He will. Realize, though, that death can at times be mercy.
I agree, but I pray for the death of his soul and for all the unbelievers. Like to be uncreated... but I don't think its biblical, but I hope im wrong. This concept of eternal hell does not sit well with me and Ive stressed out about it ALOT...
for I know many sinners and unbelievers.

In a very technical sense yes Hell is not the eternal abode for the damned, but rather the Lake of Fire is the eternal punishment. However, since Hell is literally thrown into the Lake of Fire, the judgment of eternal damnation is understood to be synonymous with the idea of "going to Hell". Then in the issue of whether this is eternal torment or not, well, Jesus and the prophets say repeatedly that the damned will be groaning and wailing and the worms that devour them die not and their fire is never quenched. Understandably the unbelievers certainly, but also the weaker Christians and new Christians, they don't want it to be real, but the thing is, it's not about what you want, it's about what it really is, it's not like you or me or all of us put together could ever change the reality of God and his sublime judgments. Yes there is the forgiveable reflex when new to want to save everyone just like Jesus, but you ain't Jesus nor am I, the best we can do then is to just tell them the truth and hope they are smart enough to escape the wily old serpent Satan, the predator in the Garden. Real love is the truth and the truth is that indeed eternal damnation and torment is well, eternal, and it is very real possibility and is most certain for the Devil and thus all those who side with him. On that same token though then so is also the chance of man's redemption and all eternal salvation by the belief in God and the Gospel that explains the birth, life, crucifixion, resurrection, ascension, and return to judge all the quick and the dead by the Lord Jesus Christ.

First off, I will try to get to your longer post later, presuming it is sufficiently respectful.

Of course truth matters! That is what all of us here are after. This is a mere disagreement about what it is based on different interpretations of the Bible. If you don't believe that all of us are after truth, then why bother responding at all, and if we are then please be respectful of that?

Again, the issue here is what does the Bible say? You wrote:

"Christ's words recorded in the Gospels state there is eternal torment"

But my very point is that they do not. I challenge you to find a single passage of Jesus' words that uses the specific term 'eternal' (not merely 'forever' which is long but temporary), describing torture of unbelievers in death, and not for some spiritual or possibly metaphorical entity like the beast or the false prophet.

As for the paganism mixed in, I never said it was in the Bible. That paganism got mixed into Christianity, though is history, not mere speculation. Though the focus was a little different than eschatology, I have read a whole novel on the subject of how paganism bled into Christian weekly gathering and practices ("Pagan Christianity" by Frank Viola and George Barna) And are you not aware of how much paganism is mixed into observances like Easter? While it can still be worth celebrating, the date we observe Christmas on is even tied to pagan celebrations of the winter solstice rather than biblical suggestion.
The Text was provided.

Matthew 25:46 Jesusnb said Eternal, there is one for you.

46 “Then they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life. NIV

46 These will go away into everlasting punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.” NKJV
the Greek is kolasis: penal infliction:—punishment, torment.

in the context of Torment in Greek the word is : basanismos

The same word of demons who cried out to Jesus asking, " have you come to Torment us before the time" Matthew 8:29
which is to to vex with grievous pains .
this same word is used in Rev 14:11

The Punishment of God is foreknown by demons as we see their qestion to Jesus.

The word Eternal is just that time without end. Can;t get anymore clear than that.

I can't speak for the other person, but I believe the first is temporary.

As for Rev 14:11, a word study on 'forever' says a lot. Even any literal translation worth its salt will instead use the expression "to the age of ages," suggesting a finite period. If you have any doubt on that, realize that there are things in the Old Testament that were said to happen for forever that have now ceased. Also, even if the smoke is still going up, it doesn't mean the person is still conscious. Those who threw Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego into the furnace died when they even got close. And the Bible speaks in Malachi of the wicked being ashes.
I realize there are many forevers that are no more. Why its a problem is that the Bible describes our life as eternal. Is that also fading and temporary?

Eternal punishment, eternal life. Matthew 25:46

If you are going to use Frank Viola's liberal theology, who has no former theological training, just as a blogger of what is known.

ARIZONA CHRISTIAN UNIVERSITY STATEMENT OF FAITH

And George Barna's own statement of faith says :

11.We believe in the bodily resurrection of the just and unjust; the everlasting blessedness of the saved and the everlasting conscious punishment of the lost along with Satan and other fallen angels. Matthew 25:34, 41, 46; Revelation 20:10-15; 2 Thessalonians 1:9

The Bible states plainly that “the soul who sins shall die” (Ezek. 18: 4); that “the wages of sin is death” [cessation of life, not life in torment]. On the other hand, the gift of God is eternal life (Rom. 6: 23) through Jesus Christ.
If you do not understand the word "death" in scripture all manners of ideas can be argued but remain they un-biblical.

Perfect love, casts out all fear. there is no fear in Love and God is true Love of 1 Cor 13:4-7, to get imputed in the next born new again person, thank you
Yes a perfect person doesn’t need to fear God someone who loves perfectly

There’s no need to fear God when we love perfectly

“By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments. For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous. For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.”
‭‭1 John‬ ‭5:2-4‬ ‭KJV‬‬

perfect love casts out fear so we want to perfect love

“For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.

( what we do in our actions is love ot not love if I kill I’m not loving if I lie and cheat and steal from people commit adultery ect I’m not loving and should fear exceedingly )

And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed.

The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light.

Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying.

But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ,

and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭13:9-14‬ ‭KJV‬‬

When we believe it’s time to start acting…..fear is what leads there to o ediencr which removes fear

“For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.

Knowing therefore the terror of the Lord, we persuade men; but we are made manifest unto God; and I trust also are made manifest in your consciences.”
‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭5:10-11‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“And fear came upon every soul: and many wonders and signs were done by the apostles.

And all that believed were together, and had all things common; and sold their possessions and goods, and parted them to all men, as every man had need. And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart, praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.”
‭‭Acts‬ ‭2:43-47‬ ‭

fear leads us to repentance

there's enough dudes on youtube talking about it and seeing it in some way or form and i don't think they are ALL faking it. .. maybe some... but no way all... too many similarities in their description.
And there are enough dudes and dudettes who claim to be abducted by aliens and anally probed, don't make it true, no matter how similar the experiences. Remember, Satan can transform himself into an angel of light.

Yes, so true and evil does that, as I am glad you aware of that.
Looking back to AD 70. God's enemies had to rebuild the Temple, yet in a new way and call it God's new Church, really? Hebrews 8:1-4
When Jesus said in John 4 the time has come to not worship God over there or over here, but in you the person?

John 4:23-24. This be what I see, listen I have two ears to hear with, one mouth to speak with. That tells me to listen twice as much as I speak. And God says listen
To everyone, yet do not do as some or many might do. Think on that wise. I saw, to go to Father in risen Son Jesus and ask, for the whole truth and nothing but the truth. So and so over there says this, Lord, is that true. I hear to that person yes, and to that other one, that one is using truth to get things here on earth, be aware and remain harmless, stay out of there, as in proverbs 23:1-7 tells you about this truth of the flesh nature in everyone, God, I came to earth in my Son to redeem you all in my Spirit for you all. I did not come to save any flesh, flesh is dead, time to be alive born again by me in belief to me to see and I will show you in my Spirit and Truth
Man says show me God and I will believe you
God says believe me and I will show you
Yet will you continue to believe God even if are in adversities too?
According to Job first chapter
Chapter satan said Job will not deny you as long as Job is protected, God said no Job will not deny God, will we? I see to not deny God, no matter how others interpret Job, matters not to me, thank you God seriously loves us all y'all how, by his willing Son going to the death in our deserved stead. Then risen three days later to give new life to all who believe and will not stop, even if in adversities too

It seems a simple statement declaring that the words are in the Bible.

Unfortunately, "hell" was used in place of words with different meanings.
“And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Death, and Hell followed with him. And power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth.”
‭‭Revelation‬ ‭6:8‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.

and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.

And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.”
‭‭Revelation‬ ‭20:11-12, 14-15‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.”
‭‭Revelation‬ ‭21:1, 4-5‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Revelation 20:13-15 The sea gave up its dead, and Death and Hades gave up their dead, and each one was judged according to his deeds. Then Death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death- the lake of fire. And if anyone was found whose name was not written in the Book of Life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.
