I grew up listening to a lot of Christian music. Michael W Smith.. Carman.. DC Talk. I've big into some of the alternative stuff, too, like Tooth and Nail Records.
I've been to Tomfest before and always wanted to go to Cornerstone or Creationfest. Are there any Christian music festivals these days that people here attend?
90s Tooth and Nail was awesome. It put out some great albums back then, as well as breathing a breath of fresh air into 90s heavy Xian music.
Focused, Unashamed and Strongarm were beasts. Being a local band I got to see Strongarm about 7 or 8 times. To this day that first album hits me hard. And the vocalist for that album had an amazing voice.
Never made it to any fests back then. I'd always wanted to make C-stone, but I was young and didn't have the money.
The 90s was a great time for heavy Xian music.
LS were great. I especially loved their first album. Their first 3 were all good. After that they changed styles too far away from their roots. Although Reborn was really good as well.
I dug early Extol.
I dig early DH. Their first 3 were all great albums. After that they went more for a commercial sound that I didn't care for, with a few exceptions.
