Iron sharpen iron, when you get to heaven, you realize God put these people around you to help you :) 😃 😉

I do know that strife begets strife...

And I do know that it would be sooooo much easier to get to heaven if I didn't have all these OTHER PEOPLE to deal with.
Nobody goes to heaven actually, all to the grave and waiting for resurrection, but that's another topic.

After my last post on single and searching. and several discussion here. I have come to notice that Christian singles both male and female are very comfortable in Singlehood. Its like we device plans in staying single. The post of Register now and that of my brother ceph and many others... got me thinking...

If everyone is contented, the boys are contented, the girls are contented and we hope God may bring someone, if not we are contented.
My questions are;

Are we not too contented to see the one God may bring?

is this contentment not going to be a barrier to beautiful relationships if God brings the one? yeah we may be too contented to call, or pamper or receive pampering ( pamper sounds archaic, I don't know love talks/languages please bare with me🤭)

Is too much contentment not a form of defense from hurt and pain?

This one may be me I can discuss for long with a man but if he says relationship or date fear creeps in, I start finding faults and reasons why it can't work. till the man leaves I don't find peace.

Is this contentment a healthy one?

just my reflection

Disclaimer: Every child of God has peace and feels happy in all situation. This post is not about this.
This is very insightful.

I am content, but my contentment is also a shield to guard me from having false hopes. I know I am not what women are looking for so I have to be content being alone. Thankfully God has blessed me with the means to pursue many interests that bring me enjoyment in life.

Not every Christian single is content. Many are eager to marry, so let them marry. I know people already got married last year. Faithful Christians.

Jesus said to the thieve on his right side, tonight you will be with me in paradise.
When we die, our soul depart from that earthly body. The body goes to grave. The soul goes to paradise, with Jesus, for saved ones.

"Paradise" meant not heaven, but "garden", which was exactly where Jesus met Mary Magdalene outside of the grave, where he explicitly told her that he had NOT ascended to God the Father in heaven YET. So unless he lied, he didn't go to heaven, but wend down to Hades, the realm of the dead, where it is confirmed by multiple verses. He went down to Hades for a mission, to preach the gospel to the dead, deliver judgement, and set the captured souls free. "Saved souls go to heaven" is a gnostic teaching that has stealthly replaced "resurrection of the body" with "eternality of the soul."

Jesus said to her, “Do not cling to Me, for I have not yet ascended to My Father; but go to My brethren and say to them, ‘I am ascending to My Father and your Father, and to My God and your God.’ ” (Jn. 20:17)

For You will not leave my soul in Hades, Nor will You allow Your Holy One to see corruption. (Acts 2:27)

They will give an account to Him who is ready to judge the living and the dead. For this reason the gospel was preached also to those who are dead, that they might be judged according to men in the flesh, but live according to God in the spirit. (1 Pt. 4:5-6)

I am He who lives, and was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore. Amen. And I have the keys of Hades and of Death. (Rev. 1:18)

If you're not content in Lord Jesus and your relationship with Him, you're not a real Christian, for He's not enough for you, He's not your one and only but one of many, it has to be His saving grace plus a spouse, plus a marriage, plus kids, plus fleshly intimacy. And how does that work? Take a look at king Solomon, who had hundreds of wives, comcubines and kids, all the luxuries and pleasures one could ever imagine. And what was his conclusion? "Vanity of vanities, all is vanity." Only Jesus can fill that God shaped void in your heart, everything else is grasping for the wind.

So, as much counterintuitive as it sounds, here's truth - if you're not content, satisfied, happy and secure, neither will you be in marriage, you'll probably be more miserable and resentful, nobody but Jesus could fix you; only when you're ALREADY content, satisfied, happy and secure, and you're coupled with a partner who's equally content, satisfied, happy and secure, would marriage be a blessing that magnifies your happiness. Marriage is NOT a uniquely Christian thing, and it's NOT for everyone.

I once heard this from a young neuroscientist. She said ask yourself if the person criticizing you actually knows you and do they have the credentials to give an expert opinion on what they're criticizing you on. If they don't know you and they don't have the credentials to go along with their opinion, their opinion is like from a complete stranger you encounter on the street. Their opinion doesn't deserve your attention.

Actually the credential part is a gray area because some people can have credentials that don't hold water. The main thing is if they don't know you, don't take their criticism of you.

I have heard it phrased "Don't accept criticism from anyone you wouldn't go to for advice"

Oddly enough, I heard that from a person I wouldn't typically go to for advice, and it helped me reject some unfounded criticism they had previously given me. Wrap your brain around THAT! 🤯

Yes, that was actually part of what she said.

And I wanted to also tell you that trying to help someone or change someone's mind never works unless that person wanted your help or wanted to change.

I know but he keeps giving us those tiny little glimpses of the sad, scared, lonely little boy locked inside him and I want to help that kiddo so bad 😔.
I assure you, neither am I a "little boy' nor is it any of my intent to pick up any fight. Quite the opposite, if you risk your mental wellbeing by throwing yourself into dating, that would be picking up an epic fight, lol.

I generally agree but have seen it happen often enough that it's hard to completely give up. Plus, some people want help but are too proud or traumatized to admit it.

But yes, our friend does give many indications of being a hopeless case. 😔

I do seek help, believe it or not, Ps. 121:1-2.
