Your heart has abandoned love
Your heart has abandoned peace
Your heart has abandoned all of the above
And everything around that won’t appease.

Your heart has abandoned light
Your heart has abandoned truth
Your heart has abandoned the prayer that every night
You gave about everyone and you.

To pretend to be okay and just smile
As if any of us couldn’t see it from a mile
You think you can lie to God as you lie to others
You think that being this way no longer matters.

Your heart has abandoned joy
Your heart has abandoned mercy
Your heart has ignored all of the ploys
That the darkness’ lurking privy.

Your heart has abandoned faith
Your heart has abandoned hope
You heart has abandoned everything that takes
To hold onto all that helps to cope.

To walk and talk as if there was no hurt
As if any of us couldn’t understand just how absurd
To think you can cover the sun with your hands
As if there wasn’t someone keeping you up to stand.

Don’t you know that God can repair all that is broken?
Don’t you know that God can forgive any and all transgressions?
Don’t you know He waits for you with his heart and arms open?
Don’t you know He’s the Lord of Restoration, the God of Redemption?
