The cost of energy is the largest driver of inflation in this country. Bringing energy production home and reducing the cost of it will make the most significant impact on the economy.

I don't support his tariff ideas. Tariffs are probably one of most misunderstood things out there; and the Donald hasn't done anything to clear up the confusion. Tariffs aren't paid by the exporting country, they're paid by the importer (the US). The tariffs are collected at ports of entry around the US by Customs and Border Protection agents and it goes into the US treasury.

Theoretically, this would encourage the creation of more manufacturing in the US instead of buying from foreign countries. But this could take a very long time before consumers actually see any benefit. In the meantime there will be shortages and much higher prices. The importers will have make up their losses somewhere. If the federal government uses the tariff money to stimulate US manufacturing that would help; but the federal government doesn't have to best track record for handling money responsibly.

Trump doesn't seem to understand we have a global economy now and his isolationist ideas are just asking for trouble in my opinion. His image as a great businessman is mostly an illusion as well. He's the only guy I know who can lose money in the casino business.

Putting tariffs on China will make us pay more for literally everything
Yes or it will lead to a lot less choice on the shelves.

I think some of his ideas about foreign policy and domestic policy are outdated, the world has changed he thinks he is the only man with the big stick, and he certainly does not understand the art of walking softly.

Tariffs always cause the cost of products to rise for the American Consumer. In the past, they have rarely resulted greater US production of products. Usually, the tariffs imposed are less costly than the increase of Union workers and their benefits packages. So, Companies simply pay the tariffs and pass that cost onto the consumer.

I couldn't vote because I can't support something that isn't currently definable. I am very glad that President Trump, legitimately voted in as President, will be our 47th President. I believe we're being freed from an illegitimate govmint that took power via fraud in 2020. I have a hope that things will get a little better in this country, and probably will be a little better around the world.

While I'm not a supporter of all of Trump's decisions when he was number 45, I believe he was the best President we've had during my life time and that leads me to hope for good things during the next 4 years.

I hope for the return of rule of law in the USA, something that was lost to us under the diben regime. Many Federal agencies will need to be eliminated or shrunk, or re-made from scratch to get rid of the rot that they contain. I would like to see the Department of Education eliminated as I don't believe anything good has ever come from that Department. I'd like to see the EPA shrunk down to a tenth or twentieth of its current size, and given a very limited mission. Additionally, any EPA decisions made over the last decade or so should be reviewed by someone in the Administration who has been given authority to overturn them.

I'd like to see the USA go after the WEF for organizing and funding insurrectionist activities in the USA. WEF leadership can be tried under RICO laws.

I'd like to see all J6 political prisoners freed on day one of the new administration and those who behind the scenes orchestrated the whole J6 fiasco should pay for their crimes.
