A godly person is alert to the details of his conduct so he can be more like Christ.
They might say that God is acting in destructive ways.
“Jerks are individuals who, on the basis of nonsubstantial evidence, go out of their way to make insatiable demands, usually attacking the person or performance of others. These attacks are selfish in nature, tearing down rather than building up, and are frequently directed against those in a leadership capacity.”
They thrive on personal feuds and derail from the bone of contention.
They have this tendency to drag forgotten misunderstandings over time, ressurect past and irrelevant disputes into a fresh matters
They lack courtesy or diplomacy in handling their critics or naysayers
They employ provocation and taunts.
They Have A Dogmatic Mindset.
They are egoistic and self-centred.
They are illogical and poorly use sources.

The person you describe appears to have deep unresolved issues, and probably needs some therapy. If they are refuse to seek help, I would reduce communication. If you are somehow connected to their issues, I would try to understand why this is the case.

If the jerk is a stranger or someone not close to me like a coworker, etc., I would just remind myself that their behavior is more a reflection or insecurity of themselves. I have a coworker who has been argumentative with me for the smallest reasons basically since the start, and I find that avoiding him is best since I have tried to be friendly already. I believe it is some sort of insecurity.

Try having psychopaths in your family . There r some people in this world that , u cannot avoid even if they r incredibly hard work . This is when u have to empty yourself and let Jesus take over . My mum is constantly manipulating and playing nasty games with me . She does not realise that she doesn't have any power to provoke negative emotions in me , oh I still get exasperated and bewildered by her but , never hurt or angered , which is what she's aiming for . She doesn't realise that when she sees me , she's not seeing me , I left the building at her front door . Jesus literally takes over for me and deals with her with all his strength , patience and compassion , yes compassion , believe it not elderly psychopaths can b very vulnerable .
When I can't face a person , Jesus does . Empty yourself and let him take over , he will do it .

If you keep in mind all sins are forgiven, then the only thing left to deal with is their unbelief, which will be dealt with by the only One who is entitled to take that personally.

the truth is spoken! i know a guy who was stopped by the police for going too fast on his motorcycle. the cop said to him, "you're nothing but a punk". the cop didn't exactly have a great reputation. the biker remained calm. the cop made a "jerk" move in his statement. the cop knew who the biker was. the biker, a martial artist, broke the cop's jaw & arm. & for good measure after that, he had his biker friends drive by the cop's house every day at the same time for 2 weeks. no arrest, court or punishment.

It’s quite challenging. For me, it’s looking into the mirror and tell myself to stop acting like a jerk. To no avail…
