What past situation? When was he ever in a state where he considered the sin he committed not him doing it but sin dwelling in him doing it?
He is writing of his pre-conversion life while still in the "flesh", and trying, unsuccessfully, to live under the Law.
Why would he ever say something like that unless he was describing his sanctified state.
He does it to manifest the vast change that occurred when he submitted to Jesus Christ apart from the Law.
It doesn't make any sense the way your suggesting it.
I've gone far enough down your rabbit hole.
Thanks for your time.

Post 119 doesn't say that in any way. You're avoiding responsibility. You,are bearing false witness here.
This isn't questioning. This is accusation.

Your post #119

You can't explain how to brush your teeth to the glory of God. The reason you can't is because you have never considered it before. Hence, I have just demonstrated that you don't do all things to the glory of God. You have sinned. Rather than being led of the Spirit, as you say, and repent, you deny this truth. Another sin. You can't possibly be walking in the Spirit
What I wrote was true of that poster. He had never considered how to brush his teeth to the glory of God. Thus, when he brushed his teeth, he was not obeying the command to do all things to the glory of God. Hence, he was not walking in the Spirit at that time.

Christians can both walk according to the flesh or according to the Spirit. So...saying an individual is walking after the flesh does not equate to saying they are not saved.

If you believe Jesus was fully man when He was on earth, then He's the perfect example than man can be perfect. Him being God in the flesh doesn't take away from His humanity, otherwise you're saying He wasn't fully human.
Immanuel,"God with us", was fully human and God,the word made flesh who dwelt among us.

I've studied this scripture with the best gifted teacher for 38 years. Including access to the largest collection of biblical manuscripts in private hands behind the Vatican.

Your way off track, but i appreciate your kind tone.

Where were you taught this understanding?

Keep accusing. And then speak falsely to avoid responsibility. God sees you.
You called me a fool.

What responsibility have you taken for that?

Especially in light of Jesus saying you are in danger of hell fire for doing so.

Then the preachers will tell them there's no need to repent because they'll claim all future sins have already been forgiven.

So the new Christians hears this and thinks it's all good and they can continue living in sin and still be saved.

In what church/denomination do you have an administrative role?
In mine, preachers told folks they were, are and will be forgiven, BECAUSE they had repented of rejecting Christ!

So we grateful Christians (new, old and in-between) wanted to learn how to please God and become more like Christ.
I guess you have no idea what I am talking about?

It is easy for me to understand thanks to having been raised by godly parents, who loved and forgave me for past, present and future
misbehaviors, so I wanted to please them rather than continue misbehaving, although I would still be their son.

Paradoxical, isn't it?

As long as I get drunk a little less than I did before getting saved, I'm all good then right?

Its not about good works.

It's the fact that everyone is not perfect, but Jesus is perfect and His payment for sin is all sufficient.

A believer seeks after following Jesus, because the believers stain of sin has been removed by Jesus. Not to attain righteousness or become sinless. That is impossible.

Been doing some reading lately on christian doctrine and I keep running in to people saying it's normal to sin daily and it's not possible to stop living in sin. It's like they are saying there's no hope to be free from living in sin and they have just accepted that this is normal.

What sects are teaching this exactly, does anybody know?
it's true, you can not become sinless. you certainly can learn not to sin so much. growing in grace of our Lord & savior, Jesus Christ will progrees you into sinning less. if a born again Christian is not progressing in this manner, he or she is really not born again. our hope lies in Jesus Christ dying on the cross for our sins to be forgiven amongst other truths. THAT NEVER MEANS WE HAVE A LISCENSE TO SIN! AND IT DOESN'T MEAN YOU CAN SIN AS MUCH AS YOU WANT BECAUSE YOU ARE BORN AGAIN. there is more to this.

I thank God for allowing me to walk in the Spirit, so the deeds of the flesh are impossible to accommodate !

Reread Gal 5:17 for your answer.

Even the pure get tempted, but we can rely on the truth of 1 Cor 10:13..."There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it."
Is that perfection?

The only perfection I understand is the perfection in that love for others and even my enemies.

Philippians 3:12-15
Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already been made perfect, but I press on to take hold of that for which
Christ Jesus took hold of me. Brothers, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting
what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize of God’s heavenly calling
in Christ Jesus. All of us who are mature should embrace this point of view.

I'd really like to know where you were taught the understanding your presenting.

Many saints are self taught these days, is this coming from your own research?

Red Herring!
No one here has said we can sin as much as we want because we are born again.

I heard a story from a young preacher about a family of Eskimos who made color-patched sweaters for the village fishermen so that if they perished, they could be easily recognized by their sweaters.

He pictured arriving in heaven the same way—walking up to the gate, and some might say to the Lord, “This rough-looking bunch doesn’t belong here. They don’t look proper, they don’t walk proper. How do you know they belong?” And the Lord would say, “Well, you see those sweaters?”

We may look rough on the outside because, for some reason, we were given the will to follow, yet we face plant more often than not. Some call that walking in sin because that’s all they see, but God made the heart (sweater) and can recognize it through all the scars.

Freed, this is how Rom.7:14-21 is translated.

Paul is describing a state of being where there are 3 entities. The Holy spirit, Satan, and us.
The Greek uses military terms in describing this state Paul is in.

We have the Holy spirit and satan in "trench warfare" over our souls.

We are a third party, merely an onlooker, watching this trecnch warfare, whos only part to play is which one we choose to give power to.

This is the foundational understanding of a sanctified life.

I think this is one of the most beautiful passages Paul ever taught.

Romans 7 isn’t trench warfare between the Spirit and Satan — Paul never mentions Satan — it’s the regenerate man himself discovering that his renewed will loves God’s law while indwelling sin resists it, proving he cannot sanctify himself and must walk by the Spirit (Rom 8:13). The “I” is not a spectator; it’s the believer who wills the good but lacks power apart from the Spirit.

Therefore you shall be perfect, just as your Father in heaven is perfect. - Matthew 5:48

Anyone who says perfection is impossible is content in producing more sin.

I'm not saying that it isn't a process, you don't just suddenly stop sinning, but to think that perfection is impossible, disregards scripture and makes you comfortable with your imperfection so you stop striving for it.
