Is there a Bible verse that says whom the Lord will choose? Or is it just up to the Lord's hidden will we don't know?
“And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.”
‭‭Genesis‬ ‭1:26-28‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Adam and Eve were chosen and given a law

“And the LORD God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it. And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die. And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed.”
‭‭Genesis‬ ‭2:15-17, 25‬ ‭KJV‬‬

They chose the certain death in his word , broke the commandment and were then cast out of his presence. And kept from the tree of life ( genesis 3:17-24)

Later on consider that this came about

“but I have chosen Jerusalem, that my name might be there; and have chosen David to be over my people Israel.”
‭‭2 Chronicles‬ ‭6:6‬ ‭

then it came about that israel and particularly bad was Jerusalem in breaking the covenant God made with them sinning every way possible ke worshipping multiple idols and false dieties of the nations around them for many generations and so this them became the word regarding thier choosing came

“And the LORD said, I will remove Judah also out of my sight, as I have removed Israel, and will cast off this city Jerusalem which I have chosen, and the house of which I said, My name shall be there.”
‭‭2 Kings‬ ‭23:27‬ ‭

But why ? Any number of ot prophecies to israel sound like this

I have spread out my hands all the day unto a rebellious people, which walketh in a way that was not good, after their own thoughts; a people that provoketh me to anger continually to my face; ( Gods chosen people can still rebel and provoke him to anger and wrath against them ot happened a lot in the ot ) that sacrificeth in gardens, and burneth incense upon altars of brick; which remain among the graves, and lodge in the monuments, which eat swine's flesh, and broth of abominable things is in their vessels; which say, Stand by thyself, come not near to me; for I am holier than thou. These are a smoke in my nose, a fire that burneth all the day.

Behold, it is written before me: I will not keep silence, but will recompense, even recompense into their bosom, your iniquities, and the iniquities of your fathers together, saith the LORD, which have burned incense upon the mountains, and blasphemed me upon the hills: therefore will I measure their former work into their bosom.

Therefore will I number you to the sword, and ye shall all bow down to the slaughter: because when I called, ye did not answer; when I spake, ye did not hear; but did evil before mine eyes, and did choose that wherein I delighted not.

Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD, Behold, my servants shall eat, but ye shall be hungry: behold, my servants shall drink, but ye shall be thirsty: behold, my servants shall rejoice, but ye shall be ashamed: behold, my servants shall sing for joy of heart, but ye shall cry for sorrow of heart, and shall howl for vexation of spirit. And ye shall leave your name for a curse unto my chosen:

for the Lord GOD shall slay thee, and call his servants by another name: that he who blesseth himself in the earth shall bless himself in the God of truth; and he that sweareth in the earth shall swear by the God of truth; because the former troubles are forgotten, and because they are hid from mine eyes.

For, behold, I create new heavens and a new earth: and the former shall not be remembered, nor come into mind.”
‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭65:2-7, 12-17‬ ‭KJV‬‬

part of what was happening when Jesus came was this last warning and pronouncement of judgement being imminent on Jerusalem the chosen city of the ot

“O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, which killest the prophets, and stonest them that are sent unto thee; how often would I have gathered thy children together, as a hen doth gather her brood under her wings, and ye would not! Behold, your house is left unto you desolate:
‭‭Luke‬ ‭13:34-35‬ ‭

“And when ye shall see Jerusalem compassed with armies, then know that the desolation thereof is nigh. ( 70 ad) Then let them which are in Judæa flee to the mountains; and let them which are in the midst of it depart out; and let not them that are in the countries enter thereinto.

For these be the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled.

And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: ( not about the end of the world but the desolation of Jerusalem the judgements repetetively written in the ot because they rebelled and defiles his covenant with them )

and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled.”
‭‭Luke‬ ‭21:20-22, 24‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Israel and Jerusalem are perfect examples that God can choose you as his own and have grand plans for you an inheritance and call you his own ……but if you continually rebel against his Will reject his word and ways and live after your own desires and thoughts and break his covenant without repentance , ect ……there’s always clear warnings of what will happen and it always ends in desolation not Gods desolation but the rebels desolation never the blessings he promised for obeying his covenant but always the warnings he spoke for rejecting and breaking it

God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.

It's repeated ad nauseum many many times in many ways.

It ought to be a huge blue paw print...AKA a CLUE.

Chosen is another matter.

Adoniram Judson was called.
George Lyle was Chosen.

Billy Sunday was called
Billy Graham was Chosen.

Need I go further?

Here's another Bible verse on who the Lord chooses:

John 6:45 It is written in the Prophets: ‘They will all be taught by God.’ Everyone who has heard the Father and learned from him comes to me.

So God the Father chooses those who hear Him and learn from Him to send to Jesus His Son for salvation.

Don't know. But maybe.
Christ Jesus so often had Israel and the Gentiles in view when He spoke, if we read the parable in the passage, but we tend to think it is all about us in the 21st century.

Im gonna need you to just tell me what you think it says. Many are called = gentiles? Few chosen = jews?

Those who are of the elect are in Christ. Not one person is elected to be in Christ. Once you hear the gospel and believe, you are part of the elect of God. Elect to service not salvation. Christ is God's elect.

Some people seem to be chosen from birth to become saved, like Paul. Not many people today have an experience like Paul did. If God did to everyone what He did to Paul, most everyone would be converted.

Yeah thats what I believe too. My reasoning for why Paul was chosen was becuase he was a devout guy in his "Former religion" a.k.a judaism. His heart was sincere and he did the persecution in ignorance. So God knew this guy would be a great tool to use.

Ephesians 1:3-5, Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ. Just as He chose us in Him before the foundations of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love. Having predestined us to adaption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will.

2 Thessalonians 2 verses 10b-14a ~ Those who are perishing refused the love of the truth that would have saved them. For this reason God will send them a powerful delusion so that they believe the lie, in order that judgment may come upon all who have disbelieved the truth and delighted in wickedness. But we always thank God for you, brothers who are loved by the Lord, because God has chosen you from the beginning to be saved by the sanctification of the Spirit and by faith in the truth, to which He called you through our gospel.

Interesting! I see more of an Oriental face when I look at that composition, and I looked up what went into
the construction of that face and figure, and the original looks a bit more like Kaleigh that how it ended~

That is the AI generated figure I saved to my HD after generating and saving literally multiple thousands of them
in early December. The eyes were not very well defined, and I do not like the harsh lines AI usually has coming
down from the nose to the lips, either, with the cheeks often overly accentuated... so I overlaid a different AI face,
and overlaid different cheeks on that new face, and also replaced the eyes so they were more realistic. The eyes
are often the most difficult feature to replace, because they need to be looking from the correct angle, and I do
prefer them to be gazing at the viewer... When I was generating the female figures, I had to specify, "looks like"
and then give a name, or the generator would give me its idea of what a woman looks like haha, and I was not
very fond of a lot of what I got before I started specifying. That one was a "looks like Uma Thurman." I used
quite a few different names for my female figures, and also generated hundreds and hundreds of other images
at that time, sunset meadow background types of things, and interiors to use as the backgrounds behind the text.

Don't know. But maybe.
The parable opens with, Once again, Jesus spoke to them in parables: “The kingdom of heaven is like a king who prepared a wedding banquet for his son." The parable is about the kingdom of heaven/God, via the marriage supper of the King's Son, Who we know as the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world (Jesus Christ). We also know this "marriage" takes place at the end of this age, following the resurrection and judgment of all. Towards the end of the parable, the person improperly clothed is excluded, thrown into outer darkness, in fact. That is precisely what precipitated Jesus saying, many are called, few are chosen. It would be difficult to come away with any other conclusion than, if you are not properly clothed, you were not chosen, and salvation is certainly in view. Do we need to ask, clothed in what? The parable tells us it is wedding clothes. What would those be when Jesus is the One being wed? Those who are properly clothed are they who have put on the robes of righteousness belonging to Jesus Christ, for we have no righteousness of our own.

Jesus replied, “Truly, truly, I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again.” Born not of blood, nor of the desire or will of man, but born of God. He chose to give us birth through the word of truth, that we would be a kind of firstfruits of His creation. If anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Christ. You are chosen to proclaim the virtues of Him Who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light. My soul will exult in my God, for He has clothed me with garments of salvation, and wrapped me in a robe of righteousness. Plus Isaiah 61 verse 10

Thanks Hakawaka, for your very good question about what are the reasons that God elects someone to be saved.

In my opinion, it does not at all depend on the individual's own greatness, whether that be their own humbleness or generosity or any other seemingly wonderful thing. In fact, in the Old Testament the sabbath provided a picture of how we are not to do any work to save ourselves. We only rest. God did all the work (with Jesus on the cross) to save us. In fact, those persons who even picked up a few sticks on the sabbath in the Old Testament, were to be condemned. That was a picture of how they were trying to do what Jesus had completely done for them, and to add to it with their own 'goodness' or to substitute themselves for Christ, in terms of their salvation.

The best picture I can think of to illustrate this is the raising of Lazarus. Lazarus was a completely dead stinking corpse that had been dead several days. He could not provide a single iota of helpfulness or righteousness to save himself from being dead and even from stinking as a rotten corpse. Yet God decided on his behalf because he loved him, to send Jesus with the word: Lazarus come forth. And Lazarus did come forth, to life.

That is a physical picture but it is written to show a spiritual situation. When God saves someone because he loves them, he knows that spiritually they are stinking, and incapable of saving themselves. He gives them a new spirit of life, to trust him and to rest in him. Thank you Lord for what you did and for your love. John 3:16.

How does that work with this part of Romans 11?

25For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in.

26And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob:

27For this is my covenant unto them, when I shall take away their sins.

28As concerning the gospel, they are enemies for your sakes: but as touching the election, they are beloved for the fathers' sakes. 29For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance. 30For as ye in times past have not believed God, yet have now obtained mercy through their unbelief: 31Even so have these also now not believed, that through your mercy they also may obtain mercy. 32For God hath concluded them all in unbelief, that he might have mercy upon all.

I would say there are many ways the term elect is used. There are angels who are elect for a certain service, there is THE elect which is Christ, there is Israel who was elect to be a chosen nation.
