I am surprised that you have not seen my creed, but I will remind you as long as I post on CC so that you may be firmly established in the Gospel:

The normative way of stating the meaning of saving faith in the NT is “Accept Christ Jesus as Lord” (as in Acts 16:31, 2Cor. 4:5 & Col. 2:6) or “Love Jesus as Messiah and Lord” (John 8:42). The main points of Christian orthodoxy implicit in these statements can be explained or elaborated as follows:

  1. There is a/one all-loving and just Lord or God (Deut. 6:4, John 3:16, 2Thes. 1:6), who is both able (2Tim. 1:12) and willing (1Tim. 2:3-4, Ezek. 33:11) to provide all morally accountable human beings salvation or heaven—a wonderful life full of love, joy and peace forever.
  2. Human beings are selfish or sinful (Rom. 3:23, 2Tim. 3:2-4, Col. 3:5), miserable (Gal. 5:19-21), and hopeless (Eph. 2:12) or hell-bound at the judgment (Matt. 23:33 & 25:46) when they reject God’s salvation (John 3:18, Rom. 2:5-11).
  3. Jesus is God’s Messiah/Christ and incarnate Son, the way that God has chosen (John 3:16, Acts 16:30-31, Phil. 2:9-11) of providing salvation by means of his atoning death on the cross for the payment of the penalty for the sins of humanity (Rom. 3:22-25 & 5:9-11), followed by his resurrection to reign in heaven (1Cor. 15:14-28).
  4. Thus, every person who hears the NT Gospel needs to repent and accept God’s justification in Jesus as Christ/Messiah the Lord or Supreme Commander (Luke 2:11, John 14:6, Acts 16:31), which means trying to obey His commandment to love one another (Matt. 22:37-40, John 13:35, Rom. 13:9)—forever (Matt. 10:22, Psa. 113:2).
  5. Then God’s Holy Spirit will establish a saving relationship with those who freely accept Him (Rev. 3:20) that will eventually achieve heaven when by means of persevering in learning Truth/God’s Word/sanctification everyone cooperates fully with His will (John 14:6, 17& 26, Rom. 8:6-17, Gal. 6:7-9, Eph. 1:13-14, Heb. 10:36, 12:1, Jam. 1:2-4).

One main problem; If we are able to do any thing, "Accept Jesus", "Believe in Jesus", repent --- what ever-- on our own, by our own efforts -- we are earning salvation

Yes, a problem is defining faith as a meritorious work instead of as merely satisfying God's condition (IF/MFW) of seeking forgiveness,
as GW does (Matt. 4:17, 7:7, 23:37, John 6:29, Rom. 3:21-5:1, 10:9, etc.). Defining it wrongly perverts the Gospel (Gal. 1:6-9),
so don't do that!

So, we have many phrases we often use instead of these scriptural words, to talk about getting eternal salvation.

'Turning from sin and making Jesus Lord or your life '

'Committing your life to Christ'

'Asking Jesus into your heart'

Etc..

These aren't actually in scripture..although may be fully supported by scripture.

The key thing is.. how do you know if these kind of scriptures are the same as 'believe on the Lord Jesus Christ'
hear the Holy Spirit refreshes Nrw! don't forget The Gospel is a living Everlasting Gospel and Hope all Epistles are in there witness to book of Life!
some non HS sayings are weak with no power God bless, leaves me leaving empty no blessing I rather they say Be A blessing .But most of all, Look at scriptures and See! The blessing is always told exactly what the The Blessing is.! Many more same weak, no power ,for Holy Spirit to act on!
Try understand few don't understand Us. I find great joy in that tho.
To answer your question Liston to what is Said very closely! Now him by how he speaks to yourself .

There are any number of theological questions we humans raise, including, what is the proper understanding of various scripture passages. There are ample arguments in this forum over such passages such as does a specific passage support or not support OSAS.

As for life, we are living physical lives while we claim specific spiritual beliefs, are we consistent in how we live our physical lives and what we profess to believe?

We do not know whose names are in the Book of Life with any certainty, but we like to claim that our names are included.

If God has the book, He does not allow us to see it. He does allow us to see multiple books that we profess to believe are His word, but those books are defined as God's word by other fallible humans, using various claims of faith to provide the necessary proof. We do not have any written record, or verbal record for that matter, that can be proven, except by faith, to be from God that dictates what books qualify as God's direct words to us. For instance, the Book of Jasher was highly regarded for divine insight at one time according to works we call "God's Word", but no one knows what it said.
Did Paul say something about writing your own epistle,?I recently put that script up there .Everlasting gospel is witness to the book of life .seek that out so umyour joy be full

Ye are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read of all men:
3 Forasmuch as ye are manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone, but in fleshy tables of the heart.

But that is not Paul "saying something about writing our own epistle," is it? As the verse in 2 Corinthians 3 that you quoted say:

(2Co 3:2) You are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read by all men;
(2Co 3:3) clearly you are an epistle of Christ, ministered by us, written not with ink but by the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of flesh, that is, of the heart.

He wasn't telling anyone to write their own epistle. He calls them an epistle of Christ, written on their hearts by the Spirit of the living God.

That wasn't a quote you see the question mark at the end something I was just remembering
now what Do you do with that ,witch is written from you to Another ?.bury it as dead ? use it for life For All to See?.God HS wrote on their heart and Paul enjoy seeing his work Of the holy spirit showing in them ,not of Paul himself but Christ. bottom line He and they all glorified God thing is we not Paul we are His Seperate and we have our own times with Holy Spirit People seem to teach
if Paul didn't say it The Lord won't honor it .Learn the principles and I'm sure Paul wants more of me or you .Ever think on that? ZHe just said it in the script didn't end there,,!
I know
I don'makke sense to you and I know why

Btw Paul's metaphor of a letter ("epistle") to explain that the changed Lives of the knowers are the ultimate proof of his ministry. Paul argues that he does not need written letters of recommendation.
The transformed character and faith of the community are His Living credentials.

Does that term, "Turning from sin and making Jesus Lord or your life" mean repentance? That's actually part of the gospel.

"Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ" means making Him your Lord and Savior, not just Savior. Meaning you are no longer running your own life. You obey Him if He becomes your Lord, not just Savior. That's gospel too.

Actually, the idea is more than simple repentance. It properly involved a complete reorienting of one's mind, an act that our human egos will do everything possible to avoid, including changing the concept to simply repentance. Our egos, our sense that we are separable selves, not fully connected to each other as revealed by both psychology and quantum physics, is the issue and this arises about age 7 months of age and remains with us for the rest of our physical lives.

The thing is what people mean by turning from sin or committing their life to Christ, when they are talking about getting eternal salvation.

Logically, a lost person, dead in sin, can't turn from it.

A saved person can turn from sin, because they are not dead in sin.

With committing your life to Christ.. it's a similar issue, where is the lost person saying they are promising a lifetime of faithful service?

If this is what they mean, that is something a lost person, again dead in sin, can't do.

On the other hand though, by turn from sin, they may just mean.. know/admit they are a sinner, and believe on Jesus Christ. Then in that case it's plain salvation.

Same with committing their life to Christ. They may not mean a promise of a life time of service, but entrusting their salvation with Jesus.

I have heard the phrase: 'believe on the Lord Jesus Christ', all my life.

I see too many that will utter these words but do not walk the walk so to speak.

I rephrase this to :: Do you 'believe' Jesus Christ?

If you believe Christ is the WAY then you will do what He says we are to do.

Satan believes, but He will not Do what Christ commands His follower to DO.

There are too many that utter words but refuse to DO.
JESUS supports your post in Matthew 7:21:
“ Not everyone who says to me, Lord, Lord will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who DOES the will of my Father.”

Luke 6:46 “ why do you call me Lord, Lord and do Not DO the things that I command you?”

“If you love me, keep my commandments.” John 14:15

“you are my friends if you DO what I say.”
John 15:14

Obviously the people in these verses were “believers” , but just believing will not save you as James 2:24 points out.
