I am a 32 year old female Christian who is morbidly obese almost 500 lbs, sedentary, unemployed, living with and still depending on my parents, broke, with very bad oral hygiene, an unclean room, unnade bed, a ton of dirty clothes, I haven't washed my body in 3 months tops, and I barely go to church but I do read the Bible, talk to God sometimes, and pray to God sometimes. What does this say about my witness. Is it compromised or weakened?

Hi, glad you're here. I'll have to be perfectly honest, your witness is probably the last thing you need to be concerned about if what you have said is true. The Lord cares for you and wants you to take care of yourself. It took a lot of courage to share what you did, so I believe you have the courage to improve your situation if you make up your mind to. I'll pray with you and will be here to talk if you need to.

What is beneath your current state? Depression? It took time to get where you are. Sometimes things happen in life where we feel like giving up, sometimes we do. So is there something that was a first cause that sent you down this path? We can always be a witness to someone. And if you can start trying to change, even one thing, it would make your testimony even more sincere.

That takes courage to admit.

I look at things from a holistic point of view.

23And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

We are wonderfully made by God and it sounds like you want to be a reflection of His glory as He created us to be. We are not only physical beings, but soul and spirit too. A planner type calendar will help.
With exceptions, we are usually a result of our habits, our routines.
We tend towards what we are accustomed with. Once we know that, how do we make changes in our lives that go in a beneficial direction?

One key is to make small changes.
If you pick too big a goal, it will seem overwhelming and too easy to give up. Just do something right now that will make your health feel better. When you get a planner, under $2 at the dollar stores in some places, write your short easy to achieve goals.

First goal could be to set up a chair outside and get into the sunshine and fresh air.
If That's your goal for today... If that seems reasonable to you, Do that right now and ask for assistance if needed.

Tomorrow do the same as soon after waking up as possible. The sunshine on your skin produces the hormone/"vitamin" D that makes you feel good, helps strengthen and increase energy.

God loves you for who you are, but that doesn't mean you can't take some accountability to make changes.
I think with you being 500 lbs, you need to really lose a lot of weight. Our bodies just aren't designed to be so heavy.
Please note, I'm not a doctor, but you can probably take some vitamins and fast (extended) days or even weeks to the Lord and it will help your soul and your body.

It's impossible to love others if you do not love yourself. Not looking after yourself is a clear sign that you do not love yourself. So, yes, your witness is compromised. You are likely clinically depressed.

Jesus came to set the captives free. Complete freedom is available if you will seek it. It will take some effort on your part. This is not "works", but your will has become weak. The only answer is to exercise your will. It's no different from exercising physically. The more you actively choose, and carry out your decisions, the stronger you will get in choosing.

You should also ask God to strengthen your will. He is only too pleased to answer such prayers.

When you start to address hygiene and health issues, you will feel better in yourself and become the real you. That is vital to your well being. I've been depressed myself and I know that these principles work.

Start moving. Walk. That's a start. Do something creative, even if its a jigsaw puzzle. Wash your clothes and make your bed, brush your teeth and have a shower. As you do, God will step in to help you. But you must show your willingness.
