I remember many years ago reading a prophecy that said something to effect of communications going down and the men of war being confused. Does anyone have any idea where I might have read this? I do remember it was in the Old Testament. Maybe it's just my imagination but I seem to remember clearly reading it. Thanks.

It kind of sounds like when God confused the langauges. The people had one language, but then God made them have many langauges. It's purpose was to stop them from being able to do anything. Like building a tower to reach heaven.

But IDK.

No, it's not that. I think I may have heard it on Jack Van Impe's show back in the day. If I remember right, he was talking about EMPs and said that could fulfill the prophecy because an EMP would disrupt communications. I remember looking it up and didn't think too much about it at the time, but now I'm curious to look at it again and see exactly what it said. That's the way I remember it at least. On the other hand, memory has a way of playing tricks on a person, especially when it's old.

Maybe in Ezekiel 38 through 39? The reference is God's dealing with Gog and Magog. They are also noted in Revelation 20.

that might be Jehoshaphat
Who was King then and had three armies coming after him
They got to the battle place and Jehoshaphat had sent out the praise and worship band up front. Now those three armies after Israel through King Jehoshaphat, got confuse, when they heard the praise and worship band and the ended up killing each other in confusion who when at war sends out the praise and worship band up front
see it now, God won for us by Son willing to die once for us all as the winner for us even in any and every battle happening now
God Father by Son as risen removes worry, fear, guilt and pride for me anyways and anyone else that will choose belief as well to Father and Son as won for them too. Then there is no need to fight ever anyone. You now are in that praise and worship band too
Thanks for asking and getting me to remember this story of what happened back then

Could an EMP attack be a part of the end times?
https://www.gotquestions.org/EMP-attack.html

Without delving too deeply into the actual science, an electromagnetic pulse (EMP) attack would essentially fry electric circuits and knock out electricity in the affected area. Depending on how wide and for how long an area loses electricity, the effects of an EMP attack could be devastating. So much of the world relies upon electricity. Communications, banking, and transportation would be severely impacted.

The Bible does not specifically predict an EMP attack in the end times. Questions concerning an EMP attack in the end times are similar to questions concerning a nuclear attack in the end times. Does biblical end times prophecy allow for it? Yes. Does biblical end times prophecy explicitly predict it? No. The Bible predicts war in the end times, and another world war is definitely possible. However, the Bible does not predict any specific modern weapons that will be used in the end times conflicts.

The idea of an EMP attack is interesting, though. If EMP attacks were launched worldwide, rendering all technology useless, the world would essentially revert to a state comparable to that of 2,000 years ago. This would mean that the biblical references to swords, horses, etc., in the end times wars could be understood literally (Isaiah 2:4; Ezekiel 38:15; Revelation 14:20). But this is speculation. Most interpreters of Bible prophecy believe the Word of God is simply describing the end times wars figuratively, using terminology familiar to the people who lived at the time the prophecies were written.

So, could an EMP attack be a part of the end times? Definitely. Does the Bible explicitly predict that an electromagnetic pulse will return the world to the Dark Ages during the end times? No

Hi. I was lurking, and I saw your question, so I joined. I don't think this verse actually says what you are looking for, but it came to mind, so here it is.

For every battle of the warrior is with confused noise, and garments rolled in blood; but this shall be with burning and fuel of fire. - Isaiah 9:5

It wasn't a narrative but a prophecy.

lurker, that has to be it. Van Impe used the KJV, and that's the only major translation that uses the word "confused" in that passage. And I had it in the back of my mind it might've been Isaiah. I don't know why I couldn't find it by searching; seems like it should've been a simple one. Thanks a lot for posting; I really appreciate it.

You're welcome. When I read your question, that verse immediately came to my mind. Before I posted it, I checked other translations to see if they might be worded more in line with your question, and I did notice that most of them not only did not use the word "confused," but that they also read quite differently. I am happy that it was the right verse anyway. I hate when I can't remember something, so I took a chance to possibly help you. I am glad that it paid off.

I think Jack Van Impe must've mentioned the part about the communications being down since it's not in the passage. That was his interpretation of why they were confused. I remembered it wrong and thought it was part of the prophecy.

Yes, I noticed the reading is different in the other translations. Even the NKJV is quite different.

Might be Revelations 18, hoping to help you in this and this is not in the Old Testament, yet is a prophesy of what will be and happen to this earth we are in and not of, once anyone stands in belief to God over it all
Thanks
