How do you relate to God?

One of the threads here made me think about what my relationship to God looks like. The question made me smile and even giggle a bit, because I have an almost child-like relationship to Him. I can see myself in His lap when things are chaotic around me, but when I am there, I feel safe and at peace, knowing that He is in control. I can rebel against what I know it is right, and He lets me to a certain point, and then I see I was wrong. Again. He is patient and kind and almighty and I accept that with a child-like faith. Sometimes He makes me see things from a new perspective, and the whole problem or obstacle just looks silly and not a problem at all
It doesn't mean I don't fear or disrespect Him, but it means I am having a living and dynamic relationship with Him. God doesn't change, but we change when we accept Jesus and walk with Him. And as we change and mature, then our relationship evolves as well.

The more I learn about Him
The more I figure out
I'll never figure Him out

But the more I learn about Him
The more I understand
That's okay

God, indeed, is the Father Who takes great care of His children. Thanks be to Jesus for leading us to his Father!

Not even close to seeing God this way.

For me, at one point things being said about God at church had me overwhelmed and unsure how to relate to Him, so I asked Him for a way. He drew my attention to the sky. No, the sky isn't itself God, nor is God limited to the sky, but the metaphor works because there is an interface point between me and God/the sky, but both go on infinitely beyond what I can see and understand.
