Agreed to that sentiment 100%
IMO, the only way a person can come up with all the other variables, is if they do mashups with scripture and simply ignore anything that they find too difficult to force into their doctrine

Amen!
Scripture can only have a false meaning because people choose to present it in a false way.

God typically only speaks through people who already serve Him. These people were choosing who to serve. Clearly was not God speaking through them.
he speak inwardly to everyone but many dont listen so he chooses one man who will make them listen

And I've just shown several quotes saying just that

Would you like another one, I've got hundreds.

what I also take note of, is the fact that God says people are without excuse for the way they are, from Romans 1

18The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of men who suppress the truth by their wickedness. 19For what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. 20For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood from His workmanship, so that men are without excuse.

21For although they knew God, they neither glorified Him as God nor gave thanks to Him, but they became futile in their thinking and darkened in their foolish hearts. 22Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools, 23and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images of mortal man and birds and animals and reptiles.

24Therefore God gave them over in the desires of their hearts to impurity for the dishonoring of their bodies with one another. 25They exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is forever worthy of praise!f Amen.

there is alot to unpack in those verses right there

That is just the scariest thing though because this is one of the ways false teaching forms and propagates. I always pray that God helps me to accept His ways no matter how hard it may be to accept!

Hey, Niki... I have a question for you. Did Jeremiah have a choice?

Yeah, this was the verse that came to mind.

This is a grave warning to "men who suppress the truth by their wickedness." This is no doubt why, when Jesus talked about Hell, that He was usually addressing the religious leaders of His day.

Nobody belongs to the devil, that's not a good box you have there

People only belong to God.

John 1 says everything that has been made has been made by Jesus.
In the creative sense, All were brought into existence by God and nothing was brought into existence apart from the Son.

However, I was not speaking in the "creative" sense... I was speaking in the ownership or relational sense of the two groups. One belongs to Christ and the other to the Devil.

You said: "People only belong to God." Not according to Jesus Christ:

John 8:41-47 Ye do the works of your father. They said unto him, We were not born of fornication; we have one Father, even God. (42)
Jesus said unto them, If God were your Father, ye would love me: for I came forth and am come from God; for neither have I come of myself, but he sent me. (43) Why do ye not understand my speech? Even because ye cannot hear my word. (44) Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father it is your will to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and standeth not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father thereof. (45) But because I say the truth, ye believe me not. (46) Which of you convicteth me of sin? If I say truth, why do ye not believe me? (47) He that is of God heareth the words of God: for this cause ye hear them not, because ye are not of God.

The Lord, here, was not speaking of the creative sense but as to their relationship.

my brother and I had a good conversation about the word of God yesterday and how the devil wants to steal it, misrepresent it and basically try to change what is says.

Jesus said the devil comes only to steal, kill and destroy (John 10:10)

God is not a liar, but the devil misrepresents Him as such. if the word we believe in is stolen, then what do we have? the devil (all that kingdom) is free to come in and kill and destroy

everybody is prob familiar with the parable of the sower which reflects similar in different words

you showed me something 🙂

I'll show you something

21 And the people said unto Joshua: 'Nay; but we will serve the LORD.'

The people had heard the lord speak to them inwardly

22 And Joshua said unto the people: 'Ye are witnesses against yourselves that ye have chosen you the LORD, to serve Him.--And they said: 'We are witnesses.'--

Joshua had heard the lord to

23 Now therefore put away the strange gods which are among you, and incline your heart unto the LORD, the God of Israel.'

The people had also heard the false messages to.

24 And the people said unto Joshua: 'The LORD our God will we serve, and unto His voice will we hearken.'

Finally the people got it 🙂

Why would one think Jeremiah didn't have a choice?
There's nothing in chapter 1 that says God forced Jeremiah.
Jeremiah is much like Moses in questioning God.
People who are forced are not ever allowed to question.

…but God never forces anyone.

It's a wonderful thing to have this connection between You and Your Brother. He sounds like a great sounding board to talk to and feel the truth of scripture out with.

why did Jesus say ye do the works of the devil.

Is there any chance he never wanted them to or they had not heard that message before inwardly 🙂
