I posted a thread about that I had fallen in love with unbeliever, and we all talked about the "unevenly yoked," passages. By the Grace of Our Lord I was delivered from a soul tie to that person when they actually turned on me and mistreated me horribly. It reminded me of the parable of Scorpion that promises not to sting the frog if they cross the river or waters, and so frog takes the Scorpion across, and midway the Scorpion stings the Frog, and Frog crying out why, the Scorpion said, "you knew I was a Scorpion and stinging is what we do."

So true, I found in Scripture though something very alarming about those who refuse to believe, and something to be mindful for those of us Single Christians,
"Once you were dead because of your disobedience and your many sins. You used to live in sin, just like the rest of the world, obeying the devil—the commander of the powers in the unseen world. He (Satan) is the spirit at work in the hearts of those who refuse to obey God." (Ephesians 2:1-2)

Woah.. this is saying Satan is spirit in the hearts of those who refuse to obey God! And what is to obey God, to believe the gospel, "For this is the will of my Father, that everyone who looks on the Son and believes in him should have eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day." (John 6:40). So Ephesians is telling us anyone who refuses to obey the Gospel, that is isn't a Christian has the spirit of Satan in them. So that means at any minute that can accuse you, for The Accuser of the Brethren (Revelation 12:10) is within them!

So if you yoke yourself to an unbeliever, you are not just going to be dealing with if they die knowing where they are going for eternity, or woes of raising children, they have Satan's spirit in them and at any moment can turn on you! So be careful! You are invite Satan into your life to marry an unbeliever.

Yes, the whole world (meaning unbelievers) is under the influence of the evil one... and Scripture
specifically says some are taken captive to the will of the devil. It is verses like those that very
plainly refute the idea of free will, but many simply prefer their man-made traditions and philosophical
thoughts to Scripture truth. The heart of the natural man needs to be replaced so it can love God.

I cited the wrong verse on obedience! Haha to "error is human, to forgive divine."

Here is verse I meant to use to show what obedience is,
"He (Satan) is the spirit at work in the hearts of those who refuse to obey God." (Ephesians 2:1-2), and
"In flaming fire, inflicting vengeance on those who do not know God and on those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus." (2 Thessalonians 1:8).
That makes the clear case of who are not in obedience to God.

Well said, you are quoting Jesus on man-made tradition,
"You leave the commandment of God and hold to the tradition of men.”
And he said to them, “You have a fine way of rejecting the commandment of God in order to establish your tradition! 10 For Moses said, ‘Honor your father and your mother’; and, ‘Whoever reviles father or mother must surely die.’ 11 But you say, ‘If a man tells his father or his mother, “Whatever you would have gained from me is Corban”’ (that is, given to God)[d]— 12 then you no longer permit him to do anything for his father or mother, thus making void the word of God by your tradition that you have handed down. And many such things you do.” (Mark 7:8-13).

That is very pretty @Magenta !

The Apostle Paul also speak of this man made tradition,
"These have indeed an appearance of wisdom in promoting self-made religion and asceticism and severity to the body, but they are of no value in stopping the indulgence of the flesh." (Colossians 2:23)

I'm glad to hear you saw it now rather than later! Now you have experience and don't have to make the same mistake again.

Indeed, one of things that is a major issue is that an unbeliever can never understand your love for Jesus and that relationship. They forever will have an aspect of you, the believer, veiled to them, and that is painful. To not be able to share the most important aspect of who you are is torment.

An unbeliever will never understand why we spend time praying, evangelising, visiting, encouraging above all going to church. in my culture they call us Christian the frustrated especially those of us who go to the west they portray the west as being void of Christians. however we should be able to stand our grounds in our Christ no matter our heart desires and challenges.
thank you for your story dear more Grace

A great example is a movie called Ivanhoe with Sam Neil and Olvia Hussey. In it Ivanhoe has to reject Rebecca despite their chemistry because she is not a Christian. He has to make the hard choice to love another woman who shares his faith, because he knows it won't work.
