They paid what was legally required of them. If you don't like it, change the laws. But you'll probably get shot.

It's easy to blame the wealthy, even when the culprits are those who refuse to balance the budget and live within the means provided by taxes.

Luke 19:1 And Jesus entered and passed through Jericho.
Jericho was a cursed city, they tried to lock Jesus out, similar to what the counterfeit governments try to do in censoring the Lord and the word of God.
2 And, behold, there was a man named Zacchaeus, which was the chief among the publicans, and he was rich.
This is what we are talking about, the hated rich people.
3 And he sought to see Jesus who he was; and could not for the press, because he was little of stature. 4 And he ran before, and climbed up into a sycomore tree to see him: for he was to pass that way.
Stop being envious of others, that is the sin. Some are rich, some poor. The real wealth is Jesus Christ, the real gold is the word of God. Everything else is vanity, a wisp of smoke that will fly away. Being rich does not help your stature. King Charles is the richest man in the world by some calculations, it hasn't done anything for his stature. Likewise with Jeff Bezos or Bill Gates.
5 And when Jesus came to the place, he looked up, and saw him, and said unto him, Zacchaeus, make haste, and come down; for to day I must abide at thy house. 6 And he made haste, and came down, and received him joyfully. 7 And when they saw it, they all murmured, saying, That he was gone to be guest with a man that is a sinner.
The gospel must go to the ends of the earth and that includes palaces and the houses of the wealthy. They will not all be saved, but they all must hear the gospel.
8 And Zacchaeus stood, and said unto the Lord: Behold, Lord, the half of my goods I give to the poor; and if I have taken any thing from any man by false accusation, I restore him fourfold.
There you go, no law will restore the world to fairness other than the laws being written on our hearts when we get saved.
9 And Jesus said unto him, This day is salvation come to this house, forsomuch as he also is a son of Abraham.
Salvation came to Zacchaeus house, but restoration came to all the houses he had defrauded.
10 For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.
What has happened that we would be on a Christian forum and forget this? The money is trivial, it will sprout wings and fly away. At the very least once you die it becomes irrelevant. What matters right now that we the believers should all be focused on is seeking to save that which is lost.

They owe what the tax laws require of them. That is all.
You don't pay more than you owe, but they should? Did you take any deductions? Of course. So did they.
If you don't like the tax laws, work to get them changed. But don't get upset with the wealthy for taking advantage on a large scale what you do on a small scale. It's the same behavior. If they are greedy, why aren't you?

Luke 19:11 And as they heard these things, he added and spake a parable, because he was nigh to Jerusalem, and because they thought that the kingdom of God should immediately appear.
During the church age we have a job to do, to invest what the Lord gave us. We are to sow seeds, the word of God, to water them, to tend the vineyard, to do the work of the Lord.
12 He said therefore, A certain nobleman went into a far country to receive for himself a kingdom, and to return. 13 And he called his ten servants, and delivered them ten pounds, and said unto them, Occupy till I come.
Ten servants get ten pounds, that is fair. Are you a servant of the Lord? Then you have received as much as anyone else. Do you have the bible? Have your received the Spirit? Can you attend church and fellowship with other believers? You have been given everything you need.
14 But his citizens hated him, and sent a message after him, saying, We will not have this man to reign over us.
This is what the apostasy is saying when they decide they won't accept every word of the Bible. Jesus is the incarnate word of God if the word does not reign over you then Jesus doesn't. This is what countries do when they ban the bible or ban preaching. This is what ecumenical movement is doing when they want to ban anyone who says that Jesus is the only way.
15 And it came to pass, that when he was returned, having received the kingdom, then he commanded these servants to be called unto him, to whom he had given the money, that he might know how much every man had gained by trading.
Do not confuse the servants with the citizens. They may look the same, they may claim to be the same, but the servants are the ones who the Lord is reigning over. The citizens are the ones who have rejected Him as Lord.

Do you think this is a reference to Jeff Bezos and Bill Gates or King Charles? Do you think the Lord could care less what their bank account is? If not, why do you?
17 And he said unto him, Well, thou good servant: because thou hast been faithful in a very little, have thou authority over ten cities.
This should be the goal of all servants of the Lord, to be told "well done thou good servant, you have been faithful".
18 And the second came, saying, Lord, thy pound hath gained five pounds. 19 And he said likewise to him, Be thou also over five cities.
Please note in this story the Lord gave each one the same amount and rewarded them based on what they did with that pound.
20 And another came, saying, Lord, behold, here is thy pound, which I have kept laid up in a napkin: 21 For I feared thee, because thou art an austere man: thou takest up that thou layedst not down, and reapest that thou didst not sow.
This is the kind of complaints you hear about the billionaires. They take what they didn't lay down. They force others into bankruptcy and then buy things up at a huge discount. They reap what they didn't sow. They take tribute from the farmers who are doing all the work, just like the British Lords and tenant farmers.
22 And he saith unto him, Out of thine own mouth will I judge thee, thou wicked servant. Thou knewest that I was an austere man, taking up that I laid not down, and reaping that I did not sow:
What we see in the natural is a shadow of the spiritual. Jesus is the body of all the shadows. Jeff Bezos and Bill Gates are merely shadows. They are not the real thing, but they tell us what the spiritual will be. Jesus does not deny that what you see in the natural applies to Him in reality.
23 Wherefore then gavest not thou my money into the bank, that at my coming I might have required mine own with usury?
How hard is that? If you are so scared of being scammed and defrauded why not simply buy a CD? That means you can simply fellowship with believers. You don't have to preach the gospel. You can be very active in the church.
24 And he said unto them that stood by, Take from him the pound, and give it to him that hath ten pounds.
Sure enough this is what happens in the natural so you can be sure this is what will happen in the spiritual.
25 (And they said unto him, Lord, he hath ten pounds.) 26 For I say unto you, That unto every one which hath shall be given; and from him that hath not, even that he hath shall be taken away from him.
All these complainers always complain about not having anything, well when what they do have is taken away from them then they truly will not have anything.
27 But those mine enemies, which would not that I should reign over them, bring hither, and slay them before me.
Being destitute and stripped of everything is not the same as being slayed. We are not appointed to wrath. That does not mean we won't be judged as this wicked servant. Imagine going into eternity with nothing. It will be very shameful.

What I have proffered is that you follow the tax law and pay as little as possible. Wealthy people do the same on a larger scale. Just like you, they make use of tax law to pay as little as possible. Why is it that you are noble and they are greedy?
Furthermore, it is wealthy people who donate millions to endowments and city coffers for the public good. All of us are either directly or indirectly the beneficiaries of this.
Even further still, wealthy people create companies that employ people on a large scale and create innovations that make life easier and more enjoyable.
Your life is better because of wealthy people. The accumulation of wealth is what has allowed all Americans to enjoy the high standard of living we enjoy. Money isn't evil. It's simply a tool. And everyone will give an account of their stewardship. But I am thankful for the abundance that God has given to this country, for the blessings that He has bestowed upon me, and desire Him to do the same for all. And mostly, I am prayerful that He will again turn the hearts of this nation again to Himself that all may know Him and live in the richness of His blessing.

Y'all want to know why people support Trump so strongly? Go to Youtube, look for the song Rich Men North of Richmond reaction to the song, not the song itself. I went down a rabbit hole and I must have watched grown men of every background and color cry like babies for over an hour. By the time I was done I wanted to run for office to help people! I noticed particularly black men just breaking down after hearing the first sentence of the song. People are hurting and have been for a while. Let's remember the lyrics. I know the guy that sang it said it was not partisan. But you sit and watch the reactions for as long as I did, you'd understand why Trumps supporters are so loyal.

Yeah I think if you were there you might feel a tad differently. Maybe a little miffed about the fact that not only wasn't a president protected, but everyone in that crowd. A dad, husband, son, was killed that day and as bad as that is, what if it had been a child? No it shouldn't be forgotten and someone should lose their career over it, several people actually.
