I was ghosted once. Looking back, I think I was clingy, so I don’t really blame him lol. I would’ve preferred for him to say he didn’t want to talk to me anymore, but I’m sure I wouldn’t have received it well. But praise the Lord! I met my husband shortly after I was ghosted. So previous dude moved out of the way so I could make a new friend lol.

And this is the issue, and this is why it does sometimes hurt. When someone wants you in their lives, they make an effort. When they don't, you know the deal.

I think it is harmful both to the ghoster and the ghostee not to get a closure, and it is not a Christian way of shaking the dust off the sandals. Aelred of Rievaulex wrote a 1000 years ago-ish about maintaining friendships and how they can give you a glimpse of God's Kingdom on earth, but also how to end destructive friendships with kindness, and I think that is the way forward. Both online and IRL.

I will agree. One reason I don't like the internet. It's more often than not for people who want relationships they can control, and not ones in which they run the risk of getting genuinely close to someone. This is a general statement, not intended as an absolute.

I'm old school on this. I met my wife in the late 90s in an IM session. I have two female friends today whom I met on chat sites. But, since my wife passed in 2009, that is all I've really accomplished that has had any lasting success.

If the person Ghosts you then more than likely you werent meant to stay in contact with them as in a Godly divine appointment sense. I find that God always brings someone new when someone else is gone so keep hope that God is faithful. After all didnt God say it isnt good for us to be alone.....i know that speaks of marriage there but friendship comes first even in that case example.
