The good Shepherd will guide us through any storm as long as we are willing to listen to His guidance.
Psalm 23
English Standard Version
A Psalm of David.
23 The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
2 He makes me lie down in green pastures.
He leads me beside still waters.
3 He restores my soul.
He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
4 Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.
The rod of correction is a comfort to the wise knowing it is better to heed correction than to walk in the valley of the shadow of death with no discipline. Death shows no favoritism and to live in the practices of discipline we limit the odds of falling prey to the darkness.
With the staff held high the Shepherd stands as if a beacon of guidance and a reminder of who goes before us.
John 10:4
English Standard Version
4 When he has brought out all his own, he goes before them, and the sheep follow him, for they know his voice.
The Shepherd goes before us so that we may know the path to follow. We follow the narrow way for no matter even in times we may not see the path or the staff, we hear the voice, “Follow me”.
If we follow His guidance, evil shall never prevail. He who restores our soul will comfort us and supply us with all we need.
