Not silly at all. It was quite genius how he exposed the caller's heart. They wouldn't be "targeting" their OWN people with bombs.... the question is if they would adopt the same practices of "targeting" Hamas if they were in Israel.

It's a gotcha because it exposes that it's not just Hamas that Israel is targeting. They are targeting civilians, most of which are children. We agree though, Israel wouldn't utilize this strategy on their "OWN" people... Why not? Listen at the 7:00 mark of the video and the caller explains... "They would care more about Israeli life than Palestinian [civilian] lives."

It's difficult to reconcile that Israel supposedly "isn't trying to kill civilians" and then acknowledge that if Hamas was hiding within Israel the current strategy wouldn't be viable because they would actually care about their own civilian lives.

So when people ask "what strategy would you use"... the answer would be whatever the strategy used if Hamas was hiding within Israel. I don't view Israeli lives as more precious and sacred than Palestinian children. This illustrates the state of one's heart towards innocent life if you feel there is a difference.

So you admit that "targeting" Hamas and killing civilians is also targeting "their [Palestinian] own people". Finally, someone else admitting a truth they don't normally want to admit out loud.

Israel and pro-Israel people have been hiding behind the narrative that "Israel has the right to defend themselves" when we point out that they are blowing up more children than Hamas terrorists. They say "Israel isn't targeting the civilians, they are targeting Hamas". However, when the scenario is reversed, you say "Israel wouldn't target their own people". Exactly! You aren't grasping what you're admitting by saying this. You're explicitly stating that Israel would be targeting their own people when they "target Hamas" if they were hiding within Israel and used the same tactics. However, when Israel "targets Hamas" and kills more Palestinian children, you say "Israel isn't targeting them".

Read this a few times and I promise you'll understand what you just confessed.

No. Penned said that it's obvious Israel "would not target their own people" when asked if Israel would implement the same tactics if Hamas was hiding in Israel. He knows that "targeting" Hamas inside Israel with bombs would mean Israel would be blowing up more of their own civilians than actual Hamas terrorists... For this reason, Penned says "Only Captain Obvious would point out that a country or people wouldn’t target their own people to get to the enemy [Hamas]."

So there is contradicting sentiments and standards here:

Real Life: Hamas hiding in Gaza. "Targets Hamas but blows up more children than actual Hamas terrorists.
Justification: "Israel isn't targeting children, they are targeting Hamas."

Hypothetical Scenario: Hamas hiding in Israel. Blows up more Israeli civilians than actual Hamas terrorists.
Objection: "Israel wouldn't target their own people to kill Hamas."

So it's NOT "targeting Palestinian children" when they "target Hamas"... but it WOULD be "targeting Israelis" if they "target Hamas" hiding inside Israel....
