Gary, you are only supposed to be using half of your brain. You are therefore banned from giving hard clues and you lose all free coffees and eclairs. They will be going to me.
Do not be dismayed, dear darlin' - for I have more clues/hints to offer... :)

The two phrases are "related" by virtue of their common-use meanings.

I can tell that you are "all tapped out" - at least for the moment... :D

:giggle:

However, you get the 'award' for being the most willing to venture guesses based on what clues/hints you have - instead of waiting for as many clues/hints as possible before posting.

And, I know that this 'password' is more difficult than the average one - which is coming up with [only] a single word.

This game would be more fun if many people were playing it concurrently.

Thank you for your participation - and, doing what you can to add to the 'fun'. (y)

Thank you, you. So what were the two phrases? Or are we still pressing on with this last challenging one?

what is the primary occupation of the famous man?

Did the man say and make both phrases famous?

A man in history made this (first) phrase famous.
If you "zoom in" on the word 'history'...

A man in history made this (first) phrase famous.

If you then "enhance" it...

A man in HiSTory made this (first) phrase famous.

Hmmmm - I wonder if those three letters could be the man's initials...

Only found a couple for hunter s thompson

“Some may never live, but the crazy never die.”
“Too weird to live, too rare to die!”

After this, I guess I will stick to coming up with really simple single words that someone is sure to get in 5 minutes - then, perhaps more people will want to play the game.
