Psalm 27
By David.

(Son about Father)

27:1 YHVH is My Light and My Salvation.
whom shall I fear?
YHVH is the Strength of My life.
Of whom shall I be afraid?

(Son about evildoers)

27:2 When evildoers came at Me to eat up My flesh,
even My adversaries and My foes,
they stumbled and fell.
27:3 Though an army should encamp against Me,
My heart shall not fear.
Though war should rise against Me,
even then I will be confident.

(Son about Father)

27:4 One thing I have asked of YHVH,
that I will seek after,
that I may dwell in the house of YHVH
all the days of My life, to see YHVH's beauty,
and to inquire in His temple.
27:5 For in the day of trouble
He will keep Me secretly in His pavilion.
In the covert of His tabernacle He will hide Me.
He will lift Me up on a rock.
27:6 Now My head will be lifted up
above My enemies around Me.
I will offer sacrifices of joy in His tent.
I will sing, yes, I will sing praises to YHVH.

(Son to Father)

27:7 Hear, YHVH, when I cry with My voice.
Have mercy also on Me, and answer Me.

(Son quotes Father and then quotes His Own answer)

27:8 When You said, “Seek My face,”
My heart said to You, “I will seek Your face, YHVH.”

(Son to Father)

27:9 Don’t hide Your face from Me.
Don’t put Your Servant away in anger.
You have been My Help.
Don’t abandon Me,
neither forsake Me, 'Elohiym of My salvation.
27:10 Even if My father and My mother forsake Me,
then YHVH will take Me up.
27:11 Teach Me Your way, YHVH.
Lead Me in a straight path, because of My enemies.
27:12 Don’t deliver Me over to
the desire of My adversaries,
for false witnesses have risen up against Me,
such as breathe out cruelty.
27:13 I am still confident of this:
I will see the goodness of YHVH
in the land of the living.

(Son to believers or Spirit to Son)

27:14 Wait for YHVH.
Be strong, and let Your heart take courage.
Yes, wait for YHVH.

The Son is in the Psalms. In the volume of the scroll it is written of Him. He came to do His Father's will.

Why do you add the words in parentheses? It's David praising and calling on the Lord for deliverance with, yes, echoes of the future Messiah, Jesus. But it is not divided up the way you have done it. You have read into it what is not there.

it is an attempt to "rightly divide the word of truth" as Paul had instructed Timothy in 2 Tim 2:15.

The writer of Hebrews showed us that the Father, Son and Spirit were speaking in the Psalms. He gave many instances showing us what They said in various Psalms and attributed the actual words to the Father, Son and Spirit. The writer of Hebrews revealed this but by no means exhausted the study of Their respective voices in the Psalms. That was left to us as the Holy Spirit opens the Psalms to us and shows us the Son and Father and Spirit speaking to Each Other and about One Another and in praise of Each Other in Their respective roles in creation and our Salvation.

Just as the writer of Hebrews showed us, the Psalms reveal so much in Their Own words. He only barely touched on the immense amount of revelation that is in the Psalms as an example for us to go even further.

If you look at Psalm 27 and Who is speaking to and about Whom and open you understanding, you will see that the headings are in most instances an exact fit. Once you realize that and read the Psalm with that understanding, it opens up the meaning and reveals so much about the Son and Father that is not available anywhere else in Scripture to the same extent. In Their Own Words to Each Other.

David is nowhere in that Psalm except that he was given the privilege of recording it as it was revealed to him by the Spirit.

It's understandable if nearly no one gets it. After all it has been about 3000 years now since many of the Psalms were written down and 2000 years since the Son prayed those prayers in His earthly life as He lived those Psalms. But just because most people do not see it doesn't mean it is not true.

The writer of Hebrews clearly understood Who was speaking in the Psalms and showed us. People should be willing to learn from the examples that were provided in the Letter to the Hebrews to whom were given the Psalms and oracles of YAH as Romans 3 tells us. Yet even today they do not see the Son and Messiah praying and speaking to His Father in the Psalms.

It does not matter if nearly no one sees it. The Psalms are mainly the Son and Father and Spirit speaking. So it has to be shown. What people do with that knowledge is up to them.

1 Corinthians 3:7

So then neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth; but EL(Theos, Elohim, YAH, God) that giveth the increase.

What of Psalm 51? Who said, "I know my transgressions, and my sin is always before me"? And who said, "Against You, You only have I sinned and done what is evil in Your sight"? And who was "sinful when my mother conceived me"?

A perfect example of how to wrongly divide the word of God.

The psalm is a divinely inspired prayer in a song or poetic form. The Holy Spirit empowering David to pray and sing

Man has a Psalm showing we break every commandment in the book from our hearts. we don't love YAH. we don't love our neighbor. David's sins show us it was not him speaking in the other Psalms. he committed murder and adultery and deception and coveting another man's wife and stole her and all the associated sins that accompany such behavior. Nothing against David specifically. we all have that nature at work in us naturally. You found a Psalm about us. yea for us. That also proves it is not David speaking in the other Psalms. Now go ahead and make excuses for David's uhhhh, indiscretions and then say the other Psalms are about David.

But of course you won't even admit to Psalm 119 being the Son's prayer for life because of His obedience to the law and His Father in offering His life to save us.

Also ignore what the writer of Hebrews showed us and taught us about the Psalms. Take it up with him. Is he wrong too?

That's what they thought through history but does not make them right. It is a big club though that hides the Son in the Psalms.

if you don't get a specific reply to questions in a post, it could be because you are on ignore. That doesn't mean your questions could not be answered. It means some previous posts in other threads were not appreciated.

Psalm 27:5 KJV
For in the time of trouble he shall hide me in his pavilion: in the secret of his tabernacle shall he hide me; he shall set me up upon a rock.

1 Corinthians 10:4 KJV
And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ.

  • The Son IS Life.
  • the speaker in Ps. 119 also confesses sin:
    • vv. 5-6, 29, 37, 41, 59, 67, 71, 76-77, 176

The Son became a Man and dwelt among us. That means He experienced life like us during His earthly time. YAH is His Rock as other Psalms tell us. In Psalm 31:3 He says speaking to the Father.

For You are My Rock and My Fortress, Therefore for Your Name's sake lead Me and guide Me.

We have to understand His humanity in addition to His Divinity. That is what the Psalms uniquely reveal to us in His Own words as He experienced it.

Here is Psalm 31 which is also one of His beautiful Psalms as a Man.

Psalm 31
For the Chief Musician. A Psalm by David.

(Son to Father during His suffering)

31:1 In You, YHVH, I take refuge.
Let Me never be disappointed.
Deliver Me in Your righteousness.
31:2 Bow down Your ear to Me.
Deliver Me speedily.
Be to Me a Strong Rock,
a House of Defense to save Me.
31:3 For You are My Rock and My Fortress,
therefore for Your Name’s sake lead Me and guide Me.
31:4 Pluck Me out of the net
that they have laid secretly for Me,
for You are My Stronghold.
31:5 Into Your hand I commend My Spirit. (do you recall Him saying this)
You redeem Me, YHVH, 'El of truth.
31:6 I hate those who regard lying vanities,
but I trust in YHVH.
31:7 I will be glad and rejoice in Your mercy,
for You have seen My affliction.
You have known My soul in adversities.
31:8 You have not shut Me up into the hand of the enemy.
You have set My feet in a large place.
31:9 Have mercy on Me, YHVH, for I am in distress.
My eye, My soul, and My body waste away with grief.
31:10 For My life is spent with sorrow,
My years with sighing.

(our sins were laid on Him as if they were His. He is the Lamb Who takes away the sins of the world)

My strength fails because of My iniquity.
My bones are wasted away.
31:11 Because of all My adversaries
I have become utterly Contemptible to My neighbors,
A fear to My acquaintances.
those who saw Me on the street fled from Me.
31:12 I am forgotten from their hearts like a dead Man.
I am like Broken Pottery.
31:13 For I have heard the slander of many,
terror on every side,
while they conspire together against Me,
they plot to take away My life.
31:14 But I trust in You, YHVH.
I said, “You are My 'Elohiym.”
31:15 My times are in Your hand.
Deliver Me from the hand of My enemies,
and from those who persecute Me.
31:16 Make Your face to shine on Your Servant.
Save Me in Your mercy.
31:17 Let Me not be disappointed, YHVH,
for I have called on You.
Let the wicked be disappointed.
Let them be silent in Sheol.
31:18 Let the lying lips be mute,
which speak against the Righteous insolently,
with pride and contempt.
31:19 Oh how great is Your goodness,
which You have laid up for those who fear You,
which You have worked for
those who take refuge in You,
before the sons of men!
31:20 In the shelter of Your presence
You will hide them from the plotting of man.
You will keep them secretly in a dwelling
away from the strife of tongues.
31:21 Blessed be YHVH,
for He has shown Me His marvelous mercy
in a strong city.
31:22 As for Me, I said in My haste,
“I am cut off from before Your eyes.”
Nevertheless You heard
the voice of My petitions when I cried to You.

(Son to believers about Father)

31:23 Oh love YHVH, all you His faithful!
YHVH preserves the believers,
and fully recompenses him who behaves arrogantly.
31:24 Be strong, and let your heart take courage,
all you who hope in YHVH.

The church, God's people, who God used to build and maintain the church for generations has been wrong all along, and now you have arrived with new secret knowledge. Huh? Smells rotten to me.
