I'm married and approaching my golden years. The kids are grown up and gone. In the latter part of the day I cook dinner for the wife and I, then I'll go downstairs and watch a movie most nights. After that I go to bed. Bed time is usually around 8 pm. I start the day early and my productive hours (if I have any) are in the morning. Once to bed I position the nasal cannula so it'll feed me nearly pure oxygen, then I read from the Bible, check a few websites, then read from a book I have on the phone... almost always Christian fiction. After that I pray some and hopefully go to sleep. When I was young and single, my evenings were mostly as uneventful as they are now, with the exception of a few years when I was a member of a Country & Western dance club (Fairbanks Country Kickers). Club members would go out someplace where we could dance on weekends and I believe it was Friday nights that we taught a dance to whomever came. We also did dance performances where we would do sometimes complex choreographed routines to Country & Western music.
Your life sounds super calm and quiet and almost like that of us singles. Cooking for Your wife sounds good and romantic. that's a singles view.

i am married. 3 years after i met my wife, i started to watch tv. you may find that strange. well, even as a little kid, i didn't go for watching tv. probably had something to do with my poor eyesight. & i remember saying to myself when a teen: "i'm probably saving watching tv for when i'm older". yes, that's what happened. so after dinner, which is usually 5:30, i work at accounting, play chess, catch up on phunnneee stuff, watch the yankees, study police auditors, investigate & search for any new jfk assassination facts, play wordle & connections with wifey, look into CC or watch tv. btw, if any of you are interested in the jfk assassination you must find someone that already knows a lot of facts because if you start reading just anything, you most likely are going to waste time. somehow find someone that is an investigator already & into it for decades. nearly every article out there is a fabrication, a half truth, or an outright lie.
Interesting life style but please what is jfk assassination?

i'm guessing you are from another country other than the USA. so kool! well, back on November 22nd, 1963, the president of the United States, John F. Kennedy, ( JFK ), was assassinated, that is killed deliberately. even the short story on this is long. the u.s. government covered up the event with lies, deliberate evidence tampering & miscellaneous ways. the very short story is that the mafia & government people wanted Kennedy killed because he & his brother wanted to eliminate the mafia after the mafia got JFK elected president.

Enril why do men like video games
btw, i very much dislike video games. a story for you: a while back, i took out a girl for dinner for the first time & i knew what was going to occur because i knew she brought her cel phone in the restaurant. so, after about 5 minutes she grabbed her cel phone Y& started playing on it. i watched for a short while. during this time, she was quiet. so, i grabbed my coat, got up to leave. she said, "what are you doing"? i basically told her she was rude & selfish for playing on her cel phone during our first dinner date. she apologized heavily. we dated for a very long time after that, into the decades.

Games allow you to live in the story, oppose to being passive like a book or movie, you participate and get to effect whither the story continues or not.

There is a sense of accomplishment when you complete levels or tasks.

The human brain registers the stress of the video game as real, which also goes for the sense of accomplishment.

Enril why do men like video games
Men, specifically? Why men? I know some girl gamers.

Why do PEOPLE like video games?

For some it's a social activity. They get together with their friends and form a team, and go shooting other teams in games like Halo and Call of Duty. Or they go exploring with their friends in games like FF14 and Word of Warcraft.

Then there are those who want that feeling that they are WINNING! They deliberately play very hard games like Dark Souls, Elden Ring, The Surge and etc. because those games take skill to beat. When they have mastered the reflexes and beaten the game they feel like they have done something significant.

For some it's just something to do. They don't like hanging out at the bar, drinking and playing cards or shooting pool. They don't want to bother with hobbies. They don't like watching TV much. So video games are just something to occupy their time.

Me, I like games with a good story. It's like reading a book, only better! You can wander around in the story and explore various bits of it.

no. this girl i am talking about was the last g.f. before i met my wife. you are probably thinking, "you dated her for decades & didn't marry her"? well, i thought that to be strange also. Jesus must have known something i didn't know because we never talked about getting married & she was a sweet Christian girl.
