Saul of Tarsus persecuted Christians UNTIL…he met Jesus on the road to Damascus. Acts 9 He was blinded by a very bright light but Jesus talked to him and told him,” I am Jesus…” Saul BELIVED and asked Jesus, “What do you want me to do?” Let’s just stop right here and ask yourself what do preachers today say Saul should do right here?
Some would say, “ There is NOTHING you need to do. You ‘believe’ so you are saved.”
Some would say, “ Just repeat the ‘sinner’s prayer’ and you will be saved.”
Some would say, “ Just accept Jesus in your heart and you will be saved.”
Some would say he was saved because he had a “religious experience.”
So what did JESUS say? He told Saul to go into the city and there he would be told WHAT HE MUST DO! Obviously, there was MORE he needed to do to be saved than just believe. If not, then why did Jesus say that?
Saul spent 3 days in Damascus fasting and praying. Evidence of REPENTANCE but no evidence that he “prayed through” to salvation. Finally, Ananias came to him and told him to “Arise, and be BAPTIZED and wash away your sins.” Saul still had his SINS three days after he BELIEVED, and REPENTED. This was what “he was told he must do.”
From the lips of God Himself [Jesus]: 16 Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved.

So this portion of your post verifies what Jesus said:
Finally, Ananias came to him and told him to “Arise, and be BAPTIZED and wash away your sins.”

Grab a fire extinguisher, your pants are on fire.

Ananias said nothing about his sins being washed away with water. He actually said Jesus sent me that you would receive your sight and be filled with the holy Ghost.

17 And Ananias went his way, and entered into the house; and putting his hands on him said, Brother Saul, the Lord, even Jesus, that appeared unto thee in the way as thou camest, hath sent me, that thou mightest receive thy sight, and be filled with the Holy Ghost.

18 And immediately there fell from his eyes as it had been scales: and he received sight forthwith, and arose, and was baptized.

19 And when he had received meat, he was strengthened. Then was Saul certain days with the disciples which were at Damascus.

Paul later said he was Baptised by the holy spirit

1 corinth 12:13

For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.

Somehow you believe God cleans nothing but common man is the one who washes away sin.How you come to this conclusion is not understood.

Acts 10:15
The voice spoke to him a second time, “Do not call anything impure that God has made clean.”

Take all the soap and water you can and you will not wash one sin away.If Jesus has not washed you then you are still in your sins.

Paul clearly "Believed."
Technically speaking, You cannot be Baptized by either Spirit or Water until you first actually Believe.

That is 100% correct.
I wonder why that was?
The disciples of Jesus were baptising people while John the Baptist was.

But there was one guy who wasn't baptising people in water and that's the guy we should be paying attention to.He is the one who washes sin away.

John 13:8-10
“No,” said Peter, “you shall never wash my feet.” Jesus answered, “Unless I wash you, you have no part with me.”
“Then, Lord,” Simon Peter replied, “not just my feet but my hands and my head as well!”
Jesus answered, “Those who have had a bath need only to wash their feet; their whole body is clean. And you are clean, though not every one of you.”

Yea ,I've heard a lot of these people on this board say how their sins were washed away with water but Jesus does not Baptise people in water.Jesus has not Baptised a single person on this board in water .
Unless Jesus baptises them, they can have no part with Jesus.

“Unless I wash you, you have no part with me.”

Now, can you please explain what happens if a person by faith puts his trust in Jesus Christ but it is impossible for them to get water baptized? Does God now "deem" them not saved? Let's say a person is on their death bed and receives Jesus Christ but cannot get baptized, what then?
I have answered this question in so many of these discussions.... you can ask hundreds of "hypothetical" type questions... what about an astronaut who decides to accept Jesus and can't be baptized? What about someone in a foxhole that accepts Jesus, but gets killed before he can be baptized.... I've heard 'em all.... "what if.. what if...."

My answer? It is not my call to make.... that decision is WAY above my pay grade, and I am GLAD that we humans do not get to make that call.... that is up to our loving Father...

While you, and all the other baptism deniers will quickly say "I never said don't get baptized"... the message is still the same. It simply isn't that important.... do it, don't do it.... you've already been saved and you don't need to do anything else. Or, "it's a good idea to get baptized", but just do it whenever you wish... no rush. What you are doing is minimizing the importance of baptism, whether intentionally or unintentionally....

If an unbeliever asked you what they needed to do to be saved, what would your answer be?

Well that's easy to answer! I'll just say, "It is not my call to make.... that decision is WAY above my pay grade," I would also add what James said at James 2:15-17, "Go in peace, be ye warmed and filled; and hopefully you will run into somebody that can answer your question? Does that sound about right?

Here's the answer in verses 15 and 16: But the Lord said unto him [Ananias], Go thy way: for he is a chosen vessel unto me, to bear my name before the Gentiles, and kings, and the children of Israel: For I will shew him how great things he must suffer for my name's sake.

I would answer as Paul stated in 1 Corinthians 15:3-4.

1 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;
2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.
3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

The preaching of the cross. Man believes. Man is saved. No getting wet.

No one is denying baptism.

Just your water baptism. Those of us who have been Baptised in living water which comes down from heaven except that baptism as the one baptism.

John 4
13 Jesus answered and said unto her, Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again:

14 But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.

This is the baptism Paul testified he was Baptised with.

1 corinth 12:13

For we were all baptized by one Spirit so as to form one body—whether Jews or Gentiles, slave or free—and we were all given the one Spirit to drink.

We are testifying the same thing as Paul.

If "getting wet" is not part of the process, please explain to me why the apostles, who were closest to Jesus and his teachings, ALL taught and did it... why did the Ethiopean eunuch, who had heard NOTHING of Jesus until Philip taught him, knew that he needed to be immersed (baptized) in water? Philip taught him the necessity of it. Why did Paul immediately arise and be baptized before he even ate or drank? Why did Peter ask about the gentiles... "what should prevent them from being baptized?" They had already received the Spirit, to show the doubting Jewish Christians that they were accepted by God as well... another one-off event in order to teach the skeptics... why continue on with baptism if it was not important?

and for all you pentecostals..... why did Peter tell the crowd of thousands that they needed to repent and be baptized?

I've said all I'm going to say about this...

I would answer as Paul stated in 1 Corinthians 15:3-4.

1 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;
2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.

4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

The preaching of the cross. Man believes. Man is saved. No getting wet.
The context of the chapter is the resurrection.

Paul points out a specific part of the gospel that they received FIRST indicating there's more to the gospel message. Then Paul addresses the resurrection throughout the chapter.

Notice in 1 Corinthians 15 verse 29 Paul specifically brings up water baptism. He questions why people are getting baptized for the dead if they don't believe the dead will be resurrected. Even though baptism for the dead is not biblical it speaks to the fact that born again believers realized their own water baptism was essential. And as such, they were doing it in hopes of changing the fate of relatives and/or friends who had not submitted to it for themselves before they died.

I've said all I'm going to say about this...

Paul taught holy spirit baptism as I have quoted his teaching .

Paul at one time was baptising in water as John the Baptist did but John ,seeing the division and confusion it caused thanked God he did not Baptise anymore than he had and said he was not sent to baptise .

This was a powerful statement by Paul that gets overlooked by the people who claim Paul was sent to Baptise.People even deny Paul said it and twist his words .

1 corinth 1:17
For Christ did not send me to baptize, but to preach the gospel—not with wisdom and eloquence, lest the cross of Christ be emptied of its power.

So what is it that you're trying to say here? Seems to me you're trying your best to prove that it's not God alone that saves, that it also takes "me" to get it done. I honestly don't understand this seeming push on this site against Gods power for the sake of our own glory.

I'm not sure how this doesn't become clear when it's pointed out. Do you not see this? You are pointing at Paul's obedience here and just applying Gods glory to him when he would tell you it was not his obedience that saved him at ALL. Why is it that you are trying so hard to put salvation on the shoulders of men? Do you not see the deceptive burden you put on people when you teach this? I know you don't see it this way, but what you teach is a works based salvation, you say there are certain things, or "works" we must do for God to "freely" give us salvation. Do you not see the contradiction? Can you at least see how I'm looking at it?

God, revealed himself to Saul on that road. Which I bet perplexed him, that would assuredly do that to me and maybe others also. I can only speak for me as I see, as you just posted about, what you see through you, thank you.

All the talk and discussion over what is and what has happened, causes doubt more so in others or deeper belief to others also. However, it is God that reveals it or not to us the people. And has done this for us in risen Son, reported to us all in the Bible by the disciples. This risen Life is to be gotten a hold of, given to us by God Father of Jesus to all that will not quit belief to God, no matter what troubles one might go through or not here on earth.
therefore, choose belief to God and Son only as Won (one) for you too. Stand in belief, Job did that, then Jesus all the way to willing death for us all to get saved in his resurrection. Resurrection, is what puts new life as born again new life in us, for us all to see the tis what we need Life. Born as dead in first birth. God gives life to us in his resurrected Son Jesus for us to have, hold and not ever let go. At least for me this is truth
The work(s) that are done afterwords, are either of the self or the risen God through you. To separate flesh work(s) from God's Spiritual done work of Son is best for me. Thank you

Paul ,seeing the division water baptism caused, thanked God he had not Baptised more than he did and stated he was not sent to baptise.

Tell me what I am missing in this thread? You just said Paul "believed" Since he believed he was saved, and to prove it Paul responded by saying, "What do you want me to do? He then states later on the following at Galatians 1:11-12, "For I would have you know, brethren, that the gospel which was preached by me is not according to man. vs12, For I neither received it from man, nor was I taught it, but received it through a revelation of Jesus Christ."

You then said, "Obviously, there was MORE he needed to do to be saved than just believe." Paul was saved the moment he believed, period. It's already a given that once one is saved they are a new creation and their lives belong to God and will do things to please God, i.e. grow in sanctification.

Act 9:18 And immediately there fell from his eyes as it had been scales: and he received sight forthwith, and arose, and was baptized.

It does not say Ananias told him arise and be baptized and wash away your sins but he would have to be water baptized to wash away his sins.

I do believe water baptism is part of the salvation plan of God, and water baptism is for the washing away of sins.

Jesus said a person must be born of the water and Spirit.

Acts 2:38 says baptism is for the remission of sins.

Jews, Gentiles, and Samaritans were all water baptized, and those that were baptized unto John's baptism had to be baptized again.
“We cannot cut out the middle man, water baptism, for it is part of the salvation plan of God and we have to identify the man Christ Jesus.”

There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling; one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.”
‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭4:4-6‬ ‭KJV‬‬

To say “water baptism “ isn’t needed there’s just baptism it involves water there’s only one form of baptism given by God it involves water always has and will . It doesn’t matter if it was Jesus getting baptized in water and receiving the spirit like this before his death and resurrection

“And it came to pass in those days, that Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee, and was baptized of John in Jordan. And straightway coming up out of the water, he saw the heavens opened, and the Spirit like a dove descending upon him: and there came a voice from heaven, saying, Thou art my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.”
‭‭Mark‬ ‭1:9-11‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Or if it was gentiles after that

“To him give all the prophets witness, that through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins. While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word. Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we?

And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord. Then prayed they him to tarry certain days.”
‭‭Acts‬ ‭10:43-44, 47-48‬ ‭

you can make any argument you want to about baptism , really any subject here though . it doesn’t matter if you have a hundred scriptures showing plainly and clearly what your saying and there aren’t any showing the opposite . people will interpret it away like it doesn’t exist unless they already thought it lol

You are trying to prove something is biblical through an unbiblical practice. Not good Bible study.
