The feeding of the five thousnd is found in all four gospels and the feeding of the four thousand in three gospels. Baskets used to collect the left over pieces is significant. The english version of the bibles do not do justice to who these people were.

The basket used to feed the 5000 was a kophino from the greek manuscripts and anywhere in all four gospels the basket is mentioned it is a kophino. The Stong's Concordance the number is 2894. Now this is a jewish basket and from the scriptures we can identify also the participants by the questions they asked of the Lord when they followed him which only a jew would have said. Like our ancestors ate manna in the wilderness---

The basket used to feed 4000 was a spuris from the greek manuscripts. Holds true thru all three gospels where the basket for the 4000 are mentioned. The Strongs Concordance number for a spuris is 4711. Jesus had just returned from Sidon and Tyre in lebanon and approached the area of Decapolis, a group of 10 cities given to the greeks by the Romans for their assistance in securing this area. This basket was not jewish but gentile, we can also confirm a spuris basket was used in the book of Acts to escape Damascus, a gentile b asket in a gentile city.

I may of posted this in the years past but I have more to add--Your thoughts

Sounds like they were big baskets, then.

You can dig into the number of the leftover Gentile baskets (7) and Jewish Baskets (12).

I'm sure there's significance there too.

As Paul Harvey use to say--For the rest of the story

There is a great mystery here because if you believe Yeshua was God it should have came out to the crumb

Do you not yet perceive or understand? Are your hearts hardened? 18 Having eyes do you not see, and having ears do you not hear? And do you not remember? 19 When I broke the five loaves for the five thousand, how many baskets full of broken pieces did you take up?” They said to him, “Twelve.” 20 “And the seven for the four thousand, how many baskets full of broken pieces did you take up?” And they said to him, “Seven.” 21 And he said to them, “Do you not yet understand?”

Miracle of multiplication
Feeding of the 5000 jews
Feed them the way Jesus did
5 loaves times 2 fish = 10
Jesus divided in among the 5000 5000 divided by 10= 500
500 times 12 baskets left over is 6000 years
jews were responsible for the keeper of time for 6 days

Feeding of 4000 gentiles
7 loaves times (few) 2 fish
7 times 2 = 14
4000 divided by 14 = 285.7142857///////
285.7142857 times 7 baskets left over = 2000 years
This is the time of the Gentiles

I dont think the capacity of the baskets mattered because the Lord only inquired in the number of baskets
