Can you post the verse that teaches this? And you are wrong about the question I'm asking.
Where in John 3:5 does it say filled with the Spirit?
It says born of water and of spirit.
John 3:5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
Acts 1 the NT rebirth begins.
1 The former treatise have I made, O Theophilus, of all that Jesus began both to do and teach,
2 Until the day in which he was taken up, after that he through the Holy Ghost had given commandments unto the apostles whom he had chosen:
3 To whom also he shewed himself alive after his passion by many infallible proofs, being seen of them forty days, and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God:
4 And, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard of me.
5 For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence.
Acts 2 this is what happen when they obeyed and waited following instructions.
3 And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.
4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
This is what Peter says happens when you are filled with the Holy Ghost.
Acts 2:33 Therefore being by the right hand of God exalted, and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost, he hath shed forth this, which ye now see and hear.
Peter was speaking to the Jews that was responsible for JESUS being put on the cross and after they heard Peter in Acts 2:37-41
37 Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do?
38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.
40 And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this untoward generation.
41 Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls.
They asked what shall we do, they GLADLY RECEIVED HIS WORD AND WAS BAPITZED AND THE SAME DAY THREE THOUSAND SOULS WERE ADDED.
What we know is JESUS disciples received the Holy Ghost first, no record of them being baptized in JESUS name along with the others. We also the others were bapitzed in JESUS name but don't know if the others were filled with the Holy Ghost.
So lets look at Acts 8, they were baptized but did not receive the Holy Ghost so Phillip sent for Peter and John to lay hands on them. How did they know they didn't get it? NO ONE SPOKE IN TONGUES.
Acts 10 they were filled and spoke in tongues and then was commanded to be baptized.
Acts 19, they just beleived, Paul asked them if they were filled with the Holy Ghost, they said NO, how were you baptized, by John.
Paul gave them insturections they OBEYED was baptized in JESUS name was spoke on tongues.
Go back to Acts 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.
Acts 8, 10 and 19 all were baptized in JESUS name and filled with the Holy GHost with evidence of speaking in tongues just like Acts 2:38-39 says one must do.
