As my title says, I found a really cool app that makes scripture memorization kind of fun, and I wanted to share it. It's just called "Bible Memory: The Bible Memory App." I got it from the Google play store. I like it enough that I will probably eventually try the very reasonably priced (unless it's changed) pro version, but I have done pretty well so far with the free version.
Basically it works by having you type the first letter of each word in the verse to work as a sort of shorthand for practicing. This is first done with all the words written out, then you are given every other word, then you have to remember all but they will give you a red box to show you the shape of any word you are struggling with. You can work on single verses or work up to whole chapters, and there are lots of translations to choose from.
Even my mom who is terrible with electronics is able to do it with some help, though I can't say the same for my visually impaired friend. I am still trying to figure some things out, myself though, like how to pick a whole chapter to add to my memorization list. I got Psalm 91 by joining a group. If anyone can clue me in there, it would be appreciated.
