You do not understand war.
Too funny!!!

You guys are cracking me up today, states the person who at most every turn dismisses/downplays the Geo-Historical Political roots and most importantly Economic roots of this conflict.

I remain entirely dismayed that your clumsy, errant, ignorant, unconvincing, incongruous and ineffective attempts at exegesis have no value whatsoever.

Still.....where there is life there is hope.
So you have no answer for YOU then?

The cynical view is noted. Money and natural resources is often an underlying reason for war.
I can't fully deny being cynical when it comes to governments and war. I've shamefully admitted to voting for George Bush in 2004. I thought he was a man of God and wanted to fight terrorists. I believed everything his administration said about 9/11, the weapons of mass destruction, the war in Iraq, etc... I was a teenager then and extremely naive. I've repented for how I voted, I've learned what really happened, and had a thirst to learn about all of history ever since. The more I learn, the more I see that history just repeats.

While it's true one doesn't have to be one or the other, I suppose I'm grateful to be cynical about governmental powers and their evil works rather than be naive to them.

I wasn't speaking to the history of warfare, but how war is actually waged. Not the classroom, but the battlefield.

Israel has the most prepared military in the world because they are always under threat.
It would seem some are largely inclined or prefer to ignore this fact when considering the psychology of those involved.

I would really love to see no more civilians, adults or children, die in this war.
I don't know what would be more effective with that goal in mind. I would think that a ground invasion, going house to house might be less destructive of civilians, but I don't know that.
There are conflicting stories.... the Palestinians were told to leave, then Hamas prevented them from doing so. Some say the Israelis prevented them from doing so.

Either way, when an army is trying to root out the enemy, and the enemy hides behind civilians, it's almost impossible to prevent civilian casualties.

I suppose Israel could just back off and do nothing, but Hamas is still firing rockets into Israel, targeting civilians.... should they just suck it up and allow that to continue?

That would be untrue so there is that.
It remains my belief until I see otherwise. And my responses to you are not personal. We may disagree, but I have no ill feelings towards you. Even within the ranks of military command there are opposing views on how to proceed. And there are no Christians who hold every doctrine in common.

Have fun buddy. Maybe watch a few John Wayne WW2 movies for a warm-up?
I have most of John Wayne's movies recorded. I can watch them over and over.
At my old age, in about three (3) weeks I forget what the movie was about so I can continue to re-watch them as if it was for the first.

Would Israel and the Palestinians want to have their future determined by a Japanese court?
The Zionist fate has already been determined.

All you need to do now is buy a big bag of popcorn, sit by your TV and watch the biblical prophecy fulfilled.

God’s words are written in the Holy Bible and the following is what He said-----
Thou shalt be for fuel to the fire; thy blood shall be in the midst of the land; thou shalt be no more remembered: for I the LORD have spoken it.

& so; it is being done in your lifetime;
According to a 2002 study by the Jewish Agency, "the number of Jews in the world is declining at an average of 50,000 per year."

Oh right,

45 Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his lord hath made ruler over his household, to give them meat popcorn in due season?

46 Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing.

He Is Here doesn't do well with people telling the truth... or maybe it's just women he can't handle. Either way, very touchy.

So you have no answer for YOU then?
Of course I do. Luke 13:35.
Which I have already expanded upon......in devastating fashion. See my earlier posts.

Your problem is you have no answer for "until". And it seems as if you never will.

You're bigger problem: despising Israel and kicking them to the curb also means despising prophecy and turning your back on God's word. A very dangerous predicament indeed.

Likewise Satan and his demon generals and human minions also desire the destruction of the nation Israel and the deaths of all those of the house of Jacob.

So you are in good company. If you are evil that is. And the thing is......Satans human minions end up in the lake of fire with him for eternity.

A page or two back, I shared a video of a report posing the question if Israel would adopt the same strategy if Hamas was hiding within Israel (bombing homes/buildings they suspect Hamas was in or near). Penned (who I respect btw) said Captain Obvious would know that Israel wouldn't target their own people to get to Hamas. This question extracts the truth without the person even being aware of it. Israel ISN'T targeting Palestinian civilians when they target Hamas in Gazas, but Israel would be targeting "their own people" if they adopt the say strategy if Hamas was hiding inside Israel.
thats not really a fair comparison because Israel controls their own territory.

what Hamas does is such things as put weapons caches under apartment buildings and launch rockets from schools and hospitals, and military operations centers in the middle of neighborhoods. they literally as a deliberate strategy use Palestinian civilian citizens as human shields so that when Israel retaliates they can flood the press with stories about how the IDF kills civilians - including a lot of fake videos exaggerating the situation.

so how is the IDF supposed to respond?
it's very difficult. you can't just do nothing, but anything you do, there is going to be collateral damage, and it is going to be severely criticized in the court of public opinion.
