Having a sinful nature and committing sin are different, connected yes, but different nonetheless. Yes, the wages of sin is death, but the sin has to have been committed for the wages to be paid. That's why when a child is born it is innocent, has not committed any sin but is considered a sinner because of it's nature. As far as the battery is concerned, go back and look, I never said flat battery, I don't use that terminology, maybe Brits or Aussies do. I said we THINK it is dead but with a hotshot it is revived, just as the Holy Spirit revives, restores, revitalizes, renews our flat, deadened or dormant human spirits when we receive Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. The only new ( to us ) Spirit we receive at salvation is the Holy Spirit. Dead doesn't always mean lifeless, in this case it means dormant, deadened. I understand exactly what I am saying, you don't. " Spiritual death is separation of spirit and soul."?? " For the Word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, PIERCING EVEN TO THE DIVIDING ASUNDER OF THE SOUL AND SPIRIT,.... " Hebrews 4:12. So by your thoughts Gods' Word brings about spiritual death. And I don't know what I'M talking about. Sad. That rope you were talking about.............)
The sin was committed by Adam. By one man we all became sinners and because of that one sin, we were all born dead. Rom.5:12 Babies, not having committed any personal sin, does not make them innocent for too many die before they commit any personal sin of their own. So you are wrong about having to commit sin before death is applied. Physical death is the outward expression of the inner reality of spiritual death.
The scripture says you are dead. It does not say you are dormant. You continue to ignore this simple fact.
The scripture says the Spirit gives birth to spirit. It does not say He gives birth to Himself. He gives birth to a new spirit. Revival is not birth. You were not revived from your mother's womb.
Heb.4:12 is not speaking of the spirit returning to God who gave it which occurs at the death of a believer. This is you ignoring context again. Heb.4 is speaking of something entirely different.
You missed " in the context of THOSE PARTICULAR SCRIPTURES." I used the actual concordance meanings of the words we discussed, and you know it. In just about all instances I used the first explanation the concordance gave, I do not cherry pick. Of course YOU don't have ANY errors, do you? I just finished with one, a big one, #1777.
But you do cherry pick. Let's look at your methodology shall we from your post #1590?
Let us revisit a subject, if you will. When in the book of James it reads " For as the body without the spirit is dead,..." James 2:26 the word dead here is, Strong's 3498; nek-ros from prim. nekus ( a corpse ), dead lit. or fig, also as a noun dead, This speaks of people who are no longer alive. In Eph. 2:1 it reads " And you hath He quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins;..." The word dead here is the same in James but it can't mean no life because to be in sin you have to be alive. So to study it out I found Strong's 3499, which is derived from 3498; nek-ro; TO DEADEN, I.E. subdue:- be dead, mortify. So the word dead DOES mean deadened in this case, as in our deadened spirits before being quickened, Strong's 2227 dzo-op-oy-eh-o;( re)-vitalize, (lit. or fig.)- make alive, give life, quicken. You revitalize, make alive and give life to something that's already in existence. C'mon Sawdust, gimme some more rope, unless, of course, you have use for it yourself) P.S. Are you one of the ones who don't understand the Bible or one of those that do?
You acknowledge the word in James 2:26 is the same as Eph.2:1 but do you deal with that word? No, you find a derivative word with a slightly different meaning to suit your narrative. You don't show us the only three places where this Strong's #3499 is used. Why? Because it would prove it is used in a completely different context from both James and Eph. Strong's #3499 is used in the sense of "to consider something to be dead" whereas #3498 literally means "to be dead". Out from this deception you derived your stance of having a spirit that is not dead but only considered dead or "deadened" as you like to call it.
Romans 4:19
Without weakening in his faith, he faced the fact that his body was as good as dead – since he was about a hundred years old – and that Sarah’s womb was also dead.
Hebrews 11:12
And so from this one man, and he as good as dead, came descendants as numerous as the stars in the sky and as countless as the sand on the seashore.
Colossians 3:5
Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry.
In post #1634 you deceived us again by quoting Eph.2:1 while stating the Greek word used was #3499, which it is not.
I gave you dead, as in (dead in trespasses and sins Eph 2:1), nek-ro-o in Greek 3499, from Strong's Concordance and it says " to deaden i.e ( fig.) to subdue; be dead, mortify.
You have consistently insisted that the new birth is "again" meaning a second time when the Greek word used "anothen" does not mean a second time at all and this is backed up by the various other instances where it is used. It means from above or from the top or from the origin/beginning. https://biblehub.com/greek/ano_then_509.htm
You have refused to explain how a non-functioning spirit can hear or how a birth translates to being revitalized, two very different things.
You have ignored that many of these 'deadened' spirits are going to return to God yet have not explained how can God receive such spirits that are tainted by sin?
Your deception and refusal to deal with what is actually written has led you astray.
You have a nice day.
grace and peace
