Ghost towns in China are the "canary in the coal mine" that has died telling you what is going on. Robotics, machine learning, AI, and 3D printing has pulled the rug out on the growth of China's manufacturing. This will sweep the world as this new suite of technology will replace 80% of workers.

Yes, your angle here is "They took our jobs". I get it. And again, i'm assuming this is not a fear-based post.

You don't get it. These people would have voted "No" on the poll, I voted "Yes".

I would have preferred if one of the options were "Let the kingdom of the Lord come and Let His will be done", but the closest option I could find was "Yes".

There is a lot of stupidity in the interviews and youtube videos on this topic.

People carelessly throw out foolishness like "we thought the car would take away jobs, but it just created new ones". Really, what new jobs do horses have? Cars and combines replaced horses and oxen. The only business still employing cattle is McDonald's.

During the industrial revolution we were the "brains", the machines were the brawn.

The reason we didn't see a loss of jobs was because we were spreading into new markets in the developing world. But once you reach 100% saturation, there are no new markets to feed the beast. Look at China, every new advance in AI, Machine learning, robotics, and 3d printing takes away a large swath of their jobs. That has become plain over the last 8 years.

But 2023 was the first time we saw it take major jobs away in the white collar sector. It is a lot cheaper, easier and faster to implement software to replace people than robots. This change will be so fast you might get whiplash.

ah but what happens if the worlds doctors are subject to a major pandemic
The concerns are major pandemics becoming more frequent is a reason for cyBorg doctors to act on there own authority
As i said, i don't want a fully aware AI with it's own intelligence and self awareness and free will.
However just because there might be a new pandemic, it doesn't mean that a new self-aware AI will be created.
It takes A LOT of work to do this you know?
Like putting the hadron collider together.

No, I am congratulating the ingenuity as we watch this new beast system rise unlike any previous empire. I am one of only 3 people on this thread who said yes to the question should we let this evolve. I would have preferred the choice "there is nothing we can do to stop it from evolving" but that wasn't there, so the closest I could find was "yes".

Now I get that the powers that be would be alarmed that 6 people said no. Are these revolutionaries? Anarchists? But no worries, all they need to do is fully surveil your phone, and your social media, and implement the mark of the beast to completely surveil and control everything you buy and sell. But all these things they are doing or are rolling out, so they know that.

So why should anyone be fearful? Jesus and the apostles all told us this was exactly where we were headed. What you are looking at is Satan's last, best counterfeit to the kingdom of the heavens.

Many people get very upset with the NT because the prophecies state that the number who die will be very great. But that is because they are "useless eaters". Not the Bible that says that, they themselves say that, this is not my judgement, it is theirs. The one job that AI doesn't do is tell the machine what it wants. In the beginning God spoke and it was so. You have to tell it what car to make, what color, where to build the factory, they want to be god and this is the closest they can come. I find it fascinating, and at the same time it turns me to the Lord Jesus and reminds me I need my treasure in heaven because all this stuff is going to burn.
Well, in this aspect i take a different approach to change.
Change is inevitable so i am at peace with that because i am at peace with Jesus told us that this will happen and He will return, like you said.
So, i have nothing to fear or worry.

I can do the verse vs verse style of discussion too.

Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go. Joshua 1:9

Elon Musk’s Disturbing Prediction About AI

So much for the 2050 prediction. 2029 is when they (Elon Musk and Ray Kurzweil) anticipate AGI.

"Over 80% of human jobs will be automated and the value of human ingenuity will undergo a seismic shift" -- not my opinion, direct quote from the above article a little more than 5 minutes in.

Sounds a lot like the BS Generator. Are you familiar with the BS generator by the way? BS generator was a thing before "AI" became popular as a phrase.

Check it out. It has helped many "professionals" polish their resumes.

A Walmart superstore employs about 300 people. However, Walmart is beginning to have "drive through". You order online, then you drive up, they put the stuff in your car and you drive away. If they become exclusively drive through then you can eliminate 80% of those jobs and have that same superstore operate with 60 people.

You only need two things for this to work, everyone who shops at Walmart needs a credit card or debit card, and they all need access to the internet. If you have those two things it is easier and faster to use the drive through. Also, for a small yearly fee you can get free delivery. The fee works out to about 2 hours of labor because 1,000 people pay for one full time delivery person.

Once you do that you don't need a car anymore.

I think the fee might be as low as $49 a year, don't know, but whatever it is, it is much, much cheaper than owning a car.

This goes back to taking things as a whole, similarly like the Bible. Not take one word or sentence and use that as fact.
Elon Musk provides competition for the others in the field. He does it mainly to counter-view their leftist agendas. This is what he did with the purchase of Twitter which he said that if it fails, it will be my greatest gift to humanity.
In principle Musk does not like AI to evolve.
And yes, just like any eccentric billionaire he wants to go to Mars and build an apartment there.

So this youtube channel promotes sensationalism. Like any regular "news" channel.

"Move along, Nothing to see here!" Got it.

I understand your posts, but I listen to the Lord, and so far what He is telling me is that we are watching the Beast system rise in front of our eyes.

Revelation 13:1 And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy.

The US government plans to go all-in on using AI. But it lacks a plan, says a government watchdog

The 96-page report released Tuesday marks the US government’s most comprehensive effort yet to catalog the more than 200 ways in which non-military agencies already use artificial intelligence or machine learning, and the more than 500 planned applications for AI in the works.

I mean, we could argue that the Beast could have come at any point during the history of technology in human history but the Beast didn't come.
So this is a mindset approach in how to anticipate change. With anxiety or with peace.

The Pentagon’s Rush to Deploy AI-Enabled Weapons Is Going to Kill Us All
While experts warn about the risk of human extinction, the Department of Defense plows full speed ahead.
MICHAEL T. KLARE

“Humanity is about to cross a major threshold of profound importance when the decision over life and death is no longer taken by humans but made on the basis of pre-programmed algorithms. This raises fundamental ethical issues,” Amb. Alexander Kmentt, Austria’s chief negotiator for disarmament, arms control, and nonproliferation, told The Nation.
