I was saved at 16; a school classmate shared the gospel and I repeated the sinner's prayer over the phone! I was water baptized (immersion) at the age of 23 when I was a 2nd year university student and received my Spirit baptism in the same year.
One extra sharing; while many of my undergrad friends were busily finding a future spouse and preparing their career (nothing wrong with that), I chose to commit my free time sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ. Upon graduation, not only I got a good job, I met my future wife!

It sure sounds like you had your priorities in order, many of us could take a lesson from your story. I wonder, is it difficult to share the gospel in Singapore? It is majority Muslim, if I'm not mistaken?
