Are things worse for you now and in what way?
Yes! In every way possible! Gas costs more, food costs more, heating costs more. My parents have health issues and I need them to move closer to me, but they can't leave their home because interest rates are so high. If Harris gets in though they will have no choice but to leave their home.

So none of you have been part of the economic development process over the last years? And it all changed for the worse from 2021?

Sure. But by increasing government spending, as was done, is what caused inflation to rise so quickly. What good is it to have one's spending power reduced unnecessary?

It’s no good, but to me it has increased over the years regardless of president.

I get that. My income went up a little as well. But my income did not keep up with the increase in costs.
This is very different than the previous 4 years where my purchasing power increased by over 5,000 per year.

You can be sure with all the layoffs we are seeing that tax revenue will be down this coming year for the US government and they'll have to find other ways to get money from a stone. Taxing unrealized capital gains is one example of the theft, basically you get hit with inflation and then they tax your inflation. Starting this fall we will see unemployment skyrocket, tax revenue decline, and draconian taxes from State and Federal to try and make up the shortfall.

Last year our national budget was $5.5 trillion and we took in $4.5 trillion in revenue. Meanwhile our interest on our debt is up by $300 billion, so the new budget will probably be $6 trillion, but it is very likely that tax revenue will drop to $4 trillion. Now that is simply if all things stay the same. War and all the other destabilizing threats could definitely make that much worse, but it is doubtful there is anything on the horizon to make it much better. Meanwhile China's economy is in crisis. These are the two engines to the world's economy, the US and China and we are losing both engines. Add to that it is probably all she wrote for Japan and Germany. If the enemies of the West are going to strike, now is the time.

Depends on who is elected. If Harris, I agree. But I live in a red state. Taxes may increase, but won't be draconian.

I don't believe an apocalypse is coming. I also don't believe Harris can win the election. So unless something crazy happens, I don't expect a Harris presidency. But I don't rule out something crazy happening.

So I guess we are at two different ends of the spectrum as I do believe the apocalypse is starting this fall.

It's not that I don't believe we could see immense turmoil, more wars, and times of difficulties and hardships. I believe that is a possible scenario. But I don't see it as a forgone conclusion.

Yeah, I see that this is already a done deal in secret.
