I’m relatively new to faith, having been on a lifelong circular journey, only to come home again. I went to church for the first time recently and since then have been filled with a heightened sense of anxiety. It’s a palpable feeling and it’s making me snappy and easily irritated. I’m containing it as best I can but my body and mind are in chaos. Is this normal? I have prayed for clarity and calm. I’m reading lots and looking at myself and the things I do and have done which I know I have to change. It’s just this feeling of anxiety which I didn’t expect. It’s very troubling and I’m not sure what’s going on. Any help or advice? Thank you.

I cannot advise you except to say in this life thee are many troubles and trials. I myself have anxiety at times and it's unclear why. I try to not focus on it but read the Bible out loud and get a lot of rest. Reach out to a few trusted people also. When I am not reading the Bible as in holding one in my hands I like to listen to scripture also.
