Actually a lot of these self-made millionaires like Zucherberg, Sergei Brin or Elon Musk who are first and foremost geeks, are very rational driven since they're into programming and they had to hire a lot of these middle layer bureaucrats at the beginning of their careers because they caused a lot of friction between offices with people who were 'sensitive' and couldn't handle their direct style.
So they became the very thing they hated, a corporation. But, in their nature still, they do not like to bloat, or they can't even come close to government bloating since they have to account to the bottom line and every dollar, whereas the government has an endless supply of money and taxes.
At this point since they are older, their main sin is vanity just like a lot of billionaires do when they reach their mid life or later.
Jeff Bezos has basically done a 180 personality wise. From a shy geek to a flamboyant mid-life crisis man.
And yes because of vanity, they would probably like an oligarchy.
