AI is touted as a great help to humanity. However, some, including Elon Musk, warn of great dangers. From a Christian perspective, what could be wrong with AI? Surely it can be beneficial if done right?

I see a number of problems with depending on A AI.

1. Job replacement. AI is already taking over jobs formerly done bu humans
2. Bias. AI will behave exactly as it is programmed to behave. Selective and biased reporting has long been an issue in news media. Who assesses bias if AI is used exclusively?
3. Conscience. AI has no conscience.
4. Godless. There are claims/fears that AI will develop to the point that it becomes sentient, i.e. self aware. This cannot happen as AI has no spirit and no soul. So while AI may appear to be self aware, it will only ever be a product of human intelligence.
5. Confusion. The world is full of different religions, different political systems and different philosophies. AI has no way of discerning which is correct. Will AI be programmed to reflect what God has to say? Not a hope. The opposite is most likely.

I believe that AI will eventually be used to oppress, deceive and enslave humanity. We Christians need to be alert and allow God to sharpen our discernment. We do not want to be deceived along with the world.

I once was young, now I'm old, but never have I seen any scare anybody trumped up that was actually warranted.

Y2K computer bug, 88 reasons Jesus will return in 1988, barcodes, social security number, AIDS, the current pope at any given time is the Antichrist, the current president at any given time is the Antichrist, cell phones cause brain cancer...

I have heard many people issuing stern warnings about all these things. None of them have ever proven to be worth all the trouble.
