I realised the Truth this year. Ever since I've tried to understand what that means.
Felt so in love with Jesus, had the Time of my Life. Then my old patterns started to continue- and now I feel so confused and lost.

Welcome, NewDisciple. I hope you're reading the Bible and spending time in prayer. We shouldn't be directed by our feelings, but of course it feels good to feel good. Spend more time with your heavenly Father and see if that doesn't wash the confusion away.

How long have you been saved?

Hi and welcome. Really glad to hear the Lord has revealed the truth to you.

If He has revealed Himself to you, and given you a knowledge of the truth, you can have confidence that He loves you and won't give up on you. Sometimes people get the impression that salvation is something you have to work and strive for; but it all begins with Christ revealing Himself to you, then it's just a matter of trusting Him to finish in you what He started. As a new believer it's not always a smooth ride. Your faith will be tested and you'll probably stumble; but don't let that stop you from getting back up. Trust Him and He'll always help you.

Am I the only one founding it very confusing to realise I didn't even know the Truth exited? And all my life have been like living blindfolded?

The more I read, the more I understand. That I don't even know myself. Or understand anything.

I found it difficult to realize the existing of God. To realise He has always been here. That there's more. I don't have to be in control, he's taking care. How is it possible to never have been me. Not even know.
All this isn't easy to me. I'm having a identity/life/perception crisis.

And then I look at this world. So many blindfolded people. They don't even know. Like I didn't.

And now I have to learn everything from scratch. And also unlearn everything I thought I knew.

I found it overwhelming and hard to realise.

I really want to thank you for telling me this! Praise the Lord 🙏
My faith is really getting tested. And I don't want to be this ungrateful brat who doubts every time something happens. I'm so grateful for what He is and has done for me. So why do I doubt?

Then im getting scared that it is only feelings. Even though I sense deeply in my heart it's True. I still questioning myself if I'm imagining things cause of strong and confusing feelings.

I really don't wanna trust myself, I know I can't. So I'm getting scared that it's 'an easy way' out of that. And it's all coincidence when something supernatural happens. And still I wonder how THAT important and concrete things can be coincidence.

So if I understand both, maybe I also just imagining God cause I need Him?
And then I'm back to being this ungrateful brat.

Since i was a teen 20 years ago, but didn't get to know Him before beginning of this year
You are rewriting your life story from a new perspective and it is a big job, so much to learn and many details! Welcome to the family.

Welcome!
I was in my 50th year when I surrendered my life to the Lord. :). My 20 year baptism anniversary is in November. I was baptized at the end of an Alpha Course... I did not realize what I was getting into haha but I came out fully convinced of the truth of God's revealed written Word and happy knowing my opposition to God had finally been laid to waste.

I often recommend this movie to new/er converts:

^ Gospel of John is often recommended as a great place to start reading the Bible. This movie is a word-for-
Word portrayal of John's gospel, is very well done, and one I watched multiple times in my early days.

The Alpha Course is a series of sessions exploring the basics of the Christian faith. Typically run at neighbourhood churches around a community dinner over eleven weeks, each session looks at a different question around faith, and the talks are designed to create conversation in small groups afterwards. It's totally free, it's run all over the globe, and everyone's welcome.

The Alpha Course is amazing, full of facts, history, information, etc about our faith, interviews, with both popular
and famous apologists and the common person on the street, asking them such questions as, Who do you think
Jesus is? Very informative all round! I was going through the course myself twenty years ago when I realized I had
finally reached that place of needing no more convincing of the Truth of God's revealed written Word. What a relief!

There are 10 videos total. I hope you watch them. They could benefit you greatly .:)

Hi NewDisciple, so glad the Lord led you here, welcome to the fellowship at CC!
'Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened.… ' Mt 7:7-8
God bless & keep you🌹🙏✝🔯

Matthew 7:7-8 Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened. :)

The reason I asked is because when true salvation takes place and the life of Christ is truly imparted to an individual, they are awakened to a spiritual reality that was before unexperienced. This seems to have happened for you recently. Welcome to the site and to the family of God.
A lesson I wish someone had shared with me early in my Christian experience is that the kingdom of men and the kingdom of God are very different. And what makes someone successful in the kingdom of men will make one very unsuccessful in the kingdom of God.

For instance, in the kingdom of men, everyone looks out for number 1. In the kingdom of God, we are to put the needs and wants of others before ourselves. In the kingdom of men, the accumulation of earthly goods is seen as desirable. In the kingdom of God, it is better to give than receive. In the kingdom of men we are taught self-reliance. In the kingdom of God we are taught to live by the power of God.

My guess is that you have yet to learn to live in the kingdom you are now a part of, and are continuing to live in your own strength and according to worldly practices. If so, read about Moses as he tried initially to lead God's people. Then read about what kind of man he had become 40 years later after spending all those years in the desert. God always intended Moses to lead His people out of Egypt. He just needed some time to make Moses the kind of man God can use to lead.

My guess is also that God is doing the same with you. Try to find a church with a good teaching pastor and spend time reading your Bible and praying. You will be much encouraged in the Lord.

I believe that a new Christian, one who has been given a new life in Christ, has received the desire to put their trust in him and him alone. However, the struggle to live for him is difficult, but grows over time through the work of the Spirit.

We must come to the knowledge that we will not belong to God based on our own works, but upon the trust and faith of Christ's work. This work is done for us by grace! We do not deserve it, nor can we accomplish it by our own effort! It is a gift that is freely given by God to his people.

Place your trust in this gift that you have received and your life will be changed!

Matthew 26:41
“Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.”
