FYI ONLY:

Awan
Such exegesis of Genesis 4 introduced Cain's wife as being his sister, a concept that has been accepted for at least 1,800 years. This can be seen with Jubilees 4 which narrates that Cain settled down and married his sister Awan, who bore their first son, the first Enoch, approximately 196 years after the creation of Adam.
Born: 64-70 AM
Children: Enoch
Died: 930 AM (aged 860-866)
Parent: Adam and Eve
Spouse(s): Awan, who was his sister

Whom did Cain marry according to Genesis? [duplicate]

WebAccording to Genesis, we are not told whom Cain married. However, according to logic, Cain married a daughter of Adam; cf. Genesis 5:4. Cain was banished from Eden by God. ref. Genesis 4: 14 'Behold thou hast driven me out this day' God banished Cain which means …

All who receive the Father's Holy Spirit become part of the body of Christ, and become children of God just as Christ is the Son of God. We also receive the Spirit of Christ because both Spirits reside in our hearts. This Spirit was given to Christ when He went back to the Father to get glorified (filled with the Father's Spirit) so that Christ can distribute (baptism in the name of the Holy Spirit) it to those chosen by the Father (baptism in the name of the Father) who grants the repentance deep enough for the person to turn to the Father for forgiveness and to Christ (baptism in the name of the Son) to get his sins erased. When a person becomes the temple of the Holy Spirit, He becomes a new person (born again) with a new heart full of love for God and man. He becomes One with the Father and Son. His motivation changes from self to the desire to please God by getting to know Him and doing His will. When every thought and action is motivated by love for God and man, we are obeying the Spirit of the Law (God judges the heart). Those who depend on being accepted by obeying the Letter of the Law will be judged by the Law. Again, Adam and Eve were the first man and woman to receive the Father's Holy Spirit. Prophets and holy man of God in the old testament were able to communicate with God through His Holy Spirit and through dreams. Adam and Eve being able to communicate with God means that they were filled with the Father's Spirit. They are the parents of all who receive the Father's Spirit of life throughout human history because they were the first ones created in the image of God by receiving His Holy Spirit. This answers the question of who did Cain marry when He was kicked out. There were other humans who were not created in God's image.
Does anyone else have an explanation of who Cain married? Who did Seth marry?
Who were the other humans created? Is this serpents seed doctrine?

How could you possibly know that? Cain and Abel were the first two children born. What makes you think that Cain didn't kill Abel until hundreds of years had passed? How do you know that he didn't kill him before Adam and Eve had ANY other children?
No....they are the only ones specifically mentioned. Not that the others didn't exist. Adam and Eve had other Children who were not of note.
Again...the creation account is not exhaustive....only pertinent highlights are mentioned and used to teach truths that we need to know...not a lot of superfluous information for curious minds.

And the numbers of years is listed in the genealogies. Again not an exhaustive list....just pertinent information that you need to know.

20,000 is a LOT of people to choose from.

I'm not saying I disagree with your explanation, but it is ONLY supposition. We don't know when Cain killed Abel, we don't know how many kids Adam and Eve had... it's all supposition.
I was taught the same thing you stated, growing up... I have lately begun to question if that is, in fact, the way it happened. It COULD have, but it could have gone another way, as well.

Fortunately, it is not a salvation issue... it won't change a thing, either way.

I double dog dare you to find me the Bible verse where it says God didn’t create 3 headed people!
The difference is that there are no 3 headed people, but there were other one headed people at that time. Either they were blood relatives or other created humans.

No.

We are created in Gods Image from birth. God is a Triune God, and man is a triune being. Body, soul, spirit.

Do not know what you are trying to say by this:
When you are born again because you receive the Spirit of the Father and Son

God is a Triune God. God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit
Please explain the anology between the body, soul, and spirit of man and that of God. Did God have a body before Jesus was born?

"Other created humans" has a huge theological problem with original sin and redemption.

Please explain the analogy between the body, soul, and spirit of man and that of God. Did God have a body before Jesus was born? Making man in the physical image of God would mean that God would be the physical image of man which is impossible. The like image cannot be physical likeness. It has to be a spiritual likeness. Angels are spirits with a free will and were created above man. Are they in the likeness of God? Father and Son are both Spirits and what do they have in common? They both contain the Holy Spirit of the Father. Christ is full of the Father's Spirit. That is how He was able to communicate and get empowered by the Father. He was in the Father's image because He was One with the Father. God did not make all men in His image. Just those that he filled with His Holy Spirit in order to receive His communication and empowerment. When Adam and Eve sinned, God covered their nakedness and obviously told them about the coming savior who will free them from their sin. It was then that God instituted the sacrificing of a lamb to represent the belief and trust in this coming savior. Abel obliged by offering the lamb while Cain offered the fruit of His labor. That is why Cain's gift was rejected by God. What was Cain's punishment? Gen 4: 16 And Cain went out from the presence of the Lord, and dwelt in the land of Nod, on the east of Eden. The Lord is present when His Holy Spirit is present. Cain going out from the presence of the Lord means that Cain was no longer filled with the Holy Spirit and was no longer in the image of God but wandered out on his own to live with others who also were not filled with the Holy Spirit. In Gen 4: 25 And Adam knew his wife again; and she bore a son, and called his name Seth.
For God, said she, hath appointed me another seed instead of Abel, whom Cain slew.
Gen 3: 15 And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; The Savior was supposed to come through the seed of Abel, but now will be coming from the seed of Seth. Notice that both Cain and Abel were both living with their parents. Neither were married and if they were their family would be living with them. Seth was the third son and he also had a son whose name was Enosh. Who was Enosh's mother? Something is not adding up right. Gen 4: 26 And to Seth, to him also there was born a son; and he called his name Enosh: then, began men to call upon the name of the Lord. The reason that men started calling on the name of the Lord is because through the Holy Spirit, there was communication between God and man. Adam and Eve were the parents of all living because just like Abraham, they believed and it was counted to them for righteousness. We are born in the image of God when we are born again and receive the Holy Spirit of the Father and Son.

The entire Old Testament has a literary device of a very slow revelation of Jesus....in Genesis Jacob wrestles with God....that's as close as it gets to some kind of man and its not exactly clear there either. Like I said before....it's a very slow reveal.

Including a meal in Exodus or Numbers described where the leaders of the different clans in the Tribes came and ate with God.

It's not till Malachi after all the other descriptions of God and the Messiah that we have a laundry list of over 1,100 descriptions that describe Jesus, his actions and a fairly good physical description.
All of these things were alluded to by various scriptures....overworked too by scholars through the ages.

God doesn't ever lie or has ever needed to lie....but at times God can be a bit deceptive and "sneaky" for OUR benefit. (Because God is always Good)

God/Jesus is not bound by time the way we are....nor is Heaven. We see the same Angel Gabriel talking to Daniel as well as Zachariah 600+ years later...probably the same one that spoke to Mary and Joseph but we can't be sure. The use of Messengers were often not included in Jewish literature descriptions and scriptures practically ignore them regularly unless necessary. Especially when Jesus is God and the ladder described in Jacob's dream that the messengers used.

We, as Christians who believe in Jesus get to view the entire Old Testament and ALL the foreshadowing surrounding Jesus....and it's clear to us now. But before and during Jesus's ministry it would be very difficult to completely understand about Jesus. Most of the Jews were looking for a warrior/king with great majesty and honor and especially wealth. But that was not the Jesus/Messiah that came.
The concept that God doesn't need an army or our honor trappings was lost on most of them...and Many of us to this day.

Correct....
But the key word here is "took" as almost in a misogynistic manner. It's not very often scriptures mention a Patriarch loving his wife or "joining with a woman in marriage". Maybe as one of his wives was loved and the others just put up with. Job was left with the one wife who thought his breath always smelled bad.
But I tend to think that because of the actions in the Garden where Eve was the first to eat, women became one half step above property. Not really viewed as an equal partner in life. Which is why the word "took" is used....because in a lot of ways her thoughts and attitudes didn't matter concerning who she married.
To first answer the question of this thread. I'm not sure what all the pretext was for, or how it relates, but yes Cain married his sister and that is not uncommon in early history - even Abram married his half-sister Sarai - a practice later in time forbidden in scripture.
Now to the quote above...
I don't think your latter statement is a good leap of logic from what scripture reveals about these relationships. Places where you do see this kind of property use is when Sarai and Abram are trying to figure out how to accomplish God's promise without God and Sarah says here take my servant. Even in that, Sarah as his wife, is seen as an equal in this conversation.
I think the reality is that arranged marriages were not uncommon in scripture or ancient culture and ultimately the groom had the final say of whether to receive or reject (to take). I think this is a potential point if you are going to make a theological point out of it. With this idea as the groom standing in the place of Christ, He is the only way and he receives or rejects his bride. Even that is a tenuous connection at best.
More importantly, we do see in scripture that the woman is shown to have some say in it, but not necessarily after the deal is struck. Read Gen 24:58.
In some capacity, Rebekah is given the opportunity to not go through with this arrangement.

Finally, and this is not worthy of good theology but is more interesting to think about how such traditions begin anthropologically.
From our perspective in time the following may sound a little gross and weird and I think scripture purposefully doesn't go here because Men do terrible things with wrongful interpretations of scripture. That said, from a pure anthropological point of view, maybe this arranged marriage thing got its start in tradition from the fact that early in creation men had to wait for a wife to be born and reach an age of maturity. One could understand that family disputes could easily arise and result in bargains struck. Sounds terrible I know but I don't think it started because women were seen as less valuable or less equal. As always, and with time the depravity of man has its impact on social structures and the devaluing of women is a sad reality of our existence.

interesting read from

https://www.blueletterbible.org/faq/don_stewart/don_stewart_717.cfm

One of the most often-asked questions about the Bible is that of Cain's wife. The Bible says that after he killed his brother Abel, Cain married a wife.

And Cain knew his wife, and she conceived and born Enoch. And he built a city, and called the name of the city after the name of his son - Enoch (Genesis 4:17).

Many Questions

There are many difficulties that arise with this statement since Genesis only records two children of Adam and Eve to this point-Cain and Abel. The issues to be considered are these:

1)If all humanity descended from Adam and Eve, then where did his wife come from?

2)In addition, where did all the people come from that are mentioned in the account?

3)If Cain married a relative, then doesn't this indicate incest?

4)If Cain married his sister, then wouldn't we expect any offspring to suffer degenerative effects?

Pre-Adamic Humanity

Some have attempted to say that Cain's wife came from a race of Pre-Adamic humans who were around before Adam and Eve. The idea of Cain marrying someone from this race creates more problems than it solves. The Scriptures are clear that Adam was the first man created (Genesis 2:7,18-19; 1 Corinthians 15:45). Furthermore, his wife Eve was given her name because she was the mother of all living (Genesis 3:20). These two facts rule out the idea of some Pre-Adamic race from which Cain chose a wife.

Other Children
Other Bible students have attempted to explain the existence of other humans apart from Cain and Abel by saying they were not necessarily the first two sons of Adam and Eve. They contend that other sons and daughters could have been born before Cain and Abel and that the Bible is merely singling out these two for emphasis. The Bible, however, knows nothing of any other children of Adam and Eve before Cain and Abel. Attempting to say that other children existed before Cain and Abel has no support in Scripture but it cannot be totally ruled out.

If all of humanity did descend from Adam and Eve and their first two sons were Cain and Abel then how do we explain the existence of Cain's wife?

Time Not Stated

First, we must understand that no information is given as to when Cain killed Abel. The Bible does not tell us how old Cain and Abel were when this murder took place. It merely says it occurred at the end of days. It is not necessary to assume that they were mere teenagers or young men. If each of them were over fifty years of age, then there could have been a considerable number of people living at the time. We know this because the Scripture does state that Adam and Eve had many more sons and daughters than Cain and Abel.

And he begot Seth, the days of Adam were eight hundred years; and he begot sons and daughters. So all the days that Adam lived were nine hundred and thirty years; and he died (Genesis 5:3,4).

The Bible says Adam was one hundred and thirty years old when Seth was born. He then lived another eight hundred years. God had promised Eve that he would greatly multiply her conception (Genesis 3:16). In fact Jewish tradition states that Adam had 33 sons and 23 daughters! Therefore many people could have existed at the time when Cain killed Abel. It has been conservatively estimated that 32,000 people could have been alive at that time this event occurred.

Long Life Spans
Furthermore, Genesis 5 records long life spans of the descendants of Adam. If we assume the couples gave birth to children for only half of their life span, then the population by the time of Adam's death could have been very large. Moreover, the genealogy in Genesis 5 records that every descendant of Adam down to Lamech had other sons and daughters. These other sons and daughters were born to men not older than one hundred and eighty-seven years.

With these facts in mind, there would be no problem finding a wife for Cain. Prior to his banishment, Cain could have had many women from whom to take a wife.

What About Incest?
It seems then that Cain, or one of his brothers, must have married a sister. If the entire human race came from an original pair then this was unavoidable. Does this not present us with the problem of incest? The answer is no. These early intermarriages between brothers and sisters does not violate the commands God later gave in the Book of Leviticus which condemned these relationships.

Sister Or Niece

Though Genesis condemns incest- relations between children and parents-it does not forbid a man from marrying his sister or niece. The Bible records other examples of intermarriage within families. Abraham, for example. married his half-sister Sarah (Genesis 20:12) while Moses' father Amram, married his father's sister, his aunt Jochabed (Exodus 6:20).

Changed With Law
It was when God gave the people the law of Moses that He established laws forbidding a man from marrying a sister or niece.

None of you shall approach anyone who is near of kin to him, to uncover his nakedness: I am the Lord (Leviticus 18:6)

At that time God forbade marriage between the following: mother, father, sister, brother, half-brother, brother's wife, aunt, uncle, stepmother, granddaughter, daughter-in-law, and son-in law. Before that time, it was not forbidden (Leviticus 18:7-17).

God forbade intermarriage at the time of Moses to protect the increasing chance of a deformed offspring resulting from such a union. In addition, the future health of the nation Israel was insured by this commandment. Furthermore, the commandment against this type of practice strengthened the structure of the family unit.

Degenerative Effects

If this be the case, then what about the question of genetic damage? Today the risk of genetic damage is high among relatives who intermarry. However, in the beginning, there would not be the usual genetic defects arising from intermarriage among family members. Adam and Eve were created perfect with a perfect gene pool. The Bible says when God created everything it was very good (Genesis 1:31). The perfect world only began to degenerate with the entrance of sin. Cain and Abel would have few, if any, imperfect genes. Any defects that would occur from marriage within families would not begin to appear until later generations. Thus the danger of genetic damage by intermarrying between brothers and sisters was not an issue in those early days.

One final point to note, the command that God gave to Adam and Eve-to leave father and mother-assumes that you are not going to marry either one of them! Therefore the idea of marrying your child, or parent, was never found in Scripture

This is the summary from post above ----

Where Did Cain Get His Wife?
https://www.blueletterbible.org/faq/don_stewart/don_stewart_717.cfm
Summary

As far as the account of Cain's finding a wife when no other people were mentioned except Adam, Eve, and Abel, we can make the following observations:

1.The problem of the identity of Cain's wife cannot be solved by arguing for some race of Pre-Adamic humans. The Scripture is clear that Adam was the first man and that Eve was the mother of all the living.

2.Some believe that the answer to the population problem is to say that there were older brothers and sisters of Cain and Abel. There is no biblical support for this view but it cannot be totally ruled out.

3.We are not told the age of Cain and Abel when the murder occurred. They could have advanced to a considerable age before Cain killed Abel. The limit the Bible puts on the age of Cain and Abel is 130 years.

4.Adam and Eve had many sons and daughters. We are not told specifically how many, but we are told that Adam lived 930 years. This raises the possibility of dozens of children from that couple alone. There were possibly as many as 32,000 people living at the time Cain killed Abel.

5.Genesis 5 tells us that some of Adam's descendants also had long life spans. Likewise, the Bible says that they gave birth to many sons and daughters.

6.There would not be an issue of incest-parents sexual relationships with their children. This would be a matter of siblings intermarrying-something that was not condemned in Scripture until the Law of Moses. Abraham is one biblical example of a person marrying his half-sister.

7.The Law of Moses condemned intermarriage between brothers and sister to protect the health of the nation as well as the family unit.

8.Because Adam and Eve were created perfect, their gene pool would not have been corrupted until after the Fall. Children of close relatives that married soon after the Fall would not be subject to the same degeneration that would occur in later generations.

9.Genesis 1 says we are to leave father and mother when we get married. That assumes you don't marry one of them!

No. He traveled away from his parents and married a person from the people created in chapter 1 of the creation.

Adam was a separate kind of human.
