Well I would quote the scripture that Jesus spoke in the NT, but I can't find it for some reason.

The pirate moves did just this very thing. They turned darkness into light, and light into darkness. Looking at a modern one for example, Pirates of the Caribbean.

They made pirates look like peace loving heroes.

Have you ever seen a documentary on pirates. They raped little girls and women, then threw them to the sharks. They robbed and stole, destroyed the plundered ships killing everyone.

The movies made the royal navy look like stupid hateful, stuck up, and spoiled peoples. But what they where really doing was saving everyone by chasing after the pirates by the order of the King. Which, we know that God established all governments for a reason.

Now let me show you something this causes to happen in the people.
If thy eye be filled with darkness, how great that darkness.

I agree this does happen, but I disagree with using pirates as the example. History has known all manner of men and pirates, just as it has known all manner of governments. Indeed, some pirates robbed people less and treated them better than many governments do - not all men or all pirates raped women, and certainly not girls.

I think Pirates of the Caribbean shone the light on the fact that pirates can be ordinary people who just don't want government in their lives, and governments can be (and are!) filled with the bumbling and incompetent, and cause more problems for ordinary people than they solve, especially when they have chips on their shoulders which they think gives them a license to act in the same way as pirates, but without the consequences.

Some examples - one of the first scenes is Jack Sparrow getting robbed (taxed) for simply arriving at Port Royal (remember, his ship had sunk so it was not a fee for use of the harbour). If a pirate took such a fee on the high seas, it would be considered an act of piracy, yet governments are somehow exempt from the laws they create for others.

The next example I recall is the government - sailors, no less - being too incompetent to save the innocent drowning girl, so the pirate saves her, and instead of being thanked by the government for the task they should have done (and caused), is instead held to account for being a pirate.

I won't go on, but I think you get my point. While small government to hold evil-doers to account is good and instituted by God, I think one of the themes from movies like Pirates of the Caribbean is that in most cases, governments are really the worst pirates of them all - but in flashy (and stifling!) uniforms.
