Pakistan is a nation of contrasts.
Pakistan should never have come into existence. Hindus and Muslims had lived side by side in India for a long time, and had Muhammad Ali Jinnah never come on the scene, Pakistan, India, and Bangladesh would have all remained one big sub-continent (which was the case under the British). Jinnah promised to cause trouble if there was no partition.

When the British were compelled to leave India through the efforts of Mahatma Gandhi (and many others) they were not content to leave the country as it had been. While Jinnah demanded the partition of India, Gandhi was opposed to it. In the end the idea of partition prevailed, and cost many lives and great animosity.

India became a secular democratic republic with an excellent constitution (which is now being undermined) and Pakistan became a Muslim nation (now Islamist), and democracy was thrown out the window. There has generally been military rule over there, with sham prime ministers and sham elections.

Then Islamist Jihad began, and the Pakistani leaders began to support terrorism and the Taliban. But the USA refused to fully stand with democratic India, and poured billions of dollars into Pakistan instead. Well guess what? They used that money to build nuclear weapons in order to threaten India (or even bomb India). So the general population has remained in poverty and turmoil, while the Pakistani elite go one with their nonsense. After the declaration of Jihad, the general population has begun to hate India as well as the West, but that makes no difference to the governments of the USA. They continue to foolishly support Pakistan (which has been tricking the USA all along). And the persecution of Christians in Pakistan has been an ongoing problem. But now Christians in India are also being persecuted by Hindus under Prime Minister Modi.

Agree 100%. Many national problems have been caused by the former colonial powers dividing up nations according to what suited them, not what suited the inhabitants. Africa is a basket case because of this. But God has allowed this to happen and it will be to His glory eventually.
