Okay,

So I installed Firefox just so I could use the reaction emojis here on CC, like that is the only reason I installed firefox. I'm not liking the firefox search engine layouts or anything about it and if it wasn't for the emojis I would uninstall it.
Now I'm having trouble using it even on CC.
The reaction emojis work just fine; however, I can not use anything on the tool bar other than the GIF icon and the toggle cog.
I can't figure out how to, I guess "untoggle".
If the attach file button works I will post an image of what it looks like for me.
Strangly, the first few times I used firefox here it wasn't like this

Oh, and also, when I try to click on toggle button or giphy, nothing happens.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled with no success in fixing it either.

You got further than I did. It's not compatible with my chromebook. So I guess CC will no longer work for me. :(

Well, I thought what I found for firefox was compatible for this chromebook. I did a search for "firefox that will work with a chromebook", but guess it has it's flaws too.

The only emoji I can use is like. It's kinda annoying. lol
I agree, which is why I tried to get firefox.
But even with firefox (which I am not on at the moment) I'm having trouble.
And firefox wont let me be signed into CC on both google and firefox at the same time. It tells me there is a securit error and wants me to reload the page.
So if I REALLY want to leave an emoji reaction I have to use (y) or sign in and out of chrome/firefox which is not only annoying but time consuming (and I for one don't have that kind of time... or patience lol)
Or wait wait for others to leave reactions and piggy back off theirs.

Imagine that emoji is a sad emoji, lol Well if anyone finds a fix, let us know.

Hit the toggle or the gear looking thingy one more time.
What do you get?
Yep, you have toggled BB code cog. So when you click the cog again. all other options will reappear...
I keep clicking it, but nothing happens/changes.
Also, when hovering over the cog my mouse icon is a white hand with poining finger, but when hovering over the giphy image it is a black arrow (if that means anything)

@Godsgirl1983 i guess the key thing that you have mentioned so far is that you have a ChromeBook.
A chromebook is sort of like an iPad and it's restricted in a lot of ways in what you can and cannot do.
For example when my kids were in elementary school, the school gave them chromebooks which would not connect or allow to connect to our home printer.

There is a work around for the emoji issue, though not a great one.
1] Hold down the thumbs up button until the empty black bar pops up
2] Remove your finger
3] Place your finger on the empty emoji bar and keep your finger on it
4] Slide your finger side to side, the names of the emojis will pop up
5] Stop on the emoji you want and raise your finger on the screen and it should work

I'm sure this should work with a mouse cursor as well.
The names will appear just above the emoji, and not very big letters. So if you're using a phone it can be a bit difficult to read, but doable.

Are you using a Chrome Book?

I am thinking it has to do with the settings on your Chrome Book
Can you check your permissions?

Oh, her Chromebook is a touchscreen too?
This can complicate things further.

Hmm, we use those at work, they do have limitations, good accessibility features though.
Agree, but at this point anything considered a 'tablet' is usually brought to our helpdesk because troubleshooting these things over the phone can take hours and we don't have remote tools for them, like TeamViewer.
So here it might take a couple of weeks if we were to ask screenshots, model number, OS version etc. :)

Gotta love the help desk at work where would be without them!!
They are the best.
