America on the edge

I’ve been around for many years and have seen many changes. Fortunately, a teen growing up in the fifties soon after World War II ended. I was there when Korea and Vietnam started and when we encountered the many Middle East crises. That generation is gone, and two new generations have come. America now appears ready to lose its gifts and blessings from God. We are challenging God on every point, standing face to face and with pointed fingers! Have we become so entangled in the devil’s snare, unable to free ourselves?

Paul warns us,

2 Timothy 3:1, “In the last day’s perilous times shall come; for men shall be ---

1. Lovers of self.

2. Covetous.

3. Boasters.

4. Proud.

5. Blasphemers.

6. Disobedient to parents.

7. Unthankful.

8. Unholy.

9. Without natural affections.

10. Trucebreakers (irreconcilable)

11. False accusers.

12. Without self-control.

13. Fierce,

14. Despisers of those that are good.

15. Traitors.

16. Heady (reckless,)

17. High-minded (haughty,)

18. Lovers of pleasure, more than lovers of God.

19. “Having a form of godliness; but denying the power, from such things turn away.”

Concerning the seen and unseen things that threaten America, we are incapable of moving away from them or unable to brace ourselves against them. It appears increasingly evident that we have been preparing ourselves for that inevitable fall, which now lies precariously close.

We have become weighed down by the influential anchors of lust, greed, and pride, having unlocked the door of safekeeping from within. We stand on the edge of a cliff, waving our fists at God’s blessing, justice, righteousness, and ultimate sacrifice!

Most Americans appear incapable of stepping back from that edge, living on the breath of every new technological device and longing for the promises of a fuller and richer tomorrow. Yet to what end do we despair about every new tomorrow and its unknown?

Are we satisfied with long explanations? Does any authority satisfy us? Have we become so content with the material things of this world that God no longer matters? A new order of priests has arisen, every man becoming a priest unto himself!

Our thoughts support neither death nor immortality nor hope or remorse, and whatever has taken their place, it’s being judged to be neither good nor bad. America has become awash in tasteless shades of gray as it makes its shrill sounds and rages in turmoil.

God’s blessings and warnings are composed of powerful words, fuller and more promising than the shrill voices of men. His words have been cut in stone by the finger of His hand and etched into the hardest of hearts. And from the distant past of the prophets of God come the voices of promise, hope, peace, saving grace, and a loving Savior, heard only by those who trust in Him.

The light that lights the world will pierce the blackest of darkness as a flaming arrow that is seen cutting across a midnight sky. “Quicken me O Lord with your loving kindness for I am a broken man!” For our Christ is the resurrection and the life, and for those who believe in Him though they were dead, they shall live.

The old man has been made alive, a new thing adventured, a sleeping heart awakened, and a tormented soul healed. There is still hope for America and its people, young and old alike; all we need to do is humble ourselves before his mighty presence and ask for His forgiveness.

Well nothing should surprise us. Jesus said perilous times will come, people will turn away from God and be deceived by the charisma of the antichrist. I think we need to be shining lights by showing the love Jesus has, He told us to do that. We can all reach those around us as well as keep growing in faith/belief in the Word and guided by the Holy Ghost✨

That is putting it mildly. America is now facing divine judgment and the wrath of God.

God raised up the United States to be a beacon of liberty and justice for all. But that would only be true if all Americans reminded themselves that it was the Christian Pilgrims and the Puritans who came to America for religious freedom, and they were all believers. Therefore the fear of God should rule the lives of all.

At the same time Satan has been constantly at work to make Americans reject Christ and go after other gods. Just as he worked on the nation of Israel to go after other gods. Now we know that abortion is a Satanic ritual and yet the Democrats have made abortion (infanticide) one of the pillars of their ideology. Sacrificing infants to Moloch will -- in itself -- bring divine judgment.

in the end times God will poor his spirit out on all from the least too.

But have you wondered if that scripture should be for the end days of every living person to before end times.

It would seem plausible to me, that every living being should have the same opportunity to say, lord I know you, or for all individuals from the least to the old to not say, they did not know him.

For a world that is driven by all that you say is now , would be no different to how end times would be.


Our lord is all powerful and big enough to deal with all you write, whilst we can only imagine what that must be like, this responsibly is to great for us.

And we could not carry such a burden the lord is to greater the lord is there to lighten our load,

The joy of our lord is our strength and this is where we place are trust,
This is where we must concentrate our hope, for the encouragement of others we must act with hope for a future.

For further emphasis, the closing words of 2 Timothy 3.

2 Timothy 3:12-17 Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution. But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived. But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them; And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.

You are simply misapplying and misunderstanding that truth. The whole world will come under divine judgments in the near future, including America. And because America had more in every way, the judgment will also be more severe.

Have you read Joel 2 on the bases that prophecies spoken are all in context of here now and distant future.

Great troubles and turmoil will descend on the world this year but will not be the time of the covenant with many

there are so many examples in the Bible how people rebelled against God & they lost it all. that's america too. little by little, making laws contrary to the 10 commandments, allowing sinful behavior to be normal, feeding people who should be working & aren't, (2nd Thess. 3:10), etc. it'll be a miracle if we escape this pool of sin & follow Jesus again.

Was America blessed?

Interesting question. I was reading a book by former first lady Michelle Obama a follow up to Becoming called The Light We Carry. She didnt really mention God at any point, but reflected on the state of the nation, where things just seemed impossible.

Even when you live and work, in the White House and born and grew up in that country it seems someone will make it known to you that you just dont belong.

In her other book American Grown, it seemed like nobody can even grow fresh food in some areas its not allowed, hence food deserts. Its not even the case that all rich people living a good life are christians and all poor people who are starving are bad and unbelievers. Its easy to assume so for some though.

my takeaway from that book was she was mostly disappointed that millions of people didnt vote for another term of the Obamas.

I dont know what that admin did, but maybe the american public needed a change. I dont think anyone can stay in power for too long or able to please everyone thats the way it is.


A lot of people find it easy to take the Lords name in vain though (profess christianity, but dont do it) and thats probably true of most politicians.

I thought Joel 2 was a revelation

Salvation, Revelation, False Prophecies, Doom and gloom, fear etc.
It's interesting to see that Philip thinks he uniquely arrived at this doctrine all by himself after leaving the Catholic church.
