Being religious or being a Christian

Christianity is used in a more lax and vague sense to mean one who professes the religion of Jesus Christ.

Philip, i would like to make you aware of a few contradictions here.

If being religious means external or outwardly expression then the best thing to do is reject the world and our 5 senses that the God has given to us and become a monk who lives alone in the dessert, island or forest being grateful to God 24/7 seeking immediate union.
Yet here we are saying we're not religious.
Because if we are to throw out our eyes and enter in the worshipping of Jesus Christ, then this is the level of dedication that is required. Living in a cell 24/7 praying and worshiping with nothing but your walls.

Also how do we know we're not religious ourselves when we mix politics with spirituality? Or confuse spiritual teachings and parables with legal or technical meaning?

Have you thought about that maybe different denominational religions in Christianity have at their core a genuine love and a desire to please God with their own methods according to their culture and time?
Have you thought about that instead of seeing this as a right/wrong idea or accept/reject idea, it could be a way which shows everyone's unique love for God in their hearts as long as they're not in-bliss about their dogma?

Let me begin by pointing out the differences between being religious and being called Christian. Being Religious is the external worship, ceremonies, rites, and obligations individuals feel in their mind, specifically to any relationship they may have with a superior power. Today, the word is also used synonymously with a sect, but in a practical sense, it is generally considered the same as godliness. Those who claim to be religious involve themself in devotional and ritual ceremonies and hold to particular moral codes that govern their conduct in human affairs.

Most entertain narratives and symbols and derive morality, ethics, law, and lifestyles from the idea of the universe. Their histories intended to explain the meaning and origin of life, and for some, it’s a mystic experience. Politically and conventionally, Christianity is used in a more lax and vague sense to mean one who professes the religion of Jesus Christ. Neither do Christians belong to other divisions, as do the Jews, Islamists, deists, pagans, or atheists. But in a more strict, scriptural, and theological sense, a Christian is a person who believes the gospel, imbibes the Holy Spirit, is influenced by grace, and is obedient to the will of Jesus Christ.

Religious people may pray with beads, offer gifts on an altar, light candles, or hold to special days they consider holy, days like Easter, Christmas, or, in the case of Islam, Ramadan. As for those who believe there is no God, they honor and worship the creation and not the Creator, speaking about the environment, water, land, etc., but never about God. A faithful Christian will add nothing to their worshipping of Jesus Christ.

No Magenta, Jesus' religion was definitely not Judaism, which is actually based on the traditions of men (as He told the Pharisees). Jesus was a Torah observant Hebrew who went far beyond the letter of the Law. He healed on Sabbath days and was hated for it. But He kept the Law like no one else -- perfectly.

How about a new religion that would bring you to your knees 🙂

We gunna get called religious whether we like it or not. I've always loved Paul's description
"true religion is righteousness, joy and peace and friendship with God"

Religious just means "relating to or believing in a religion." Religious isn't the "bad word" some make it out to be.

I don't like the name religion. In my opinion, religion has limitations. Religion rejects scientific knowledge. God's wisdom is not only religious. Of course, knowledge is only a supplement to the knowledge in the Bible. First, as a believer, believe in God's Word, and then enrich God's Word with all kinds of knowledge.
