Psalm 28

1 Unto thee will I cry, O Lord my rock; be not silent to me: lest, if thou be silent to me, I become like them that go down into the pit.

2 Hear the voice of my supplications, when I cry unto thee, when I lift up my hands toward thy holy oracle.

3 Draw me not away with the wicked, and with the workers of iniquity, which speak peace to their neighbours, but mischief is in their hearts.

4 Give them according to their deeds, and according to the wickedness of their endeavours: give them after the work of their hands; render to them their desert.

5 Because they regard not the works of the Lord, nor the operation of his hands, he shall destroy them, and not build them up.

6 Blessed be the Lord, because he hath heard the voice of my supplications.

7 The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in him, and I am helped: therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth; and with my song will I praise him.

8 The Lord is their strength, and he is the saving strength of his anointed.

9 Save thy people, and bless thine inheritance: feed them also, and lift them up for ever.

whats great about the psalms is that the are very human in the range they cover like David’s psalm numbered 51 written after he had gone to Bathsheba commiting adultery a sin of death , later lying and deceiving to cover his sin , and eventually ordering uriah a good israelite man’s death because of his first sin in covering Bathsheba when he looked upon her bathing , that led him to lust and adultery , impregnating another man’s wife , lying plotting and deceiving the man and when it all failed he left him alone against an army on a battle field causing his death all to cover his transgression with Bathsheba

You’d think David a chosen king of God would be lost now commiting these sins against the law which calls now for David the adulterers execution Leviticus 20:10

but david prays the true sinners prayer

Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy lovingkindness: According unto the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my transgressions.

Wash me throughly from mine iniquity, And cleanse me from my sin. For I acknowledge my transgressions: And my sin is ever before me.

Against thee, thee only, have I sinned, and done this evil in thy sight: That thou mightest be justified when thou speakest, and be clear when thou judgest.

Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; And in sin did my mother conceive me. Behold, thou desirest truth in the inward parts: And in the hidden part thou shalt make me to know wisdom. Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean: Wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow. Hide thy face from my sins, And blot out all mine iniquities. Create in me a clean heart, O God; And renew a right spirit within me.

Cast me not away from thy presence; And take not thy holy spirit from me. Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; And uphold me with thy free spirit. Then will I teach transgressors thy ways; And sinners shall be converted unto thee. Deliver me from bloodguiltiness, O God, thou God of my salvation: And my tongue shall sing aloud of thy righteousness. The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: A broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise.”
‭‭Psalm‬ ‭51:1-7, 9-14, 17‬ ‭KJV‬‬

the psalms have many perspectives and are written t different times of the journey sometimes we feel like we’re really living right and pleasing God other times we know we made a big mistake and then did some other things that are against the character within us now

you can really relate to the psalms when your reading the right one at the right time I love them
