If your like me, and don't know what the genius is talking about...Watch this one. It will at least get you in the ball park.

The Inverse Square Law explains that a force will drastically drop in strength/intensity as it moves away from the source and then shallows out. It's useful to describe the behavior of light, radiation, sound and similar natural phenomenon. This is why light "fades" the farther it is from its source for example even as it covers a wider area away from it.

I'm not sure how that applies to water. I think he's just using the picture to show how the water will conform to the curve of the planet (it's because of the downward pressure of gravity).

One point is that the dumb memes @Conformed posts are completely ignoring the model. they presume to claim the model doesn't work, but they aren't even using the model.
-- if you want to say there is a problem with how kown physics describes the spheroidal earth, you need to actually use known physics and actually use the spheroidal model.

what his memes are doing instead is relying on the person reading them being stupid. It's a bit like complaining your fuel economy is poor when you ride a skateboard.. um, dude, skateboarding doesn't involve gasoline.

what is "level" on earth when we're talking about the ocean isn't measured from a plane, it's measured by altitude - and altitude is distance from the center of the globe.

another point is gravity. this is 100% verified - if you weigh yourself on an airplane or even on a mountain with an accurate scale and compare it with what you weigh at sea level, you will weigh less - exactly as much less as the spheroidal earth model says you should.
this is impossible to explain with flat earth. as you have pointed out over and over, flat earth doesn't snt even have a physical model. it can't explain anything.

flat earth is idiotic, and it's predicated on idiotic memes that rely on ignorance. it fools the simple because it concerns things they know nothing about.

the facts suggest @Conformed is either ignorant or nothing more than a troll.

yes.

because clearly water does curve - it's called surface tension, just look at any drop of dew, it's natural shape, oddly enough, is a sphere.

and because when we are criticizing the model of the spherical earth, you need to actually use the spherical model - where "down" isn't a parallel direction stretching infinitely in every direction, it's towards the center of the earth. down is dependent on gravity, not platonic geometry.

if you think math on a spherical topography has problems, doing math on a planar topography is completely moot. you might as well be saying your shoes are too small because your cat has whiskers. and the fact is that planar topography cannot explain observation, but spheroidal topography explains observation perfectly.

but even though this is reality and it's only basic 4th grade geometry, this is way too complex for someone who only pastes memes into a forum to understand.

Let's be honest, we are dealing with cult followers, who are guided by a yoga instructor, who "authored" a book about flat earth, using memes. Now that we know where this bear scat is coming from, it all makes sense. lol

You wonder where are all the great memes are coming from?!?! A yoga instructor. Yup! lol

Here, creating a flat earth meme right now...

If your learning science from a yoga instructor.......

You maybe a flat earther.

Yup. People like that you just have to hand over to God and let Him deal with them Himself.

I almost feel sorry for him. :giggle::coffee:

So if the earth is flat, does that mean all the other planets, moons, and suns are also flat?
