Demonic possession in objects

My husband is a woodworker and was selling a cross. A woman was feeling the cross and then asked if he could make a Pentagram. It was so bizarre and took him by surprise.

We then started talking about demons and how she didn't burst into flames so I guessed she wasn't a demon. To which he responded that it wasn't blessed by a priest so it wouldn't be relevant. We also thought it was a trickster move, something a demon would do bc they love to trick.

Then we spoke about objects that are possessed and went down that rabbithole. How are demons trapped in inanimate objects such as the famous Annabelle? Which is at a museum. What is the reason? To get close to a child? Is there any scripture for it?

I don't know if there's any scripture for it; but I do know of plenty of scriptures about the great salvation and peace we have in Christ.

In one of our Bible studies we talked about when Jesus sent the demon named Legion into a heard of swines which then committed suicide by jumping from a high cliff and into the water.

We don’t understand why God had to this this but we argued that it had something to do with the rules of this fallen world for now where evil cannot be completely destroyed or obliterated until permanently casted into the fire after the second coming.

Some members of the bible study even suggested a sort of compassion that God might have for Satan himself but most of us didn’t agree to that view since it starts bordering on Universalism and the concept of Salvation itself and things start to get more confusing.

I personally have never encountered any evil spirits and I don’t want to, but the priests that I have talked to have told me a few cases of very strange possessions of people and objects for which they had to deal with.

A famous show in TV right now is one on history channel called The Skinwalker Ranch which is a ranch in Utah where the place is littered with evil spirits and UFO sightings.
The cameramen of the show had to leave the show because he would get burned marks on his skin when entering certain spaces or areas of the ranch and he would also have tormenting dreams.
So, unholy and evil spirits do exists and are active in many areas of the world for unknown reasons.

We also need to understand the difference when we’re dealing with the real thing or when we’re dealing with people who want to troll Christians or when dealing with commercialism.
Since I live in Massachusetts I had to visits once the town of Salem, the famous witch town.
All I saw there was a whole town trying to gain financially from this history of the town.
-Hey young man come here and I’ll read your hand for $100.
-Yeah sure thing lady. Find another tourist to rip off.
There was nothing serious there basically besides people trying to make money off this witch topic.

So use discernment when dealing with this topic of evil possessions.

Is any object evil in and of itself? Or, is it the heart of man that makes the object evil? Just wondering.

Case in point: The rainbow. We know God created it, but look at what man has turned it into a symbol of....

Other examples: Celebration of Christmas, Easter. Pagans made these days "evil", but the Church made them worthy days to celebrate Jesus.

The heart of man can pervert and/or cleanse almost anything. Jesus said that whatever you put first in your life/heart is your God.

There is no Scripture which says that demons are trapped in inanimate objects. They do possess humans as we know from the Bible (the only reliable source for spiritual matters). There has probably been an increase in demonic activity recently.

Evil is in this world. been here since day one of the fall of the first Adam who ate from that tree in "Unbelief" to God. the the would die if he ate.
Death has been here on earth ever since.

He did not come here to earth to be King of Earth. He came to be King of Heaven for us to enter in by belief to his done work for us all.

So, yes to this: Earth world is cursed and not of God or is it? We each get to decide between God and us each personally first. Me, I see me as dead to this earth, that is me, thanks
And yes objects have attachments to them from people of them. What?????????????????????????? yes, people channel things, unfortunately, all those that choose evil do that behind peoples backs who act as if they believe, yet you will know who is who and what is what, by God for you, never against you in continued belief to God, thanks to God Psalms 100:4, 103:12
Might be time to purge attachments, and not by fear either, by hearing Father and Son as Won for you to be free from this evil world, we all are in and either of it or not of it anymore in belief to God as Son is Risen for us to be freed in and stand in Col 1:21-23 for me to see and stand, thank you.
Have, even a modicum of doubt in what is done for us all, then you cause your own troubles in not getting and staying established by God to you as said in Isaiah 7:9 start from verse 1

I believe God took all sin out of the way for us the people to now be able in confidence, even though had sinned again, and ask to be taught new in belief to son is risen for you too.

I know people can talk about anything but I am surprised to see a subject about demonic possessed items. I think your husband and you need to spend more time in the Scriptures and less time watching horror or SyFy movies.

There is no Warehouse 13, Demons do not possess inanimate objects nor houses. There are no Genies, nor Jinn. There is no such thing as Ghosts and Christ does not appear in screen doors.

There is scripture that says the objects can be cursed ----but nothing that says they are possessed -----

We live in the country in the U.S. A certain bird began attacking our widows. He would begin a dawn and end at dusk. It was typical for some birds to do this during mating season so we did not think much of it. But then, the same bird, continued his assault in the fall and winter. That was not typical. I installed deterrents on the bedroom windows where he was most disruptive. The bird just chose a different window.

His incessant behavior disturbed my wife the most in the summer. As a teacher she had summers off. The bird assaulted the house all day, every day. Finally, I had to act. By this time we had been disturbed by the bird for months. Finally, as I was praying one night I asked the Lord to deliver the bird into my hands.

Two days later my wife roused me from bed. She said, honey, I think the bird is trapped on our sun porch. Sure enough it was him. I donned gloves and caught him. His species is typically bright and beautiful. This one looked mangled and grotesque, many of his feathers were dark and grey and he had several bald patches. But there he was in my hands. I thanked the Lord for delivering the bird to my hands.

Yes, we spoke about Jesus sending the demons into swines too. I'm not sure why either. But I think maybe it had to do with their faith....according to their faith it would be done. I don't know if that's a spiritual law...I just picture Jesus cringing when sending them there. Idk why. He had to have known it would be a disaster so it seems like there must be a law attached to it.

The skinwatcher ranch sounds interesting. We like scary movies, but are not interesting in actually encountering evil spirits! We won't be traveling anywhere like that. 🤣 even in a museum I don't want near that stuff. I just think it's so strange they are trapped in it. Reminds me of a genie in a lamp type of thing.

There was demon possession in the Bible.

Very interesting video! I actually never thought about dream catchers. I made one when I was a little kid and hung it above my bed. I always had nightmares.... and it did not work. However that year was the worst year of my life and is actually when my grandfather died. I don't think the catcher had anything to do with it, but it's still creepy. And my grandfather was native American. Never even thought about it being a form of witchcraft.

I love when the Lord is so direct like that. That would creep me out too with the bird.

Hi.. not going to dive into this but there is scripture for demons that can possess objects. People, places yes. They make things move all the time so to make some doll do anything .. yeah not a demon possessed doll. We have all power and authority over them.. by the blood of JESUS Christ. We don't play with this stuff we don't talk to them.. just by the authority of Jesus Christ I command you to leave in JESUS name.

Very, very true. Demonic possessions did take place at various times in the Scriptures. Usually, so that the one casting the demon out of another person, would be seen by others and thus be another sign to the Jews that this person was genuine and had the authority from God to speak and do great things.

More often than possessions, people might be temporarily influenced by a Demon. This is one of the reasons why our Lord, in His example prayer for us, told us to pray these words: "keep us from the evil one."

However, Demons do not possess inanimate objects. Nor do they possess whom ever they please. God is Sovereign and still in control.

I am not exactly sure what you are getting at, and I don't have any Bible verses at the tip of my tongue, but these are some things I have learned via prophecy and walking with God.

First off, angels but not demons can appear as humans. Demons can appear as monsters.

Second, yes, they can choose to possess an object. I have not heard of them being trapped there, but I have seen and heard of them using props. For example, one year I wondered why a particular Halloween decoration on my commute bothered me excessively. One day I realized there was a fallen spirit on it, using it to work fear - a major tool of Satan. Another time, I had some old toys out while babysitting and a spirit decided to take over a troll doll among them.
