God to treat women as your Son Jesus Christ treated them.


I'm seated in the solitude of my living room
waving goodbye to the greatest idol I have created.
Made of flesh and bones.
created with an intellect and will.
Seating women in the throne of my heart
ended up being the greatest mistake of my life.

I gave away much of my time
trying to overturn her rejections into a yes.
Like a Statue Made of Gold
I invested time in worshipping women.

I changed my personality so many times
trying to be their ultimate choice.
I twisted Scriptures in order to get what I wanted.

I invested time in being interesting to women.

I used Christianity to get their attention
and used the Gospel to make an image of myself.

I invested time in thinking about women.

I'm seated in the solitude of my living room
waving goodbye to the greatest idol I have created.
Bitter tears fall from my eyes as I hold my Bible.
I failed to realize women are not perfect and need grace.
God's healing is uncomfortable and really hurts
but it is slowly saving my life.

Later on in life I discovered how great a gift women are! For the most part sensitive, loving, caring.... They are God's gift to lonely man.

As anything else or anyone else they can become an idol. Our hearts must be fully His or He won't have us! (Lord make that so in me!)
