Colossians 2:16
Therefore let no one pass judgment on you in questions of food and drink, or with regard to a festival or a new moon or a Sabbath.
Yes, thats what people are doing here. Passing judgment on people they do not think keeps the sababath

In regard to Romans 3:31, we establish or uphold the law by putting our faith in the One who fulfilled all the righteous requirements of the law on our behalf and who offers us His perfect righteousness as a free gift. (Romans 4:5-6) For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes. (Romans 10:4)

If the law, as a legal system, is still binding on us today, then Jesus was wrong in claiming to fulfill it and His sacrifice on the cross was insufficient to save us. Jesus fulfilled the whole law and now grants us His righteousness as a free gift. (Romans 6:23; Galatians 2:16; Ephesians 2:8; Philippians 3:9)
Paul in Romans chapters two and three is talking about the Jews.

The Gentiles were never under the law.

I don't have any issue with people worshiping 7 days, every or any day. But I do have an issue with people saying that the 7th day is not made holy and sanctified. I disagree with people that say it is okay to commit adultery and its okay to freely lie. I also disagree with those that say we should forget the sabbath.
1) No one here is saying that God didn't sanctify the 7th day, so that's just a straw man
2) No one here is saying it's OK to commit adultery and lie, so another straw man

So we really only disagree on one point; how the righteousness required by the 4th commandment is accomplished in us.

You think it's accomplished by the weekly observance of a carnal commandment

We think it's accomplished independently of time and space through faith in spirit

I accept your right to observe sabbaths the way you see fit.

Why can't you accept what we choose to believe and do?

Not just passing judgment.

You effectively have the shadow of the mark of the beast, because Sunday worship
is the mark of the beast in SDA eschatology.

It matters if you have church on a Friday or Saturday or Sunday.

Friday and Saturday church you don't burn in the lake.

But Sunday church is different you get boiled in the lake of fire, losers.

Why do you burn on Sunday church? Because Ellen said so.

Even if you rest on Saturday and then go to church on Sunday, you still burn,
because you have the shadow of the mark.

No escape for Sunday worshipers they have the spirit of the beast.

I do not believe so.

Gal 6:7 Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap.

Heb 10:26 26 For if we sin willfully after we have received the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, 27 but a certain fearful expectation of judgment, and fiery indignation which will devour the adversaries. 28 Anyone who has rejected Moses’ law dies without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses. 29 Of how much worse punishment, do you suppose, will he be thought worthy who has trampled the Son of God underfoot, counted the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified a common thing, and insulted the Spirit of grace? 30 For we know Him who said, “Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,” [g]says the Lord. And again, “The Lord will judge His people.” 31 It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.
There talking about rejecting Jesus and going back to the law.

Who has trampled the Son of God underfoot, counted the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified
a common thing, and insulted the Spirit of grace
?

Who are the Hebrews?

He is the living example of God, and God is Love, and Jesus obeyed the commandments...

If you want to be like Jesus, you should obey the 10 commandments too.

Heb 8:10 For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people:

We are told that God will write them in our hearts. How can God write His laws in your heart if you keep rejecting them?
there is a difference between us (sinners) and Jesus, is that Jesus has No Sin, so He wasn't a slave to sin as we are. So to obey God and to keep His Commandments (including the 10) is to know Jesus and Believe in His message (the Gospel) so His Spirit can then dwell within our hearts and enable us to obey God by keeping His commandments. This is the New Covenant Way of His Spirit.

The Old covenant way (including 10 Commandments) doesn't require Jesus/God Only man(flesh).

The new covenant commandment is to believe in Jesus.

The old covenant is to love God.

The new covenant commandment grants eternal life for believing in Jesus (Romans 10:9-10).

The old covenant commandment to love God, tells you your a sinner, because that's what the law does.

The old covenant commandment is to love others as you love yourself.

The new covenant commandment is to love others as Christ Jesus loved us.

There is an immense difference between these two commandments.

One condemns and the other grants eternal life.

My advice,he's losing it. Now he's resorting to vulgarity in later posts.

Don't bait skeptics. It gets ugly.
The truth hurts, doesn't it little girl....
I'm "losing it"?... what a strange, small world you live in...
You make totally unfounded accusations, then get "offended" when someone calls you on it... you are not a shining example for the SDA's.....or, perhaps you are just typical of their pharisaical beliefs...
Or, is that getting too ugly for you?

and they ARE 2 Covenants. not a " renewed" version of the Old, as the Sabbatarians claim..

I’ll answer it when you answer my question. When did the Sabbath commandment end? Where is the verse.

All of the laws were made to Israel including the New Covenant. It should be a simple answer since you are so sure God’s Sabbath commandment ended. Just provide one verse when it ended.
I haven’t said the sabbath “ ended “ I’ve said the sabbath was a single command to israel in their old covenant. And isnt part of the gospel the new covenant which isnt according to the one given at Sinai to israel engraved upon stones and given through Moses.

It hasnt “ ended “ until a person died for breaking it then it’s fulfilled upon the person. Because it’s an administerstion of death

“And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, Speak thou also unto the children of Israel, saying, Verily my sabbaths ye shall keep: for it is a sign between me and you throughout your generations; that ye may know that I am the LORD that doth sanctify you. ( Christian’s are sanctified by faith in the blood of Christ and know by believing the word of the gospel not by keeping a sabbath when they didn’t know him )

Ye shall keep the sabbath therefore; for it is holy unto you: every one that defileth it shall surely be put to death: for whosoever doeth any work therein, that soul shall be cut off from among his people. Six days may work be done; but in the seventh is the sabbath of rest, holy to the LORD: whosoever doeth any work in the sabbath day, he shall surely be put to death.

Wherefore the children of Israel shall keep the sabbath, to observe the sabbath throughout their generations, for a perpetual covenant. ( Jews still jeep the sabbath it’s pet of thier law)

It is a sign between me and the children of Israel for ever: for in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, and on the seventh day he rested, and was refreshed.”
‭‭Exodus‬ ‭31:12-17‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Jesus died because once you die for a sin like picking up a stick off the ground on a sabbath you then have died to the law and dead men the law says nothing to them they sinned and then died the law no longer applies to them they died and now belong to a new word and way

Here’s what I’m talking about we’ve ( who believe and respond ) been delivered from the law through Christs death for sin

“Know ye not, brethren, (for I speak to them that know the law,) how that the law hath dominion over a man as long as he liveth?

…Wherefore, my brethren, ye also are become dead to the law by the body of Christ; that ye should be married to another, even to him who is raised from the dead, that we should bring forth fruit unto God.

For when we were in the flesh, the motions of sins, which were by the law, did work in our members to bring forth fruit unto death.

But now we are delivered from the law, that being dead wherein we were held; that we should serve in newness of spirit, and not in the oldness of the letter.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭7:1, 4-6‬ ‭KJV‬‬

The law ends for a believer in Jesus at baptism when they die by faith with him

Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭6:3-4‬ ‭

the law hath dominion over a man as long as he liveth?

…Wherefore, my brethren, ye also are become dead to the law by the body of Christ; that ye should be married to another, even to him who is raised from the dead, that we should bring forth fruit unto God.

For when we were in the flesh, the motions of sins, which were by the law, did work in our members to bring forth fruit unto death.

But now we are delivered from the law, that being dead wherein we were held; that we should serve in newness of spirit, and not in the oldness of the letter.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭7:1, 4-6‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Christianity is not based on the rocks of Moses law but the living stone from which they drank Jesus Christ and his sacrifice and ministry death and resurrection.

again though Judaism still keeps the sabbath so it hasn’t “ ended “ they still have some promise in the end regarding rhier soecific law but it’s for Israel’s tribes is now and has been my point

this

“And the LORD said unto Moses, Write thou these words: for after the tenor of these words I have made a covenant with thee and with Israel. And he was there with the LORD forty days and forty nights; he did neither eat bread, nor drink water. And he wrote upon the tables the words of the covenant, the ten commandments.”
‭‭Exodus‬ ‭34:27-28‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Is Moses law.

This is Christianity it’s far better and leads to righteousness it began to be preached after Jesus spent his fourty days and nights it’s based on Christ not Moses and Israel’s covenant but Christ and the gospel

The beginning of the gospel of Jesus Christ, the Son of God;

Now after that John was put in prison, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God, and saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.”
‭‭Mark‬ ‭1:1, 14-15‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭24:14‬ ‭

“And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved;

but he that believeth not shall be damned.”
‭‭Mark‬ ‭16:15-16‬ ‭KJV‬‬

two covenants one was made with israel they broke it , the other was made with israel then with everyone else from the world . My point has always been the same it’s a different covenant for Israel’s ( jacobs ) children not for the nations

They are called the ministers of death engraved in stone.

They were nailed to the cross
So what condemns us as sinners today?
Are we sinners today? What makes us guilty?
The law??? Please read Romans 7.

Rom 7:6-14

6 But now we are delivered from the law, that being dead wherein we were held; that we should serve in newness of spirit, and not in the oldness of the letter.

Delivered from the law = Jesus paid our debt, Jesus died the death that we should died.
We are freed from the condemnation through Jesus.

7 What shall we say then? Is the law sin? God forbid. Nay, I had not known sin, but by the law: for I had not known lust, except the law had said, Thou shalt not covet. 8 But sin, taking occasion by the commandment, wrought in me all manner of concupiscence. For without the law sin was dead. 9 For I was alive without the law once: but when the commandment came, sin revived, and I died. 10 And the commandment, which was ordained to life, I found to be unto death. 11 For sin, taking occasion by the commandment, deceived me, and by it slew me. 12 Wherefore the law is holy, and the commandment holy, and just, and good. 13 Was then that which is good made death unto me? God forbid. But sin, that it might appear sin, working death in me by that which is good; that sin by the commandment might become exceeding sinful. 14 For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin.

Rom 7:13 Was then that which is good made death unto me? God forbid.

God forbid, NO. The law is not death. But sin is death

But sin, that it might appear sin, working death in me by that which is good; that sin by the commandment might become exceeding sinful.

No law and sin would not exist.

They are called the ministers of death engraved in stone.

They were nailed to the cross
The context is ....
2Co 3:3 Forasmuch as ye are manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone, but in fleshy tables of the heart.

The law reveals our sin and sin = death

But notice that Paul said it is written in our hearts. The law that was written in stone was not nailed to the cross it is written in the heart.

you better not break one. Otherwise, all your work is useless. Hi have failed to be like Jesus or keep the law
We can be the servants of righteousness or the servants of sin.
Because we fail and need grace, does that mean we continue to sin
SIN IS THE TRANSGRESSION OF THE LAW
Shall we sin because the condemnation of the law has been paid by grace through faith.
God forbid.....

Rom 6:15-18 15 What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid. 16 Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness? 17 But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you. 18 Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness.

Thats not the truth....
It has been shown that there is a difference between the the laws of ordinance and moral laws.

You refuse to see it and your statement is not true.

Col 2:14 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;....
Col 2:17 Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ.
Understanding which law is vital....

Heb 8:4-5
4 For if he were on earth, he should not be a priest, seeing that there are priests that offer gifts according to the law: 5 Who serve unto the example and shadow of heavenly things, as Moses was admonished of God when he was about to make the tabernacle: for, See, saith he, that thou make all things according to the pattern shewed to thee in the mount.
Heb 10:1-6
1 For the law having a shadow of good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with those sacrifices which they offered year by year continually make the comers thereunto perfect. 2 For then would they not have ceased to be offered? because that the worshippers once purged should have had no more conscience of sins. 3 But in those sacrifices there is a remembrance again made of sins every year. 4 For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins. 5 Wherefore when he cometh into the world, he saith, Sacrifice and offering thou wouldest not, but a body hast thou prepared me: 6 In burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin thou hast had no pleasure.

Eph 2:15 Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace;

Notice the law of ordinances are abolished....

ABOLISHED.

Heb 9:1-2
1 Then verily the first covenant had also ordinances of divine service, and a worldly sanctuary. 2 For there was a tabernacle made; the first, wherein was the candlestick, and the table, and the shewbread; which is called the sanctuary.
Heb 9:9-10
9 Which was a figure for the time then present, in which were offered both gifts and sacrifices, that could not make him that did the service perfect, as pertaining to the conscience; 10 Which stood only in meats and drinks, and divers washings, and carnal ordinances, imposed on them until the time of reformation.

It is clear that a law was nailed to the cross. And that law was the shadow laws...

No verse states that the 10 commandments are a shadow law.

The new Testament states that we should keep the 10 commandments.

Rom 3:31 KJV Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law.
Jas 2:8-12
8 If ye fulfil the royal law according to the scripture, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself, ye do well: 9 But if ye have respect to persons, ye commit sin, and are convinced of the law as transgressors. 10 For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all. 11 For he that said, Do not commit adultery, said also, Do not kill. Now if thou commit no adultery, yet if thou kill, thou art become a transgressor of the law. 12 So speak ye, and so do, as they that shall be judged by the law of liberty.
Mat 5:17-18
17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. 18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.

Make sure you understand the difference...

These verses clearly show us that the moral law dose not change ...
It's you who refuses to see the truth.

Colossians 2:14 - Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross.

Ephesians 2:15 - having abolished in His flesh the enmity, that is, the law of commandments contained in ordinances, so as to create in Himself one new man from the two, thus making peace.

Colossians 2:14 and Ephesians 2:15 refer to the old covenant of law including the ten commandments. Also see 2 Corinthians 3:6-9 - who also made us sufficient as ministers of the new covenant, not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life. 7 But if the ministry of death, written and engraved on stones, was glorious, so that the children of Israel could not look steadily at the face of Moses because of the glory of his countenance, which glory was passing away, 8 how will the ministry of the Spirit not be more glorious? 9 For if the ministry of condemnation had glory, the ministry of righteousness exceeds much more in glory.

An unbiased reading of Colossians 2:16 shows that this is talking about not just "ceremonial Sabbaths" as SDA's and other sabbatarians try to argue. The words "ton sabbaton" or "sabbath days"; are the same words translated "Sabbath day" in Exodus 20:8 in the Septuagint.

Paul's reasoning here, "Let no one judge you regarding a,

festival - yearly Sabbaths,
a new moon - monthly Sabbaths,
or a Sabbath day - weekly Sabbaths (or if you wish Sabbath days)"
Paul goes on to say is that Jesus is "Substance", these things were shadows.

When this passage is compared with Galatians 4:9 a connection in Paul's teaching is revealed: "But now that you have come to know God, or rather to be known by God, how is it that you turn back again to the weak and worthless elemental things, to which you desire to be enslaved all over again? You observe days and months and seasons and years."

Verse 10 clearly states, "you observe...",

days (weekly Sabbaths, corresponding to "Sabbath days" in Colossians 2)
months (new moons, corresponding to "a new moon" in Colossians 2)
seasons (the 7 feasts, corresponding to "festivals" in Colossians 2)
and years (the sabbatical year and the 50th year of Jubilee)

Paul is clearing speaking about the observances of all Jewish holy days, including the weekly Sabbath.

When God wants to refer to the whole system of Jewish holy days, rather than name them all, He would refer to the yearly, monthly and weekly as representing the whole system. SDA's try to get around this by arguing that the Sabbath Day of Colossians 2:16 is the years Sabbaths. But yearly Sabbaths were already referred to in Colossians 2:16 as "festivals". The "Year, Month, Week" pattern is well established in the Old Testament and Colossians 2:16 does not exclude the weekly Sabbath.

Yearly, monthly, weekly pattern proves it is the weekly Sabbath

1 Chronicles 23:31 - Weekly Sabbaths, monthly (new moons), yearly (fixed festivals)

2 Chronicles 2:4 - Weekly Sabbaths, yearly (appointed feasts), monthly (new moons)

2 Chronicles 8:13 - Weekly Sabbaths, yearly (annual feasts), monthly (new moons)

2 Chronicles 31:3 - Weekly Sabbaths, yearly (fixed festivals), monthly (new moons)

Nehemiah 10:33 - Weekly Sabbaths, yearly (appointed times), monthly (new moon)

Isaiah 1:13-14 - Weekly Sabbaths, yearly (appointed feasts), monthly (new moon)

Ezekiel 45:17 - Monthly (new moons), weekly (Sabbaths), yearly (appointed feasts)

Ezekiel 46:1-11 - Weekly (Sabbaths), monthly (new moons), yearly (appointed feasts)

Hosea 2:11 - Yearly (festal assemblies), monthly (new moons), weekly (Sabbaths)

Galatians 4:10 - Years, months, days

Colossians 2:16 - Festival, new moon, Sabbath day

God included the 4th commandment (keeping the weekly Sabbath day holy) in the 10 commandments for the Israelites under the old covenant of law. (Exodus 20:2; 31:12-17; 35:1-3; Deuteronomy 5:15).

Under the new covenant. Colossians 2:16 - Therefore no one is to act as your judge in regard to food or drink or in respect to a festival or a new moon or a Sabbath day 17 things which are a mere shadow of what is to come; but the substance belongs to Christ.

"He has made us competent as ministers of a new covenantnot of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills...the ministry that brought death, which was engraved in letters on stone...the ministry that condemns." But if the ministry of death, written and engraved on stones, was glorious, so that the children of Israel could not look steadily at the face of Moses because of the glory of his countenance, which glory was passing away, how will the ministry of the Spirit not be more glorious? For if the ministry of condemnation had glory, the ministry of righteousness exceeds much more in glory. (2 Corinthians 3:6-9).

The law on our heart and mind is the love of the Spirit, not the law of the letter. This is why Paul tells us that the new covenant is a covenant of the Spirit, and not of the letter.

Make sure you understand the difference...

All the laws are important. It is the sabbath that is attached the most.
Attached the most to what? Who did God command to keep the sabbath day holy? The Israelites under the old covenant of law or the Church, the body of Christ under the new covenant? (Exodus 20:2-10; Exodus 31:12-17; 35:1-3; Deuteronomy 5:15) The Israelites.

Justification by faith alone requires us to believe in the perfect life of Jesus.
What about His death, burial and resurrection? (Romans 1:16; 1 Corinthians 15:1-4)

But we also believe in loving Jesus...
Do you believe in/have faith in the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ as the ALL-sufficient means of your salvation? Or do you also believe in/have faith in your best efforts to love Jesus by commandment keeping as the means of your salvation? (salvation by works)

Do you love Jesus?
Yes, I do. 1 John 4:19 - We love him, because he first loved us. Romans 5:5 - Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us. :)

1Jn 5:2-3
2 By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments. 3 For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous. Joh 14:15 If ye love me, keep my commandments.
What do you believe it means to "keep" (Greek word "tereo") His commandments? It means to guard, observe, watch over His commandments and not flawlessly obey the 10 commandments under the old covenant of law, which is a big fail for everyone, except Jesus Christ.

Strong's Greek: 5083. τηρέω (téreó) -- To keep, to guard, to observe, to watch over
What are the "Commandments of God" for the Church, the body of Christ? - Bible Truth Versus SDA Doctrine - Mark of the Beast

1Jn 5:18 KJV We know that whosoever is born of God sinneth not; but he that is begotten of God keepeth himself, and that wicked one toucheth him not.
Do you teach sinless perfection? 1 John 5:18 (AMPC) - We know [absolutely] that anyone born of God does not [deliberately and knowingly] practice committing sin, but the One Who was begotten of God carefully watches over and protects him [Christ’s divine presence within him preserves him against the evil], and the wicked one does not lay hold (get a grip) on him or touch [him].

Is it wrong to love God and keep His commandments...?
No. 1 John 4:7 - Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. John 13:34 - A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. 1 John 3:23 - And this is His commandment: that we should believe on the name of His Son Jesus Christ and love one another, as He gave us commandment.

Which includes the sabbath day. ?[/QUOTE] Every time you see the word "commandments" in the NT you assume it's 10 commandments from the old covenant of law. (2 Corinthians 3:6-9) Christians are not obligated to keep the sabbath day (Colossians 2:16-17) and find their "sabbatismos" rest in Jesus Christ (Hebrews 4:9) in contrast to keeping the weekly sabbath day under the law. (Exodus 20:2-10; Exodus 31:12-17; 35:1-3; Deuteronomy 5:15)

Since the old covenant has been made obsolete, does this leave us with no moral direction? Absolutely not. God made the old covenant obsolete to legally put into place the new covenant. (2 Corinthians 3:6-9; Hebrews 8:6-13) The life of discipleship flows out of the new command, to love one another as He loved us (John 13:34), and the apostle Paul says that by bearing one another's burdens, we fulfill "law of Christ." (Galatians 6:2) So, love fulfills the law (Romans 13:8-10) and out of this single command comes other commands, including references for the moral aspect of 9 of the 10 commandments which are reiterated under the new covenant, yet the command to keep the sabbath day is not binding on Christians under the new covenant.

1. You shall have no other gods before Me. - Acts 14:15
2. You shall make no idols. - 1 John 5:21
3. You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain. - James 2:7; James 5:12
4. Keep the Sabbath day holy. - Not binding on the Church - Colossians 2:16-17
5. Honor your father and your mother. - Ephesians 6:1-2
6. You shall not murder. - Romans 13:9 10; 1 John 3:15
7. You shall not commit adultery. - Romans 13:9-10; 1 Corinthians 6:9-10
8. You shall not steal. - Romans 13:9-10; Ephesians 4:28
9. You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor. - Romans 13:9-10; Colossians 3:9-10
10. You shall not covet. - Romans 13:9-10; Ephesians 5:3
