Hello everyone. I think the older I get the more my body wants me to quit working. "Bill" has to be paid & since social security doesn't cover my basic needs, had to go to work. But God has given me the health & strength to do so. I'm asking prayers for my lower back. Most of the work I've done in my life has been hard labor & I think that is what's wrong with my back. My boss doesn't like it when someone has to call out of work, but she has OCD really bad & thinks we should move as fast as she does. I'm 72, I used to bust my backside trying to please her but I've gotten as to where I really don't care anymore I move as quick as I can but not over doing it. Does this make sense to anyone cause she thinks I don't move fast enough. I truly do need prayers right now & I thank each & every one who says a prayer for me. I know without a doubt that God hears us all. Thank you & May God Bless You.

When people at my job, usually teenagers, trying to lift two boxes at once to show off, I remind them that this job does not pay enough to be able to afford back surgery.

If your job does not pay enough to be able to afford back surgery, I would recommend easing up a bit. Back pain ain't no fun. You can't do anything at all when your back is messed up.

I can relate. I've never been a fast worker. Not because I slacked, I'm simply not built that way. Yet I've always had to get jobs that required me to be fast.
I have to work harder to be average. And to do above average I have to push myself so hard I am jittery and anxious and get sweaty.
It's been one of the most common complaints I've had at any job. Even when I was younger.
And I, too, don't have the best back. It's not a daily problem or as bad as yours sounds, but it still can pop up from time to time. Likely due to picking up heavy items in the wrong posture when I was younger.
At the end of the day you can only do what you're able, few jobs understand this.

Thank ya'll for the prayers. I truly thank you. I went back to work yesterday & gave my boss the excuse I had gotten from urgent. She didn't seem like she cared, so I went about doing things to get ready to make the store look presentable when the store opend up. My boss told me later on that I can't take anymore days off. Everyday I was off the registers were all short, mine was over $24.00 but I was out so that was good for me. It did make me feel appreciated to know that she said some kind words. That meant a lot to me. Too much anger in this world these days. When I left yesterday I told the girl taking over my register to watch my money. Meaning don't make me short. I pray all of you will have an absolutely blessed & safe day. I love you all.
