Luke 1:33 esv
and he will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of his kingdom there will be no end.

1 Corinthians 15:24 esv
Then comes the end, when he delivers the kingdom to God the Father after destroying every rule and every authority and power.

Thoughts?

Why pick on the ESV?

Here's the KJV:
Luke 1:33 And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end.
1 Cor 15:24 Then cometh the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power.

Nearly all translations read that way.

is this one of those, "i had too many beers," or " just finished a bowl" kind of lucid moments, where you read something that does not exist, but you create a forum discussion like it does any way, kind of Thread?

lol, it's one of those moments where if someone really doesn't agree with how one of the Bible translations translated something then they should speak with their preacher and find out which translation translated it to fit more in line with how their Church teaches. Come on folks this is 2023 don't we all have Bible translations that we translated to so they said things the same as we believe?

When your favorite Bible contradicts itself, maybe it's time to look elsewhere.

Here is Luke 1:33 when properly translated by Young's Literal Translation:
"and he shall reign over the house of Jacob to the ages; and of his reign there shall be no end.' "

You see, now there is no contradiction between Luke 1:33 and 1 Corinthians 15:24. You're welcome.

33 He shall reign over the house of Jacob for all eternity, and His kingdom will be without end.”

33 and he will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of his kingdom there will be no end.”

You are seeing things, dude, seriously.
What you claim doesn't exist.

By the way, I love the ESV for its ease of reading. However, when it speaks of things like "eternal" and "everlasting", I look to the YLT or the Concordant. Most Christians have the mistaken belief that translations such as the KJV, NIV, ESV, etc., are perfectly translated and it's obvious that's not true.

All you've done is identify yourself as an preterit. You attacked another translation then directed everyone to the Young's literal Translation because you see it as the one that translates things to so they align with preterism because that how you believe.

Why do you ridicule me, brother? Have I ridiculed you?

In any event, Jesus will NOT rule the "house of Jacob" forever. That verse is mistranslated and the result of that mistranslation is that it then contradicts 1 Corinthians 15:24.

I'm not here to argue with my brothers in Christ. I will bow out of this discussion. Please excuse me and may God bless you all.

Look at Verse 25:
25 For He must reign "until" He has put all His enemies under His feet.

This is a process that must take place before He is Crowned.
Verse 24 is not the actual end, but the beginning of the next fulfillment of God's Plan.

You're creating a Doctrine out of 2 Verses and ignoring the fact, they actually CONFIRM one another.

Yep it's a place time marker in the prophetic time line.. https://biblehub.com/interlinear/acts/3-21.htm

It seems nothing can be discussed by some of you people without someone getting snarky and igniting discord.
