I have tried a few things but suffer from a lack of focus, easily thinking about other things, and not doing what I want to do especially due to a lack of motivation also. I also suffer from a bit diabetes as a skinny person and a bit of liver issues. I can only think to do a very long term keto or low fat low carb high protein and leafy salad type diet trying to keep my liver empty of carbohydrates and no oil / fat other than lean meats and fish etc.

I do not really know what to do about focus. I have always been a bit short term memory issued and short attentioned. I thought of things but they are not easily available and may only be addiction stimulating or not I dont know. Aniracetam / Ritalin etc (Dr only). I tried ashwaganda / lions mane mushroom gingko biloba and all had liver signs of not being good as if the liver did not want it and made lumpy blotches like nettle stings on until stopped (nootropics etc).

I have no idea what I need and do not have thousands to spend on tests. So what works naturally or easily available for motivation, and / or focused attention? Any ideas? Leucine / Serine plants to help etc? Homeblend herbs? other? Thanks.

And how do we delete a useless thread post?

Read about the gut-brain axis. There is a relationship between what we eat and our mental health.

Dave,

It sounds like you have ADHD. Have you tried caffeine? Caffeine has similar effects on the brain as ADHD medications. As for lack of motivation, it could be you need more focused goals. Set goals for years, months, weeks, and then daily. This will help with motivation. Another reason could be the food you're eating slows down the receptors in the brain. The government has been spraying glyphosate, which is basically (ROUNDUP) on everything that is not organic. Other than causing cancer, it numbs the receptors in the brain.

Hi Dave44,

It sounds like you decided on a low fat diet. That is the first place I'd check for a lack of energy problem. There are all kinds of possibilities for lack of energy. This isn't a consultation.
What I can do is provide some information that you can look I to and decide for yourself.

I would continue to cut out all seed oils/ vegetable oils. However fatty meat, clean free range eggs and calf liver is easy to introduce and see if it affects energy.
When you make a salad, think of a "cheff salad" with eggs/ soft yolks, avocado, mixed vegetables, DARK leafy greens (organic.) Skip the dressing. The egg, avocado, meat juice will make up for it and then some.

When you get a craving for carbs or processed food, go to meat and veggies. Be cautious with fruit since you are diabetic.
For beverages, purified water throughout the mornings and day but not near meals. It dilutes sto.ach acid and enzymes when you need them most. Keep hydrated so the cells can eliminate wastes as well as the GI tract.

As for liver health, many find that milk thistle seeds ground, found in better supplements, help protect and liver function. 3 BMs / day is ideal to keep the toxins out. Take quality supplements every day with meals is recommended to keep up minerals, etc.

This isn't tailored to you personally because that would require a consultation. However, it's a simple plan that many found quite helpful regarding liver, and fatigue from toxin buildup and hormonal deficits.
I will pray for your health and let us know how you are doing once per week.
