Hi, I'm Rzuo!
I'm on a journey of faith, learning, and personal growth. I love exploring scripture and deepening my understanding of God's word while also studying history, Mythology, and different perspectives to gain wisdom. My faith shapes how I approach life - with curiosity, reflection, and a desire to seek truth. I believe in meaningful conversations, personal transformation, and living with purpose. Excited to connect with like-minded people and grow together in faith!

Tell me a little about yourself? What journey are you on?

Hello @TTripleTriste, welcome to CChat :) I'm glad that you found us and joined in the discussions with us!

God bless you!! (1 Thessalonians 5:23-24)

~Deuteronomy (David)
p.s. - as far as something about me goes, there is this: I was baptized as an infant and raised in the church (so to speak), and I loved it, for the most part (I attended Sunday School and then church regularly until college, sang in the choirs, got confirmed, when on retreats, etc., you know, the whole 9 yards.

Then I went to college, decided to give the world a try, and walked away from the church :(

I always thought that I was a Christian however, even during the decade of my 20's (when I was no longer going to church and living a very fun, but sinful life), so what a surprise it was to find out that I never was, a true Christian, that is, on the day that I finally became one, two months after my 30th birthday (which was 38+ years ago now, PTL :)).

BTW, I love the verse (Psalm 27:3) that you listed as your favorite! Here's a Christian quote that I believe you'll enjoy too, from missionary and author Elisabeth Elliot, and the Scriptures verses that were used to create it (see the Scripture link below the quote).

you shouldn't have mentioned the above, i'm the type to tell it all. (joking) i'll keep it minimal:

grew up poor, parents had 5 boys, no girls, was beaten tremendously, poor grades in school, no confidence in anyone or anything, was mocked by kids in school, raised catholic, at 12, i knew catholicism was wrong, entered high school, poor grades again, became a vandal destroying the city with about another 20 to 30 kids because none of us were receiving attention, (record books show the city we destroyed suffered more damage than any other city in the COUNTRY), example: we used to throw lit m-80's in the hospital), never was arrested, then began to realize my high level of ambition & to implement it in life, started playing drums at 12, in band at 16 making $50 to $100 a night, thereafter, many successful local bands including recording on 3 records, an mtv video, local touring, started working in high school at various jobs, landscaping at 16, graduated school (i don't know how, probably because we stole the exam answers, it's true, we did ), people with knowledge enter my my life, worked in a factory while playing music & landscaping for 7 years, full time landscaping & construction at age 26, involved in antiques since 1980, dealing in silver & gold coins early on, working like a "work-a-holic" my whole life, extensive traveling to Hawaii, California, Manhattan, Saratoga & the Caribbean, pro baseball games, many concerts, many gourmet dinners, sight seeing, scenic flights, skydiving, etc., became a born again Christian in 1993, met my wife in 2016 while caring for my next door neighbor, assisted with caring for the elderly & handicapped on a volunteer basis for 37 years, no kids, & now to the present, still working at 66, dealing in coins & antiques, no band presently but going to retire April 1st!

That's really cool Ruzo! I just turned 18 and am trying to improve myself mentally spiritually and physically. I know the best way to do that is to have God involved so I figured surrounding myself with His followers would be a good move

Thanks! I like to make music and draw. I always considered myself a Christian but began to take it a little more seriously around age seven, but at age fourteen, my faith was weakened and since then it's gotten harder to walk the narrow path. I was out in the foster care system at age three and adopted with my sister at age eight, my biological mom died when I was eleven and when I was fifteen I learned that I had a grandma I never met who lived in cuba but had just died at age 102. I've kinda been struggling with bitterness and poor coping methods like porn or just drowning in my music or bottling up my feelings, but I'm trying to do better now.

I must say, an excellent question... as I read a few stories shared by fellow Christians, it certainly penetrates the heart...real people with real struggles.. pulled at my heart strings... the old pound scripture at each other does not penetrate, must be of the flesh, (unless done in love of course),, although it's company,,,haha( I speak only for myself)

I will partake a little, I am the chief sinner.... I have been, & am very blessed, yet as the foolish things of the world, my choices have landed me in hot water many a time, I have visited the deep dark abyss, make no mistake, yet I enjoy the sky Light these days mostly I figure....

would have liked to, & still would like to source out my decisions, although I/we Need Jesus as my ONE and ONLY Good Shepherd

Married the same women twice, the 1st time for love, the 2nd time as a care giver, thought Jesus would place a medal on my chest (so to speak, and not about earning anything) yet that is not what happened, JESUS is calling me to LOVE my wife, as myself.... easier said than done.... yet another insurmountable mountain, I need JESUS to move for me,,, I look forward to the challenge...

I do not enjoy my job, want out, yet so lucky to have a job in this climate, and really trying to see all the blessings in my work, and as part of the Lighted path with JESUS. I do hope I get to keep my job, ( sounds contradictory, tell me about it!),......for what would I do without it, as the foolish things of the world... haha, but very true

I love the Christian education, I have truly learned to love (education), and desperate for it, I often beg GOD not to take it away from me when I stray even a little, yet in rebellion none the less, Oh ya did I tell you I have a hard head, & am a slow learner!

I would be lost without JESUS guiding me,

I have become so very dependant on the fight, I cannot stress this enough, it just happened one day.....

the walk, the education.... although I almost always feel I am losing the battles, I am getting tougher & tougher opponents that the enemy seems to face me with..... & of course I only get Victory, in JESUS when I do....

most times I feel I do not know how I will face another day... (although I do have periods of peace( when I use all my vacation,,haha). yet GOD IS MOST Merciful, and do not worry about me, JESUS has my back, pray HE keeps me in HIS HAND...

The hardness of the path (often in retrospect it was nothing, when in the past), yet the thinking its rough waters ahead, keeps me/us close to JESUS, in my understanding; with my deep & complete need for HIM

as for your struggles in the flesh, the answer is always more time with THE GOD of Jacob, in JESUS Great NAME,, I suggest three hours of prayer a day.... and if the flesh (like porn (someone mentioned slaver too this, I believe) ),, & you also must want to beat the fleshly control (in all I have learned), so after prayer use GODS STRENGTH, & MERCY to overcome,,,, if you still are a slave to that particular fleshly lusts your trying to overcome.....get back on your knees until JESUS GIVES you Victory!

I will pray for all you made and make a post here!

in love with& peace

I heard one comment about helping the homeless, that is very powerful in my ears, I would like that on my path someday...
