Grace is an action of God for us to be enabled by His power, to do and to think as He desires of us.

Grace is His enabling power He supplies to those who walk in grace and truth.
But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace toward me was not in vain.
On the contrary, I worked harder than any of them, though it was not I, but the grace
of God that is with me.
1 Corinthians 15:10
And, here!

But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.”
Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may
rest upon me.
1 Corinthians 15:10

King James?

We don't speak that way today.
It can be twisted to mean things that was not really said.

That is why some like it.
For they can twist the meaning to their advantage to gain power over another.

If Jesus came to earth today He would not be speaking King James English.
He would be saying things plain and simple.
Words that can not be misunderstood.

Are you totally blind? He plainly said, "the life of the flesh is in the blood" and that
is what Scripture says too, but I know how much you disagree with Scripture...

Stay in context:
Leviticus was referring to the animal sacrifices only.

The blood of our spiritual life is our human spirit.
The human spirit is the spiritual blood for Christians.

Unbelievers do not have a human spirit.
That is why Jesus spoke of the unbeliever like this.
But he replied, “Lord, first let me go and bury my father.”
Jesus said to him, “Let the dead bury their own dead,
but you go and proclaim the kingdom of God.”

Unbelievers without a human spirit?

God sees them as "dead."
Some might say... "the walking dead."

.......

Are you totally blind? He plainly said, "the life of the flesh is in the blood" and that
is what Scripture says too, but I know how much you disagree with Scripture...

Are you blind? The scripture plainly states the life of the flesh is in the blood. What life is your flesh? Is it your spiritual life or your physical life?

Animals do not have a spiritual life, they are not born of God. Their life which, comprises body and soul, is in their blood because the totality of their existence has been created from the elements of the earth.

Genesis 1:24
Then God said, Let the earth bring forth the living creature according to its kind: cattle and creeping thing and beast of the earth, each according to its kind”; and it was so.

Humans, on the other hand, are a special creation. Their soul being created uniquely by the hand of God from nothing Gen.1:27 (human life), their bodies (originally and perpetuated through procreation) being created from the elements Gen2:7 (physical/biological life) and their spirit being generated of God (spiritual life). Jn.3:6

Am I mistaken or was the blood of Jesus, sprinkled on the mercy seat, the payment for the sins of the whole world? " For the law was given by Moses, BUT GRACE AND TRUTH CAME BY JESUS CHRIST." John 1:17. The OT righteous had the PROMISE of salvation, salvation IS Jesus Christ, as you quoted from Luke 2, when Simeon " saw the Lord's salvation." So grace, truth AND salvation came by Jesus Christ. Yes, the OT righteous had faith in the " promise " of salvation. Jacob, or Israel, before he died, prophesied his sons future and said in Gen. 49:18 " I have waited for thy salvation, O Lord." This was the case for all OT righteous BEFORE Jesus.
There is only one salvation ... there is not a salvation for believers who lived before the Lord Jesus Christ fulfilled His earthly ministry and a different salvation for believers who lived after the Lord Jesus Christ fulfilled His earthly ministry.

All who believed God prior to the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ joyed and rejoiced in salvation ... the same salvation we joy and rejoice in as we live out our lives in this day and time.

They waited in Abraham's bosom, Paradise, until Salvation, Jesus Christ, sprinkled said blood on the mercy seat, then came and " led captivity captive ", "receiving the end of their faith, even the salvation of their souls." 1 Peter 1:9.
1 Peter 1:6-9

6 Wherein ye greatly rejoice, though now for a season, if need be, ye are in heaviness through manifold temptations:

7 That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ:

8 Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory:

9 Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls.

Believers before Christ went through temptations and trials ... just as we go through temptations and trials.

Believers before Christ rejoiced just as we do "though now ye see him not, yet believing". Here is something David wrote:

Psalm 13:5 But I have trusted in thy mercy; my heart shall rejoice in thy salvation.

The OT righteous didn't have the " down payment " or" guarantee" of salvation, which is" ( the Spirit of ) Christ in you the Hope of Glory" Colossians 1:27. This, to me, makes what they went through that much more remarkable.

1 Peter 1:10-12

10 Of which salvation the prophets have enquired and searched diligently, who prophesied of the grace that should come unto you:

11 Searching what, or what manner of time the Spirit of Christ which was in them did signify, when it testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ, and the glory that should follow.

12 Unto whom it was revealed, that not unto themselves, but unto us they did minister the things, which are now reported unto you by them that have preached the gospel unto you with the Holy Ghost sent down from heaven; which things the angels desire to look into.

The "Spirit of Christ which was in them" revealed to them "the sufferings of Christ, and the glory that should follow". They believed what was revealed to them concerning the Lord Jesus Christ.

It was "revealed, that not unto themselves, but unto us they did minister". How did they minister to us? They wrote and spoke the words revealed to them by the Holy Spirit. They believed the words ... they knew some of what they spoke and wrote about was to take place in the future. And we can read about their lives and see how God worked in them which results in patience, comfort, hope in our lives.

Romans 15:4 For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.

When we read of things which occurred "aforetime" and we see the steadfast faith of those who lived prior to the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ and the steadfast faithfulness of God Who will absolutely fulfill His promises, we have hope in God Who delivered those who went before us in faith.

I believe it is the reason Jesus is the mediator of a " better covenant established upon better promises " Heb. 8:6.
Yes, the OC was established between God and the children of Israel. The purpose of the OC was to bring folks to Christ ("the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith" - Galatians 3:24) ... the issue was not the covenant in and of itself ("the law is holy, and the commandment holy, and just, and good" - Romans 7:12). the problem was/is man's inability to keep the covenant. Salvation is wholly through faith. In our day and time, believers know we are under the NC and we know the Lord Jesus Christ is "the Surety of a better testament" (Hebrews 7:22).

But we won't receive the fulness of our salvation until " Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it does not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when He shall appear, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is." 1 Jn. 3:2, as those that were/are in Paradise have.
right ... salvation is comprised of several spiritual truths ... justification whereby God declares the believer righteous ... sanctification whereby God works within the believer as he or she goes through the trials and temptations of this life. during these trials and temptations God works within the believer to "perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle" us (1 Peter 5:10) ... glorification is our future "when He shall appear, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is" ... so shall we ever be with the Lord

Is your life in your blood?
Or, is it in your soul?

Does your blood live on?
Or, does your soul?

Leviticus 17:11 was dealing only with the reality about animal life.
Not humans.

It is your soul that enters everlasting life.
Not, your body. Your body will be different from your present body.

Our present body is now from the elements of the earth.
Our new body will be from the elements of Heaven.
A body just like the glorified Christ.

Jesus body was not yet glorified until after He ascended back to Heaven.
That is why He commanded Mary at the tomb not to touch/cling to/ him!
For he had not yet ascended to the Father who would glorify Him!
Put your thinking cap on Nezzy, " the life of ALL flesh is in the blood " That is what God dictated or downloaded to Moses, argue with Him, it's settled with me. This means that, for ALL flesh to exist on the earth, it MUST have blood, unless it has a glorified body. If there is no blood present, there is no life, in man or beast. It isn't necessary for mans spirit and/ or soul to exist with blood, that's why the words ALL flesh is used. When we receive our glorified bodies we will be just as Jesus, spirit, soul, flesh and bones. Man consists of spirit, soul and flesh(body), God said ALL flesh, He didn't say animal flesh, He said ALL flesh. Again, if you have no blood your body WILL die. Now you two, and you know who you are, are so big on science, go to the library and take out all the books on science, and anatomy and DNA ,etc., etc. you can, and if you find one or more that says the man or beast can live on earth without blood, please share that information with us who are so less informed then you erudite guys, book titles and authors also if you will. I await with bated breath. To answer your first question, God said the life of the flesh is in the blood, so I, naturally, agree with Him. As I said earlier, if I don't have blood, I don't have life as a three part human being.

So if you bleed to death?
You soul ceases to be living.

Bodies of believers that have died?
Their souls are not alive now in Heaven????

Our life with God is in our souls.
Bodies can, and will be replaced.

Now we are confident, and we are well pleased rather to be absent from the body,
and to be at home with the Lord. 2 Corinthians 5:8

So? These next souls without a body?
Sound very much alive to me!

When he opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of those who had been
slain because of the word of God and the testimony they had maintained.
They called out in a loud voice, How long, Sovereign Lord, holy and true, until you judge
the inhabitants of the earth and avenge our blood?” Then each of them was given a white
robe, and they were told to wait a little longer, until the full number of their fellow servants,
their brothers and sisters, were killed just as they had been. Revelation 6:9-11

Those souls were very much alive and were calling out loudly!
And they were fully aware of what had happened to them!

Well...

Let's see how you try to rationalize that away.

I agree with the majority of your post but the the 1 Peter 1:6-9 scripture is what I have been saying all the time, that when the OT righteous saw Jesus they received the " end of their faith, even the salvation of their souls", glorification. The only difference being NT righteous have been given a "down payment " while the OT righteous weren't. It's ALL" through faith with patience that we inherit the promises." Heb. 6:12. In Psalm 13:5, which you quoted, David states
...." my heart SHALL rejoice in Thy salvation." It seems that he knew, by faith, that he would receive Gods' salvation but the word" shall" means a future event. Yes, the Spirit was in them for service, for writing or prophesying, but not permanently. If the OT prophets had salvation why did they " inquired and searched diligently" about salvation?

You say that living is living in a fallen and dying world.

You can have it. I'm for life!

And, if a Christian matures spiritually and finds life more abundantly?
Paul tells us it does not come from the body, but a grace life found while in the body!
For our body has been crucified!

I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me;
and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved
me and gave Himself for me.
Galatians 2:20

No you haven't. All you have proven is you refuse to see words can have various meanings and context determines their best use and you have a tendency to ignore or deny context. The word translated spirit can mean breath or the life of something in general which is how it is being used in the Ecc.3:21 passage as it is speaking of both men and animals and animals are not born of God, they do not have an animal spirit, they are made from the elements of the earth, not of God. Gen.1:24.

Keep on ignoring/denying to your peril. We are BORN from above, not resuscitated.

No, we weren't talking abut existing on earth, we were talking about having life. You contended we no longer had human life when we died physically because our life is in our blood. post#1895

What flesh are you excluding that God didn't? Run out of blood, which "only" carries our physical life, ( I hope you don't) and see if you have human life. You CANNOT have human life without blood!

You realised what you said was incorrect when it was pointed out we continue to exist after physical death so, instead of admitting your error, you changed the goal post to read you were only talking about being alive on earth. Tsk, tsk. 😢

Always learning but never able to come to a knowledge of the truth." 2 Timothy 3:7

Book smart. But, with nothing alive in the heart.

Satan uses this kind as ankle weights to try to weigh down and wear out the always growing believer's 'walk in faith.'

Now you're just getting weird. Yes Nezzy, God EXPECTS us to live in this dark and dying world. Jesus, Himself, prayed " I pray NOT that Thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that Thou shouldest keep them from the evil." John 17:15. We are light and salt, His witnesses, living epistles, "Ye are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read of ALL MEN:. For as much as YE ARE MANIFESTLY DECLARED TO BE THE EPISTLE OF CHRIST ministered by us, written not of ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tablets of stone, but in fleshly tablets of the heart." 2 Cor. 3:2-3. The fields are" white already to harvest" John 4:35, but YOU want to leave, SMH. We have work to do, assignments here on earth, not in the sweet by and by. This is not the time to get all you can, can all you get and sit on your can. Stop thinking selfishly.
